Too Much Of A City Feel For Mom

Mom didn't like this community she felt like it was too busy and too large. It reminded her of being in a large city. The staff was friendly and helpful but mom would not have been happy there.

Mothers Good Care

We were very happy with the care that my mom received from this nice community. The staff was very nice and attentive to her needs. The community was always clean and maintained. The menu was very good for her and she was happy with the nice variety. They offered her activities that she did enjoy. We would recommend this community for the care and value for other family members

A Change Was In Progress

I saw a nice community when I had stopped by for a visit. They were doing a major renovation and it was looking very nice. It was not going to be a fit for our needs so we passed on moving in.

Construction in process!!

It is hard for me to talk about my experience at this community because everything was under construction. They where in the process of remodeling the place and re doing the dinning room as well as other common areas. The staff where kind helpful with the information they provided me though.

A great place

Mom is doing well Church Creek. The staff have been helpful and we have good communication with them. She likes the food especially the desserts. They offer daily activities and the community is beautiful. They invite family to enjoy meals with their loved one. I would recommend this community.

Facility felt too much like a hotel.

Very nice people and very good care.

..bad news, scathing review dad, rest in peace, recently passed and feel he would've lived for some time..10-20 years..longer had it not been where he went after breaking his hip..this charade known as church creek..
..he wasn't on the nursing home side, but the healthcare/rehab side after breaking his hip..yet, i feel that if they permit this scathingly [Removed] behavior on the rehab side..then who is to say it would be any different in similar situation on the nursing home side..
..quite frankly, i despise being the bearer of bad news and my mother doesn't believe in lawsuits, otherwise they would've had a monster one on their hands and [Removed], to boot..yet, my conscience compels me to shed light on this, to say the least..this unprofessional, exploitative way he was treated..yet, still feel he would still be alive today, if not for blatant disregard pertaining to the way 1)his hip stabilizer contraption hadn't been on the wrong way as directed..which, i wasn't aware of until almost a month into..subsequently, reducing his mobility after healing from it being on when it shouldn't laying down and overnight causing his hip to heal up when he came home he was pretty much wheelchair/walker bound and couldn't get the exercise that he needed for lots of reasons and deteriorated a lot faster from there.
2) awful bedsores from not being cleaned properly after defecating.
3) unnecessary tests ran on him [Removed], when they didn't run the tests they needed to, as a result not catching his liver enzymes skyrocketing (INR) test? which, his levels were around 30 and should of been more around 2..
..i do realize he was a 'difficult' patient, but that doesn't give them the right to run frivolous money making tests instead to support sinister bottom line at the expense of the ones that should have, not to mention my dads life..very disturbing..we are grateful to have gotten him out of there when we did..December '15, or he would've passed two Christmases(tearing up) sooner..
..its just very disturbing the lack of compassion and caring they had..maybe part of it was not enough staff, yet still doesn't excuse and find hard to believe..but still doesn't excuse at the expense of patients or should i say inmates..
..they day he 'escaped' he was swollen like a watermelon in both legs(pitting edema)..all the way (50lbs overweight-water) almost up to his heart..this is very difficult for me..that it took a life threatening emergency to save him, at least for another year or two..because he wouldn't of made it if we hadn't of that day..
..i can go on n on..yet, it doesn't make me feel one one bit better doing so..only adequate closure..

My Thought Of The Tour.

Dad did not like this community when we visited. While we were there it did not seem very active. The community was dated. The people we met were nice and the community seemed clean.

I am the Executive Director and would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I am pleased that you found our people nice and our community clean. Soon you will find our community updated as we have an exciting new renovation in the works. The activity level does depend on when you visit - we do frequent off campus outings and it can seem quiet at those times. Our Lifestyle 360 resident engagement program is based on the five dimensions of wellness with a full complement of intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual programs. Please accept my invitation to dine with us and to participate in a few Lifestyle 360 activities - we can review the calendar and pick out some that sound intriguing to you.

Church Creek shysters and crooks

They padded our monthly bill with [Removed] charges. We are seeking legal remediation. The executives of this place are not only incompetent and uncaring, they are also shysters.

I am the Regional Director of Operations and I understand that the questions with your monthly bill were reviewed by the Better Business Bureau who agreed with our billing procedures -- and that this issue is now resolved to both parties satisfaction. Please contact me if you have any outstanding questions. Kind regards -- Nancy

A Walk Through Of The Community

I looked at a room and it did not have a private shower. At the time I was looking for only primary memory care, They did not have focus only on memory care.

Thank you for taking a tour of our community. Church Creek does offer a wide range of services, including a dedicated Memory Care neighborhood (as well as Independent and Assisted Living options). We find that for some people it may take more than one visit to fully develop a feel for a community. As such we encourage you to come back for a second visit so we can spend some time with you to completely address any questions or concerns you may have.

Nice Sized Apartment

When looking into long term care options for Mom location and the size of the apartment was our main concern since Mom is still at a point where she can do things on her own. When we found Church Creek it was great because the storage is right in front of her apartment and there's lots of room for her. The staff is very accommodating which we really appreciate. i would definitely recommend!

Good care

There have been a few minor issues, but other than that things are going well at Church Creek. The staff is attentive and accommodating and the facility is dated, but clean and well taken care of. They take good care of the residents.

Facility Is Great

I think that the facility itself is great; it has a great indoor environment. The food is wonderful. I think they probably could have somebody available to help new residents get acclimated more, like encouraging them to participate in activities.

Dated property

It's dated and they do everything they can with the property.

