Customer Reviews

A very lovely place and they were cleaning and updating while I was there. Rooms are large and encouraged to make it homey. Lots of areas for activities.

Nice place for mom

Staff was very proactive with medical issues and prompt with communication. Safe, secured, clean environment. I would highly recommend this facility.

A brother’s view of Saucon Valley Manor

Saucon Valley Manor has proven to be an excellent facility for my sister to live. Her independent status is monitored closely and her ability to move on to assisted living followed by nursing services is controlled by SVM. This makes my sister’s life easier and gives me peace of mind. Most importantly, SVM has delivered on everything they advertise as a facility - it is an outstanding place to live and enjoy one’s last year’s.

Saucon Valley is a reliable organized facility

We were greeted and well informed about the Manor upon our first tour. Saucon Valley Manor was very well maintained, orgainized facility with friendly staffers. The only consistent downfall to this facility is lack of a front line receptionist after hours accepting phone calls. Unfortunately my mom passed after 11/2 months residing there due to progressive Alzheimer Disease. We are still waiting on a response as to why additional funds where withheld.

Thank you so much for your review of Saucon Valley Manor. The health, comfort, and care of our residents is our top priority. We greatly appreciate you trusting your loved one with us. Your questions have been referred to the billing office and we encourage you to reach out with any questions.

Beautiful facility

In the process of finding an independent living facility for my 88 year old dad. Went on a tour and was quite impressed. The apartments available are in a brand new building and are really nice! They are also in the small town of Hellertown, so those that are mobile can walk to several types of businesses. Now we just have to convince dad that he needs to make that move!

A happy engaging home

My mom is in the memory card unit and she is very happy there. She is very active and the staff makes sure she has things to do. She helps with activities and she loves the staff's attention, did I mention she is very social so this was a good fit for her. We are very happy with our choice!

This is a good facility with good resources. The staff were helpful and the monthly charges are reasonable. Because it's retrofitted from a school, I found the layout a little confusing. This isn't the fault of Saucon Manor, it's just the best they would work it.

I have moved my mom here after her spending 6 years in a [removed]. I have to say the quality of care and attention to her care needs are far superior here. After dealing with MANY years of similar care with the same person (mom) I can provide some helpful advise. Saucon has gotten it right! Their attention to her specific care needs, rehabilitation coordination and provision are professional and appropriate for her higher level needs. If anyone is new to this process, listen to a place for mom advisors and look at the whole package and type of care your loved one needs. Also be mindful of the facility's cost schedule and contract. Facilities can have reasonable BASE charges and contracts and rate schedules that add up to DOUBLE the base rate. Don't be shocked or caught off guard, do your homework first. This place is the real deal. Beware of any [removed], I have see their quality decline, care for residents diminish and fees skyrocket in the past few years!

Received call from [name removed]?. I called back and spoke with [name removed] (I believe). We discussed my wife's level of care required (Level 4) and she quoted me some costs. I made an appointment to visit at noon on [date removed]

SVM is just a possible for me.
It works from a financial aspect.
The facility is ok. I would like to find better.
[Name removed] , who actually did my interview, was very personable, informative and pleasant. We had a very good interview.
However, I was not happy with the level of communication of the staff.
My appointment was never officially confirmed by anyone at SVM, even after I left two voice mails and an email.
And it wasn't until the morning of the tour that I was able to get a final confirmation.

Very well run place, smart intelligent staff. Recommended!

My Parents Love it Here

Making the decision to move both my parents to a personal care facility wasn't easy, but Saucon Valley Manor's warm, compassionate staff and high-level safety protocol made it easier. I can truly trust the staff to take care of my parents because they are always in a great mood when I come to visit.

Great, All-Inclusive Care

I definitely appreciate the all-inclusive care at Saucon Valley Manor, especially after an unpleasant and expensive experience elsewhere. You really get a great sense of community and friendship between residents and staff alike, and my dad loves it here so far.

New units under construction but existing campus is cut up and dated. No outdoor facilities.

Great environment

Saucon Valley Manor’s wonderful staff and uplifting environment are the two most notable things for me whenever I visit my father. I always feel welcome and know that he is in good hands - not to mention he loves the community and the friends he has made here. I was relieved to find such a nice place for my father.

Staff Who Really Cares

My family and I have just started our search for a home for our mother, and Saucon Valley Manor is by far the friendliest location we have toured so far. All the staff knows the names of the residents who are passing by them in the halls, and the residents seem very happy. We are still in the process of joining, but feel very comfortable that this is the right community for her.

Moms Happy

My mom is happy so I'm happy, The staff here are friendly and address mom's needs. The food is great there and lots of activities although mom will not attend they are available. The keep it clean and grounds are nice as well. I overall give them a 3 out of 5 stars.

