A Good Place to Call Home

Cummings Assisted Living provides a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for its residents and their visitors. All of the staff members we have worked with are very helpful and accommodating, from the director, to the marketing staff, to the caregivers, always greeting us with a smile. The facility is very clean and there appears to be an ample number of employees to keep everything running as it should. It is clear that the main emphasis is on the residents and their well-being. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants their loved one to live in a warm, caring environment.

Our tour of Lakewood Village was very nice as well as informative. My mother really liked this place and is seriously considering a move. Both the residence and the staff We’re helpful and friendly.

This is a good option with a wide range of care options -- Independent, Assisted, and Memory Care. This facility is very affordable. I like the fact that this facility is off the beaten path, and they have nice 'natural' areas surrounding the facility and there is a fully stocked lake where people can wall, enjoy scenery, and there are accommodations for outdoor events, if you wanted to have a picnic with your family. Rooms are spacious and accommodating, full kitchen for independent living options. They are in the midst of some remodeling which will make the assisted living more current. Residents seemed happy, engaged, and the staff are delightful with the residents.

Mom's good care

We are happy with the care at this community. The staff are wonderful and caring to her needs. The menu is good but my mom says that they need some improvements. The community is clean with the nice environment that she does like. The community had a lot of activities and a lot to offer. We would recommend this community to other families for a good value and good care

Thank you!

[Removed] was extremely attentive and everything about this facility sounded like the type of place we'd have chosen if the location had been where we needed to be. We did not get to tour this facility.

A tour for care for mom

We toured this community for care. I like the staff. I did not like that her room would be so far. The community is nice. They only offer two meals. The rooms are nice and they have full kitchens. They offer activities and the community is very clean. We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one

Not the best food!!

My mother liked Lakewood Assisted Living when she toured. She put a deposit down but immediately regretted it when she tried the food. The food was terrible, they gave her the meal on a styrofoam plate with plastic utensils. They said they were redoing the kitchen, but it was still a dealbreaker.

I would highly recommend this community.

My loved ones apartment came with new carpet and new appliances. The apartment overlooks a large variety of flowers. The meals are fabulous. This is an older building, however they are working on it. They have started replacing the carpet in the hallways. They offer daily activities. The community is spotless. The staff have been wonderful and accommodating.

A great community.

This community is spotless. They actively maintain the community and seem to keep it up. There are no odors in the areas I have visited. There is a lake nearby. The people I have met have been wonderful. I would recommend this community.

Health Care Center

The Health Care Center seems understaffed and has a lot of turn over. The Social Worker who is supposed to advocate for the patients and the families is not helpful and is quite defensive if there are any concerns presented.

Not a place for rehab

We needed a rehab facility for my mother after she had been in the hospital for a month for surgery. She was weak and unable to walk on her own. [removed] My family ended up being her nurses aide since the staff is entirely unresponsive to the calls for aide. We are ready to pull her out [removed]. The grounds are beautiful and may be fine for independent living, but avoid their health care center at all costs.

Thank you for your comments, we have made some updates at Lakewood Village and would love for you to come tour and see them. Give us a call today at [removed].

It was a nice place, and the people were really friendly.

We toured here when we were looking. It was a nice place, and the people were really friendly. The only thing that really had me bothered, they have a really steep ramp there, and we worried if that would be a little hazard for my loved one. We chose another location based one where she wanted to be.

My Mother is very happy here

My mother is very happy here. My overall rating of this property is 3 1/2 stars. I'm not going to rate any of the categories because I don't have enough experience with those areas. I can say that this is what my mother wanted and she is very happy here. I am glad that she is at a community she likes. The Lakewood Village Retirement Community is a good place. As I stated before, I would rate this community 3 1/2 stars.

Very nice place, happy and content people!

