Customer Reviews

Very Clean

I was there for rehab. At first I was nervous but the staff for the most part were friendly. Therapy girls were very nice! Spoke with me as if I was a personal family member which made me comfortable. I would recommend.

Nice Facility

Food was not bad. Very clean. Bright inside and did not feel like a nursing home. Parking was a bit hard to find but that is the least of my worries. Nursing was great. [Name removed] is a CNA who deserves so much credit. Such a hard working, caring lady who you can tell loves helping others.

Very Happy Daughter

I am a daughter of a patient that was recently at Lexington. My mother was in the hospital and as her Power of Attorney, I had to tour a bunch of facilities to determine which one would best fit her needs. I ended up touring 4 different facilities. The Liaison that I spoke with, [Name removed], came to visit my mother and I in the hospital and recommended touring. She was very thorough in explaining from start to finish how my mothers care was going to be. I had a good feeling after speaking with her as I could tell she wasn't trying to "sell" me something and really believed in Lexington. Upon touring, I met with a gentleman named [Name removed]. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took his time with me and understood the needs I was concerned about. The facility was very clean and bright. Had no smells. The patients and staff all had smiles. It had a different "feel" then the other places I toured and I ended up bringing my mother there. She was accommodated with a private room which also made her stay so much easier on her. She received her IV antibiotics and also therapy. She ended up staying 4 weeks. I was able to see her slowly getting better with each passing day. The receptionist, [Name removed], came to be like family to me as she saw me everyday. She always asked me how my mother was and had a smile on her face.
My mother is now at an Assisted Facility which Lexington Social Services also kindly helped me get her into. She is doing great and I am extremely grateful for everything they did. I would recommend this facility to others. I know Healthcare is a tough job but when you love what you do, it truly shows!

My dad is in this place and so far we have mixed feelings. The place seems under staffed and communications are lacking so we are figuring it out as we go. We are hoping that weekdays are better.

Pros and Cons to the large size

We had trouble figuring out the residency requirements and I had gotten a call from their administrations director; at first she gave me a rosy picture and said everything would be fine and they would be able to get her in. They looked at the doctors notes and then said that she wouldn't be a good fit. They pretty much said over the phoen that they could take her and then two days later set us up to be disappointed. The real positive aspect is that they are a larger facility and organization so they can offer more in the way of additional services. With their memory care wing I was impressed that they had a neurologist who visited regularly in addition to the general practiitoner and I thought that was impressive; their facilities for therapy were all really great also. The negative to the size is that it would be pretty easy to get lost there and they would wake you up in the middle of the night for showers because they have suchy a backlog.

From the Community

Since 1984, Lexington has been a part of the community helping to serve seniors throughout the Chicagoland suburbs. Our sub acute rehabilitation program is designed specifically for those individuals recovering from a hospital stay or recent surgery, requiring short term rehabilitation and/or skilled care. At Lexington, our program is designed with your goals in mind, to return you home as quick as possible. In the past year, we have successfully rehabilitated over 3500 patients in the Chicagoland area. In a recent satisfaction survey, 99% of the respondents said they were satisfied with the overall quality of the therapy received. We offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy up to 7 days per week. Lexington is a leader in therapy outcomes. The average length of stay, percentage of goals met, and return to home rates exceed the Illinois and national average for skilled facilities. We also want your stay to feel like home. Our recent sub-acute remodeling features a completely separate unit designed for short term patients. Amenities include flat screen TV’s, electrical beds, wireless Internet, cable, telephones, state of the art therapy gym, and personal choice dining. We offer private and semi-private rooms. For long-term intermediate and skilled nursing care, you’ll benefit from a staff of medical professionals who treat each resident with respect, and support the family, and are sensitive to the physical and emotional aspects of aging. We know that the key to great care is consistency of the staff taking care of your loved one.
