Customer Reviews

food is not as I expected, very poor quality. I find our self eating less in the dining room per weeks, probably three times a week at Best. Which means more expense for us as I have to buy and prepare our food.

Wonderful place :)

We moved my Mother-in-Law to Traditions two years ago and are thankful everyday for her wonderful experiences. The staff is excellent and caring. The staff continues to take excellent care of my MIL. They go above and beyond and that makes all the difference. My MIL really feels that Traditions is her home, with fun adventures, amazing staff and wonderful new friends.

Check Out Traditions of Hanover

If your looking for an independent living arrangement for a love one, look no further than Traditions of Hanover. The staff are fantastic and the activities for residents is beyond your dreams. The apartments are spacious, up to date and offer various foot prints. The meals offer a variety of foods to suit the individual taste. So do yourself a favor and stop in to talk with the staff and a resident, you’ll be glad you did.

The staff was very helpful in providing information. We just felt the building itself was not what we wanted. Too
dark. Also felt maybe it's time to update appliances in the apartments. Found the quality of food excellent.

Individual Dietary Concerns

At Traditions of Hanover, Chef [name removed] is willing to discuss menu selections and what best fits your individual dietary needs. He is knowledgeable, freely shares fat, salt, and sugar content of individual foods, and offers alternative choices.

After visiting several senior living facilities Mom decided on Traditions of Hanover, what a great decision. The apartment, services, activities, and meals are great. What a difference I see in my mother. She has made many friends, and feels right at home.

From the moment we walked through the doors for the first time,we were greeted by smiling and friendly faces from the staff as well as the residents. The atmosphere is very warm and home-like. My mother has a lovely and spacious one bedroom apartment. The meals are very good with a wide selection of food to choose from. There are many activities and social events to participate in. I feel we made an excellent decision when we choose Traditions of Hanover for my mother.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a well cared for facility

Thriving at Traditions

Our 96 year-old mother moved to Traditions of Hanover in Bethlehem after the death of her husband. Since moving to Traditions, she has absolutely thrived. Always a sociable person, she has made new friends. Staff are friendly, and genuinely care about the community members. We have dined with Mom at Traditions, and the food is very good. Staff know her food preferences.
Since moving to Traditions, Mom has become stronger; her balance and mobility have improved. Most importantly, Mom says, "I am so glad I came here."

The Best Place for our Mom

Our Mom went to check out Traditions and after touring the facility and seeing the bright and sunny 1 bedroom apartment available, immediately signed up. We liked the fact that she would be on a month to month lease and can give 30 days notice if it isn't working out. Mom's plan was to try it for 3 months and see how she liked it. After 9 days she said put my house on the market. Moving to Traditions has been the BEST decision she has made. The staff is friendly and happy. All the employees know the residents by name. There are so many activities to choose from, I now have to look at the monthly schedule to see if Mom might be in her apartment before I call her. This is just what we wanted for our 91 year old. Since she has been there she is stronger physically and having the time of her life!

Mom feels so alive here.

After my father died we knew that my mother couldn't stay in the big, remote home where they had lived for 50 years. We did a tour of the area homes - and this one just clicked with us! My brother lives in Maine, and I live in Florida, but mom wanted to stay here to keep close to her doctors, and oversee the disposal of the family home. So we took a chance and she moved into Tradtions.

Best move ever!!!

From the incredibly warm and helpful staff, the great apartment, good food, great activities , friendly residents, and lovely setting - we could not be happier, or feel that she is safe and happy.

My mom summed it up last week when she told me, "I feel like I'm blossoming here. I feel so alive".

What could be better than that?

Over all very nice . Geared towards more abled bodied seniors. Cheerful atmosphere , nice bright dining room . Apartments 1 BR and 2 BR were cozy. not alot of storage space.Kitchen nice good size. I liked the 2 meals a day since most seniors don't eat much in the morning. always fruit available. Residents seemed happy and cheerful.

We saw a very nice lifestyle: self-contained, 2 meals each day in the dining hall, weekly housekeeping, frequent excursions.

Happy to be here.

We looked at several places for mom in the area. She always wanted Traditions of Hanover. When the time finally arrived she got cold feet and did not want to move. After we talked her into it reluctantly and against other family members concerns, she has fallen in love with her apartment. Even our out of state family that thought it was not a great idea to move mom here, has agreed this was the best thing for her after they stayed there a few times in her apartment.
Her standard answer whenever anyone asks if she is happy there; "Had I know it was this nice I would have moved here years ago." The entire staff are all very good at what they do. Helpful and friendly. Building is clean and well maintained. Meals are good and activities are the best we have seen for a place like this.