Lakewood Village Retirement is a fantastic place! The staff have been so friendly and so helpful throughout the whole process. They were very willing to sit down with us for as long as it took, and explain everything until we were sure we had a handle on it all. They also welcomed us to come to the community at any time and just wander at our leisure speaking with the residents to see how they liked it. There really was no sales pressure at all, they were confident that we would see they were a great place, and they were right! Both the residents and the staff just seem happy and content here, I would highly recommend them to anyone!

The right move for mom.

My mom moved in 2012 to Lakewood Village Independent Living Apartment. She has enjoyed the friends she has made, various activities and the meals prepared. It is a beautiful area and well kept. It was an adjustment period but the family knowing someone is available for her with the push of a button gives great peace of mind. Very pleased.

Wonderful Caring Community

Beginning with the first day we moved my parents in they felt completely at home. The apartment was set up as was requested. What minor things needed to be adjusted were handled promptly and with loving care. The food was yummy with a nice selection of choices. Neighbors introduced themselves and told us where they lived and to let them know if we needed anything. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They all knew my parents names and when I told them mine, the next time I saw them they called me by my name as well. Calendars of activities are posted in all the elevators and in each residence. After my folks had been there for a few months my dad had a medical emergency. The staff was very prompt, kind, and helpful in their response to the situation. I feel very pleased with the attention to details each staff member give to the residents. That is a huge comfort when you live out of state. Thank you Lakewood for providing a wonderful environment for Seniors. My parents love being there!

lovely, caring place

I love this place, it's welcoming, caring the residents are wonderful, friendly and talkative, residents feel at home loved they have many activities, singing, they also go on tours on little bus!

A couple of people should not working there, but overall the staff is very friendly.

My Mom has been there less than 2 months and she really enjoys Lakewood. During the week day they offer activities for the patients, but on weekends they don't so there is more visitation time for family members.

Overall this is a great retirement community 4/5!

Thank you Lakewood Village!

So far we have been very happy with Lakewood Village. There one or two employees that have personalities that are not condusive to working with the elderly or the public and should probably not be working there, but overall everyone is wonderful. My mother is very happy here and I thank my luck stars everyday because she is very picky. If she is happy then that makes my life easier.

Review of Lakewood Village Retirement Community Assisted Living in Fort Worth, TX

The grounds are beautiful, the facility is old, but well maintained, the residents and staff all seemed peaceful and content and we're going back for a second look!

A great place to live

The other residents are really the best part of Lakewood Village. You don't see depressed people sitting at tables by themselves looking like they're stunned at how horrible their lives have become. You see happy, active residents chatting with each other, playing card games and ENJOYING their food.
I haven't heard one negative comment about the food since the move in, and she's picky! The servers are really nice and consistently so. The maintenance staff went out of their way to make her apartment really nice. There were a few minor hiccups when she first moved in, but they apologized profusely. The only criticism I would have is that they need to have handicapped access to the door that leads into the water garden, and the front desk staff is inconsistent when it comes to being helpful. Overall, you've got a crew of truly helpful, loving people working at this place.

Not able to provide the care required.

The grounds are beautiful.

The grounds are beautiful. The apt well kept. There is a lot of spiritual support. The food is not my main focus, it’s industrial, but it’s okay. It’s on several acres and there’s a lake and walking trails. It’s right across the street from another. There’s a full schedule of activities. There is a laundry room on each floor and each wing.

My in-laws have been here since 7/5/2012. They love it here. The staff is great. Residents are friendly and fun to socialize with. Lots of activities also.

Friendly Staff and Lot of Activities

I haven't seen any problems with cleanliness and the staff is definitely friendly. They know everybody's name, even mine! I don't know how you find any place better than this for the price. My parent are in in independent living so they don't get assisted care but what they do have I think is good. The staff watches over them and they even given me calls to let them know how they're doing. There are plenty of activities. They have bus trips, outings to the theater, they show movies there, singing, and other things.

Not an Independent living enviroment we are looking for. My mom is still very independent and doesn't need the medical options provided with this property. Looking for more of a luxury style Independent living facility. Not nursing home type.
