Budget cuts beware new management

New management, cutting costs beware! Our mother has been a resident for about a year. What drew us to this place was the, beauty, friendliness, care options and most importantly value. Since new management took over a couple of months ago, staff has quit, quality has gone down, and place has lost its class and sophistication. From what we are hearing from the disgruntled staff, over budget is what the new management is all about. These budget cuts are affecting the dining room in particular. Staff is leaving and not being replaced. The wait for an order is an average of an hour. Our mother waited 2 hours for her to go order. In addition, the management is having the residents bring their own tupperware containers for take out of left overs because they don’t want to give to go containers. In addition, for the last month a tacky sign for request of a liquor license has been posted on the main front door. We don’t want to have to move Mom, however things need to improve.

NEEDS WORK!

This gem of a place has gone DOWN, Down, down!!! Really wish the services that were there less than a year ago would come back....it is a lovely location and was beautiful at the start. It continues to anger me that the staff is not treated well and in turn the care continues to diminish. Hopefully, it still has a chance to turn around; otherwise, I fear, we may be looking for a New Place for mom!!!

Beautiful, full of amenities, very active resident population. Could be a bit out of the price range, but still on the list.

Going Down Hill

I was very disappointed in my experience in this community. The management has really stopped caring about this community, and it has really gone hill. The cleanliness of the community is horrible. The dining room is really dirty, and food is left on the table from the day before. The residents appear to be depressed, and not happy. This is not a community I would recommend.

We are discouraged by your review and the fact that you prefer to remain anonymous. Everything you have stated is factually incorrect. This vibrant community has never looked and felt better after the bistro expansion and screen upper terrace addition. If you want to personally address your concerns, we welcome you to call Executive Director Kellie McKenzie at Conservatory At Plano who would be more than happy to speak with you.

A Gem of a Place!

It is hard to put into words what I feel about The Conservatory – Plano.

I am in the business of introducing clients to senior living facilities with my company, Home Transitions. But when my mom decided to move out from San Diego to live near me in Plano, TX, I went on a 20 – facility look-see in Collin County. I whittled down the list to the top 6 and had my mom out for a week of her own review and decision. What she did not know was I had put a deposit down on an apartment at The Conservatory. It ended up, it was her decision too!

Just moving from a daily view of the Pacific Ocean; country club life with 28 years of friends is transition enough! But add parting with most of your belongings and the impression that you are losing your independence, accepting the fact that you no longer can do for yourself.

The Conservatory – Plano is like a summer breeze. It slowly envelops you with its beautiful surroundings but most importantly, the friendly, family support that lightly hugs and understands! You slowly loose the loss of the Pacific. You look forward to amazing meals in their dining room offering daily menus, personal service and maître/dinning supervisors Pedro and John (who know your name Day 1); seat you with those they think you might enjoy meeting. It is a GREAT centerpiece to the facility and HUGE cornerstone to feeling you belong.

From the start, the long-terms spoke about the friendly staff. It is why they are long-term and still enjoying the life! But two stand outs are Tobie and Kellie. Tobie was our first touch to The Conservatory! As the Admission Director, she helped us lock in a place (twice), supported little coordination issues with the move but… has the most generous and warm heart. She becomes your best friend as if you are the only one in the place! And Kellie is the ever-present Executive Director. She is relatively new herself yet knows everyone’s name, family, concerns and, I understand, has single-handedly made The Conservatory’s offer to the residents dramatically improved – noted by a full house!

With a lot of words, I still have not keyed into what The Conservatory has done for my mom (and me) in her transition from the home she loved to a beautiful new lifestyle where she feels she belongs and can flourish.

Thank –you.

The conservatory is great, it's really a great place.

The conservatory is great, it's really a great place. It's a great place for someone who needs independent, or assisted living. The people in there were great. They took really good care of him.

Very nice place

I've heard nothing but good things from my loved one about The Conservatory at Plano. She likes the staff, says the other residents are friendly, and really seems to be enjoying the atmosphere and the activities. We're entirely satisfied with our experience!

A Great Value

I think that The Conservatory is a great value. All the meals are taken care of and everything is just included in the rent. All of the staff members are very easy to work with and the residents there are friendly.

Conservatory 5 Star Experience

Very elegant & inviting facility that is perfect for older individuals or couples who are looking for a home like feeling rather than nursing home atmosphere. Amenities, services included in the monthly rent (60 meals per month in beautifully appointed dining room, weekly housekeeping, transportation, movie theater, salon services, social hour) & staff excellent! We were not aware that a senior living community like this existed without high buy in's or astronomical monthly rates. My parents love their new home and wish they would have moved their sooner!

Great food

The Conservatory is very spacious and clean. When you walk in, there is a family atmosphere and everyone knows you by name. The staff is so compassionate and friendly. The food here is great and the activities seem fun.

It's great. I love it, and my mother loves it.

It's great. I love it, and my mother loves it. It's working out great. There haven't been any complaints about food or anything. The only thing has been, that there is just one worker who has just a little bit rougher of a personality, and has been a challenge for mom to work with. Other than that, they have activities and she has participated in a few, and I would say overall it's going well.

The food is excellent

The food is excellent and that's why we moved here. The communication could be improved because I have waited to play games and no one showed up. Everything has been going good. Everyone is very nice.

Both my brother and I toured this property. I had lunch there. Food was incredible and the features of the facility were incredible but TOO fancy for us and the apartment sizes were too small.

Seemed like a nice place

We toured this community when we were looking into senior living options for a loved one. I thought this place was very nice, based on what I saw during my tour. It was clean and well kept, and everyone seemed friendly. Although we ended up selecting another facility that worked better for us, this place is definitely worth a look if you searching for options in the area.

The Conservatory at Plano is amazing!...

The Conservatory at Plano is amazing! The staff is fantastic. They are caring, efficient, and organized. They seem to have the ability to keep all of the resident's very happy, which can't be easy. Everyone I've spoken to has had nothing but good things to say about The Conservatory. The food is spectacular. My mother in law has been to several different facilities, and The Conservatory was the only one that had acceptable food. They were very accommodating as well. She had to move in unexpectedly, and they were very accommodating to her, helping place her things in storage, and allowing her to stay in another room until her apartment was ready. I would highly, highly recommend this place to others.

Very nice place!

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. Although we didn't end up selecting this community, it was definitely our second choice! It is a great looking place, the staff are very friendly, and the care and services looked great! The problem here was it seemed almost too nice! It was very fancy and we thought our loved one would prefer something a bit more homey.

loved this place.

loved this place.