My Sister Had A Good Tour Of This Community

My sister had a good tour of this community. From what she saw the community appeared to be well maintained. We did end up finding a community that fit our needs better. Overall it was good tour, and this is a good community.

Warm and Welcoming Home

The staff at Traditions of Hanover is incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. My elderly uncle has lived there for several months and his whole family has been pleased with the caring staff, friendly neighbors and top-quality care. We feel very grateful.

I loved it...daily activities, daily trips @ request of clients Flexible dining hours, happy hour. All the clients seemed happy. Apts. had a stove!!!! BUT it is farther from my family than I wanted. 40 minutes. Megan was a great tour guide.

Dad has an active life at ToH

I second the other reviews which describe the nice apartments, friendly atmosphere and good food at Traditions of Hanover. My 89-year-old father is particularly enjoying the social atmosphere and the many trips organized by staff and residents. He goes somewhere several times a week with friends and ToH provides transportation - they all hop in the car or van with the ToH driver, off to lectures, restaurants, and shopping. There are lots of events and gatherings large and small in the building, from reading newspapers together over coffee in the morning to parties and concerts. After years of caring for my mother in declining health, and then being a widower, my father has made friends and is really having fun. He has a new lease on life.

I credit the ToH staff for offering such a rich living experience. The staff are uniformly kind, tactful and professionally knowledgeable about their seniors.

On another note, Dad recently had a medical mishap and received fast, efficient, and organized help - and I was notified right away. I am grateful that he is safe there and able to lead the active life he enjoys.

Great place with a vibrant community. The staff was excellent and engaged with their seniors. It had the feel of a tight knit community/family between the residents. We did not stay for a meal so I can not comment on the food. It is currently one of our top two choices. I would highly recommend a visit if you have a senior who is either physically and or mentally engaged as this would provide a great environment.

Traditions was home.

After Dad passed away Mom knew that she wanted to be independent, but that staying in the family home was more than she needed or wanted. After visiting two other facilities, Traditions of Hanover went to the top of her list. It was important to her that it was not necessary to "buy into" her apartment and see much of her hard earned savings diminish overnight. Once there, Traditions quickly became home as she developed many close friends. Activities were many and she chose those that gave her the most enjoyment. In addition to friendship with other residents she became very close to the staff. To the folks who work at Traditions the residents were much, much more than a paycheck. They really do care about the people who lived there. That fact was obvious not only to Mom, but all of our family that the staff felt that bond. She loved that her family was close and visited often and that she could participate in family activities.
Mom only lived in three places in her 92 plus years. Traditions was as much as a home to her as where she grew up and spent her adult life.

Living at Traditions of Hanover

It is almost 4 years since I moved into Traditons of Hanover. It ia the best decision I made for myself. I checked out several other places before I came here.
When I was trying to find a new home close to my family, they all came with me. My grandsons are EMTs with East Allen Township Ambulance Corps. They have been in many of the areas Independent and Assisted Living residences. They gave each one the third degree about saftey features and procedures. Traditions passed with flying colors.
When I walked into Traditions for the first time with my daughter, I said, "This feels like home." The food from the dining room smelled and tasted delicious. The residents were all talking, laughing and enjoying each other's company. My daughter went over to several tables and asked the residents if this was a place that she would be comfortable with her mother living here. Everyone of them said yes. They were right.
Traditions has so many activities and programs you can be out of your apartent the entire day if you choose. If you want excercise, they have 5 different kinds: Zumba Gold, Balance,Strength and Mobility, Chair Arobics and Chair Yoga. I could write an entire page talking about the activities, but I won't. I'll just say they have, art classes, jewelery making classes with beads, a writing group, card games, trips to shopping centers, Happy Hours with great entertainment and so much more.
Come join our community, all are welcome.

A culture of care and service

It is easy to rate Traditions with 5 stars because the environment has been nothing but uplifting. It was difficult to get our 90 year old mother to agree to a move but the kindness, care and concern that the staff showed guided us and eased her into the transition. When asking our Mom now if she likes her new home, her response is "What is there not to like!".