Exactly what my in-laws were looking for and they have so far been very pleased.

It Has Not Been The Best

I am worried all the time. She is having problems adjusting. Some of the people are very nice there, which is good, but the accounting department has not been good, like billing and all that sort of the thing. I feel like she is being taken care of, but I don't feel like they are that accommodating to the family. I just feel like i'm in the dark about somethings. It's a nice place, but it hasn't been the best. There just isn't enough feedback.

At this point they are doing very well.

At this point they are doing very well. I don't have any major concerns. It's very clean, and the staff is friendly. It's almost like a hotel or a resort. It's still new, but so far, I am very happy with it.

Amazing place!

They do an amazing job at Church Creek! There is absolutely nothing that they don't do well! Their sales team is amazing, and was so helpful throughout the whole move-in process. And they have a really excellent home health care service as well. All of people here, both the residents and the staff, seem very friendly and happy to be here. They are also very reasonably priced for what they provide, and there is no buy-in fee, it is strictly rent based. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking into senior living!

Review of Church Creek Alzheimer's / Memory Care in Arlington Heights, IL

Not impressed, they must be having issues with moisture carpets are coming up and not sure how the persons using walkers handle it, did like the storage closet next to every apartment.

Thank you for visiting Church Creek and I appreciate your feedback. The storage rooms are always a nice commodity for the residents and easily accessible since they are next to the apartments. Since 2012 we have been busy with many new updates including adding more handicap parking in the front lot, new sidewalks and curbs and retaining walls. It is our plan to have many more updates added to the community including carpeting.

Not near LGH but very nice place. They have a waitin list for studio but 1 bedroom may be an option

lobby looks nice, but the food, services, maintenance could be better

The independent living side appears nice, but the services are lacking. No one to acclimate your parent to anyone else. the cleaning isn't much. Clothes disappear from the laundry rooms. Staff is nice, when your parent actually has some medical issues, the angels people level of expertise is inconsistent. There is a lot of turnover. The front area has been grungy looking from all the time I've seen it, there is no real outdoor area except for where all the cars come and go with exhaust fumes. Don't consider the assisted living, as I a good place for care, as the staff there seem even worse. If your parent is a diabetic, don't expect any special menu choices from them. My mother's AC unit is not really working after I had them fix it twice.

Thank you for your feedback. Here at Church Creek, providing the best quality care for our residents is our highest priority, so it is a serious concern for me when I read about a resident or family member who comes away with an experience as negative as the one you described. If you are willing to do so, I would like to speak to you in person or over the phone to address each one of your concerns in detail, and with the attention that it deserves.

Very nice, very long, and would require quite a bit of walking. The place seemed dark and the residents did not seem engaged.

Thank you for your feedback on your visit to our community. Our Independent Living area is large and offers many common space areas for our residents to enjoy. We provide escort services by team members and the care providers on site assist with escorting our residents that are in need to where they would like to go. We also provide three other neighborhoods at Church Creek including Assisted Living and Memory Care along with our skilled nursing rehabilitation area. Each neighborhood has an activity program structured specifically for those residing there. Exercise, movies, happy hour, chair yoga, pet therapy, religious services and outings, not to mention the resident’s card clubs, dominos and brain fit exercises are some of the many activities that are offered at Church Creek. I would love to have you back for an additional tour as well as the chance to join our residents in an activity session.

So far, we really have nothing negetive to say! Our loved one LOVES the food! Whenever we visit, everything looks first class and nicely kept! The staff all seem very attentive and courteous! As for the activities, I hear that there is always something going on. The residents can't always participate, but they do offer the options. When we were exploring, this seemed to be the most reasonably priced option around here! Some of the others have a lot of ameneties and services rolled up into one big price, but this is more of an a la carte service, so if you don't need some services, you don't have to pay for them!

Very nice facility. Cares for their rents. Has good interactive programs. Unfortunately, showing its age. Newer properties units are more uptodate.

Skilled nursing was horrible

My mom was in the independent living and then skilled nursing, the independent living wasn't too bad, but the nursing place I wouldn't take a dog to.
You could walk in the door and my mom was just laying there all day, you could smell uring and they weren't checking on her. The food was terrible and she had to send the food back several times. There were so many times when the food was literally unedible and most of the times when she was sitting in the dining room and people would just complain about how bad the food was. I would be there 5-6 hours just to make sure that she got the basic things she needed and was taken to dinner. That place was terrible, I was having so many problems with them, I was just disgusted. My brother and sister had a meeting with them and absolutely nothing got accomplished from that. The independent living wasn't too bad but the skilled nursing was terrible. Somebody from medicare needs to investigate it because I think it's just one big scam.

Good But Big

I was good. It was more expensive and the building was a little bit larger. I liked the smaller places.

Offers High Care

It wasn't going to work for my mom because she is more independently functioning that a lot of the people there. They needed more help

Great place that deserves some serious consideration. It's much cheaper than the Heritage although the location isn't as pretty. There are 2 ponds and some nice walking paths so you would have access to nature. The building is huge and there is an indoor and outdoor walking club which my Mom thought was wonderful. She met one lady in the gym working out and they hit it off immediately. The bus is terrific--going to a variety of places in the community and residents can order a trip almost anywhere within a 10 mile radius (that could help with the lack of amenities within walking distance.) The rooms are a bit cheesy--total Brady Bunch decor with no plans to update. I was surprised by that. No ovens in the room but mom felt like she could live without that. They accept dogs. The health care is provided by outside company but they are on the premises.
