Customer Reviews

Dont bother

Worst service ever for people at the end of their life. When they want the care they don't get it. Left alone in a room by themselves with no compassion. Very short staffed and can't possibly give all those residents the care they so desperately need. Why bother having your loved ones health go downhill. Think twice before putting them here!

Poor care in assisted living

I felt Magnolia Glen Assisted living for my mother was nothing in compared to what we were told. She slowly went downhill upon entering and the care was minimal especially at that time of her life depending upon others to assist her. They were short staffed and had only 1 CNA per every 12 residents so your loved one will not get the care they deserve and if your not able to get them to go to the dining room they will insist or start charging them for not making the effort. In my estimation your much better getting private care in independent living but don't bother with assisted and for the extra money your paying save your wallet!

Clean but total lack of care towards the end

My grandma has stayed with magnolia Glen for 8 years and enjoyed it. The place is always clean and well maintained.

Unfortunately her health has recently begin to decline and she's had to move into the assisted living area of Magnolia Glen.

Firstly, she had to hire movers to move her bed and furniture to another floor. No help offered.

Secondly, and most infuriating, she has not felt well enough to go to the dining room. Its a lot of work for her mobility speaking and her breathing is labored. I tell you the God's honest truth, her room is down the hall from the dining room, maybe 40 feet. Magnolia Glen said they'd have to charge additional to bring her meal to her room. This is assisted living and she pays 7 thousand dollars a month to be there. Mind you she's paid that for 8 years. You do the math. Not too far from a million. I find this to be criminal. The woman is towards the end of her life and the lack of care is appauling in my opinion. I'm her youngest grandson and trust me, I'd like to raise hell.

My wife and family are in various healthcare positions, and I'm told this is par for the course at most facilities. Disgusts me. Wake up America.

Terrible for end of life

Once people become more ill and require more care, Magnolia Glen pushes people to move out. They are not interested in helping with compassionate and loving end of life. They want active people who require little help or support. Even thought they were "assisted living" we had to pay for our own private help since there was not enough MG staff to help all the residents. If you have a family member looking for a place to stay until their death, look elsewhere unless you want them to be pushed out to a new place at the most vulnerable time of their life.

Friendly staff and reisdents

It's a nice facility, one of the things we did liek about it was they have a completely different building for folks who need more care; so the activities are geared based on where you live. The layout of the apartment and things like that she didn't like it as much, but other than that, the staff and the woman who took us on the tour were all friendly. The residents all appeared very happy and very engaged in what was going on and I think it may have been a good place for her.

Really Nice but We Needed More Care

She was there for years but they were not equipped for the care she ended up needing. We ended up having to bring in extra help there. It's a really nice place but they were just not equipped for someone who needs a lot of care.