When visiting Traditions, what immediately stands out are the residents you meet on the porch, in the halls and on the elevators who are all pleasant, helpful and friendly. I view it as a culture that starts with the director and all of her staff who are amazingly kind and friendly. It is a model organization where great customer service given by people who sincerely care creates a positive environment for all.

In terms of the apartments, food, activities, and amenities--they are all great and that is what keeps everyone smiling!

A beautiful life for my beautiful mom

My mom has been at Traditions for over a year now. Not only has it enhanced her wellness and wellbeing I believe it saved her life. The amenities, the staff, and the community have been a tremendous gift to my mom and our family. We love being a part of the beautiful life at Traditions!

I love Traditions and their employees

I cannot say enough about Traditions of Hanover! From the director all the way through to maintenance they are equally kind, caring and you know they really like their jobs by their attitude. Nothing is too much for them to do for anyone at anytime.
I can feel comfortable when I leave my Mother that she is good hands and should there be any irregularity with her I can always count on someone calling me and alerting me within minutes, regardless of the time of day.
Traditions has my seal of approval 100%.

Mom's Happy

When we were attempting to relocate Mom for safety we chose Traditions of Hanover. The management at Traditions of Hanover watch over their residents as if they were their own parents.

Leaving your home and downsizing can be difficult if the right staff is not watching over your loved one. When an emergency arises they are their to look after your love one.

The residents watch out for each other and the food is great. Residents can decorate their apartments as THEY see fit.

A great place to live!

Mom is "Home" at ToH!

When my mom was in search of an Independent Community in the Lehigh Valley, we visited Traditions of Hanover, among other places. What set ToH aside from the others was the warm and oh-so-welcoming feeling we both had, right from the start. We were made to feel right at home - not just by the staff, but by the residents. The sales person that met with us barely had to say a word to us... the residents themselves kept coming up to us telling us about their experiences since moving to ToH. Now... over 3 years later... my mom still says that moving here was the best decision she's ever made. She is never bored, never lonely, never hungry (the food is AMAZING!), and never feels even for a second upset about living here. The staff is incredible (from the young gals who help out at meal time and cleaning to the top management) – they all truly care about the residents. I’ve not met a single staffer that thinks of their duties there as a “job”.
She loves living there, but from my perspective, I’m so very grateful for Traditions of Hanover and the positive experience they’ve provided for my mom after having to leave her home of over 50 years.

From A Place for Mom to Traditions of Hanover

After a couple of years, looking for an Independent Living facility that we liked and could afford, we called A Place for Mom. They were wonderful and put us in touch with Traditions of Hanover. What a great move we made ! The staff and residents are such great people! It's as close to home as we could imagine and every day is a different day. Never boring ! It's so nice that our children want to move here!

doing better than expected

Traditions Of Hanover is going very well. Everything is great. She is doing better than expected. We moved her in a few weeks ago and were unsure as to how she would do. She has gained weight and made friends. I have no complaints. All appears to be going great at this facility.

Seemed nice

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

We were very happy with what we saw there and spoke to a few of the residents who raved about how good the food is. (when we got there it was during lunch and it smelled wonderful!) The apartments are a very nice size, including the Studio apt. with large closets. The only concern we have is that the day staff all goes home at night and only the Complex Manager is there....she lives on site.
We were told that they do conduct Fire Drills and residents are told which stairwell to meet at and a staff member is assigned a certain stairwell to do a head count. At night, there is no one there except the live in Manager, so we are wondering what happens then.
The other drawback is Studio apartments are in high demand (because they are more affordable) and they don't have many of them and the waiting list for one is long.

I’m so glad you had a great experience at Traditions! I hope that you’ll stay for lunch on your next visit so you can taste AND smell our delicious meals! I want to follow up on your concern for fire safety. I completely understand. We take the danger seriously too. In addition to the Fire Drills that you mentioned, the building does have automated fire doors that are activated in the case of an emergency so a fire would be contained. The Fire Department is right around the corner and their first priority would be resident evacuation (if necessary.) All I can tell you is that when we did a fire drill with emergency responders, we had 80 firefighters, police officers and EMTs participate. They know our building and residents and understand what is required to keep them safe.

A Great Experience

We have been blessed to have my mother reside at Traditions of Hanover. This is the best possible location for my mother at age 90+. She has made new friends and has so many opportunities for activities and travel to local stores and events. Although I live within 40 minutes of her, after a long work week, I don't always have the energy to stop by and see her. But with her living at Traditions, I know that she has everything that she needs.

