Good and not do good
There are good things and some not so good things about WW. The good are the cleanliness, the food, several of the nurses aides, several of the front desk staff, Vaughn in maintenance and all of the dining room staff. In addition, activities, days out, drives, and religious services are nice for residents. The not so good is the lack of visibility of the leadership especially to family members, poor communication from leadership and poor communication from nursing. Overall, I knew my mom was safe but I question the interest of leadership in senior care. The caring and kind staff make Weatherwood. If your family member has dementia this is NOT the place! They want well abled seniors who socialize who are there because they no longer want to keep a home. Leadership said they don't want anyone dozing off in main area so it doesn't look like a nursing home. They also updated the perfectly nice cherry furniture and traditional art throughout to a modern style. It is all about an appealing look to families when looking to place their parent in care not the care and leadership that is necessary for our seniors to thrive.
Very nice place!
We're very pleased with how things have gone at Weatherwood! After a disappointing experience at another community Weatherwood is like a breath of fresh air! The care here is excellent, and the medication and bathing services have been prompt and reliable. The food here is also very good, it is tasty and high quality! Overall Weatherwood is a very nice place, and we would recommend it to others in the area!