She 'checks in' daily with the staff, who are more like family. They know each resident by name, which also made this a big part of our decision.

If you have a loved one who is self-sufficient, but needs to move from their own residence, this is definitely a great place. Our mother was included in the decision to move, which was not easy for a very independent woman who lived on her own for almost 20 years.
Our family is now at ease knowing that Mom is safe, and has friends close by. They also provide many in-house musical and social events which are included in her monthly rent. What could be better!

Thank you Traditions and JM for not giving up on finding the best location for Mom. It has proved to be a life blessing for our whole family!

Nice place, overall

Overall things have been very good at Traditions of Hanover. It is a very nice, clean facility, and the staff have been very friendly and accommodating. Like many senior communities there is a much higher percentage of women than men, and I think it is nice that they arrange activities just for men every now and then for some "guy time".

Very nice place!

Our experience with Traditions of Hanover has been a good one! The staff are incredibly accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. They really went above and beyond when it came to facilitating the move-in, and they've remained equally as present and helpful throughout our loved one's stay. They have a lot of day to day help and amenities available, including morning check-ins, van service, etc. The food was also great; high quality and plentiful portions!

I really liked this place. ...

I really liked this place. The set up is nice, the rooms are roomy, and I liked the atmosphere. I think that mom would thrive here, but again, I'm not sure of her finances. There was a mention of a 'tic' program that may be able to assist her. I will definitely check this out, and speak to mom about this location.

Outstanding! I'd give them 10 out of 5!

We are so happy that we found this place, Mom absolutely loves it! We were impressed by this place from the moment we walked in. The marketing person we spoke with, Megan Sedlock, was like a ray of sunshine! She was so helpful and so friendly during the whole process.
Now that Mom has moved in we almost can't get a hold of her, they keep her so busy with all the activities! This place has a very friendly and social atmosphere, and all of the residents seem happy. The food is also great! We'd definitely recommend taking a look at this place.

Traditions of Hanover makes you feel right at home

The staff and fellow residents at Traditions of Hanover really went out of their way to welcome my mother to their facility. They were especially kind and thoughtful by providing a resident to "mentor" my mom to assist her in acclimating to her new surroundings and schedules. Megan and Jennifer anticipate needs and communicate with all concerned very effectively. They seem to know each resident personally and make everyone feel at ease. Everyone involved makes this place feel like a true, intimate and caring community.

Very Helpful!!

Molly sent me places I never heard of, Traditions of Hanover was an AWESOME find!

Thank you can not say it all!

Very friendly and personabl...

Very friendly and personable to us. Nice facility that truly engendered a community feel and warm atmosphere. My mom liked the food and the people she interacted with. This may be a good match for her. She said she liked this facility best, but in some ways preferred Sterling Heights.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Traditions of Hanover. The warm, friendly culture is something that we believe sets us apart! I hope you’ll bring your mom back again so that she can become even more comfortable with the idea of calling Traditions ‘home.’

Quality is King

They could use a little more activities and they could expand the activities. After meeting them I was impressed with community. Comparing it to another community I had viewed there was a huge difference in the quality of the help, the services. Traditions really truly care about its residents. Dad is very happy with the food, there is a variety and the quality of the food is great. Located in a very quiet neighborhood, with a medical facility right across the street. There is a grocery market within walking distance with a pharmacy that delivers.

Visited the site on Tuesday 4-22-13, very nice and they were extremely helpful. Megan Sedlock was very helpful. Honestly I think Esther needs more personal care that Traditions of Hanover has to offer. We are seriously looking at Atria, and they have a special going on that makes the price very similar to Atria.

Only has independent living.

From the Community

Opportunity and choice are what Traditions of Hanover brings to seniors in the Lehigh Valley. Traditions of Hanover provides opportunity for seniors who might not be able to afford a retirement community because of its financial structure. Traditions features no entrance fees and a month to month leasing option. It provides choice for people who thought that they had to wait until they became ill or needed nursing care before they could think about making a move to downsize.

Located conveniently behind Wegmans at Rte. 512 and 22, Traditions adds an important new alternative for seniors to the Lehigh Valley. Seniors who are still able to care for themselves, seniors who want to remain in control of their own finances, and seniors who are looking for the companionship and socialization offered in a senior living community need to see the opportunity that Traditions offers and make the choice for themselves!