Good Care for Dad

I like this community for my father's care. The staff is caring. The community is clean and we are happy with the vaariety on the menu. They offer activities for the residents are very helpful. We would recommend this community for the care of a loved one.

A good time

My grandma had a good respite stay at this community. The food was good. The staff did everything they were supposed to do to care for her. The community was clean and we would use this community again for a respite stay.

Didn't Provide Level Of Care That Is Needed

For the time that my aunt was here, she was happy and liked it. However, as time went on I decided that my aunt was going to need more extensive care than what they were able to provide. The staff was very nice and helpful here very attentive. My aunt was on a special soft mechanical diet so she wasn't very happy with that. The community was always clean and well maintained.

Not A Community I Would Recommend

I would not recommend this community to anybody. My tour lasted only ten minutes, and that was because I was trying being nice. This community is filthy. I felt bad for the residents that were living in this facility. I have seen better Medicaid facility that had better a better looking appearance. They need major improvement with the cleanliness of their community.

Really Friendly Tour

Everybody in this community was very kind, and friendly to my family, and I. This is a huge community. They had a very nice indoor courtyard. The staff we met was polite, and my questions were answered. It was a good experience, but I did not feel this was the right fit for my parents, and their needs.

One hundred percent satisfied

My aunt is very happy living at this community. The care and the assistance we received when she moved in was fantastic. She is happy with the food and they offer good choices. They go out shopping and bring in petting dogs for the residents. Her room is beautiful, spacious and has hardwood floors throughout. The staff and care she receives is excellent. They keep the community extremely clean and I would highly recommend it.

I am loving it here!!

I have no complaints of how things are going for me so far at this community. I absolutely love it and could have not picked a better place for me to live. The staff have all been wonderful to me and have welcomed with open arms into my new living environment. I enjoy the meals they provide us as well as the different activities they have going on throughout the week. Overall I am satisfied and would defiantly recommend it to anyone.

Good Tour Overall

My sister toured this community for my mother, and her needs. Overall she said her tour went well, and she liked this community. It is a nice community, and everything went well. We did find another community that suited our needs better.

Saucon Valley Manor We toured this community. The staff was very informative and she did not give us a lot of information on what care is given. The community did not impress us and we felt like they did not want to assist us. We did not get information on the meals or if they offer activities for the residents. Other families might consider getting information for the care of a loved one from this community

Mom is Well at this Community

This is a nice community, and so far everything is working out pretty with my mothers move here. They are taking good care of her, and her needs overall. The staff is kind, and helpful when needed. They do a good job with the cleanliness. Everything is working in the right direction for us at this community, and I would recommend it.

I like living here

The staff at Saucon Valley are very friendly and helpful. They offer daily activities and they keep the community clean. The food is good and they offer good sized portions. There is a nice trail in the back that you are able to walk down. I would recommend this community.

My mother does not join in with the activities, but I must say I am really pleased with the cleanliness and care that is given to her. Everyone is very pleasant and help with any need that arises.

My experience

Sometimes they run short on second and third shifts.
Considering her condition she is doing well. It is a nursing home so there are the typical moans and groans that come with that but that is expected.

I liked the 2 bedroom apt. there was an adaquate amt of storage space. A great little kitchen and the master bath had a walk in shower with built in wide bench. the dining room was nice .We did not have any meals there.

Community with care

This is a nice communiity and we like that the community is clean. The variety of meals are the offer that she does enjoy.the variety of healthy meals. We would recommend this commumity to other families for good care and a value.

Was not impressed with this community!!

I was not very impressed with this community at all during my tour. They had a lot of things that I know for a fact my mother would not do well with. The hallways they had where very narrow and dim. The overall layout was just disappointing in my opinion. They did not even have any activities available for the residents. I would never put my mom in a place like this.

Be More Friendlier

I schedule an appointment to see the community for a potential home for my mom. When I got there I was not impressed with what I saw and felt. The people who were there were rude. Not what I wanted in a community.

Looks Like An Institute

I was not pleased with my tour. It was too institutional looking and I was looking for a more home atmosphere. They were professional and able answer all my questions about the community.

Care and Comfort

The care at this community is outstanding. They keep me informed on her progress. She is very happy with the meals and they offer a good variety. They do offer her activities., but she is not active at this time. The community offers outstanding care with a great value and we have recommended this community to other families.

They Have Such Wonderful Staff

All is well for my mom since being a resident of the community. The staff are amazing for the dementia unit. They make us feel like family and I feel they really are like family too.

The Staff has really been great in transitioning my father into the proper dementia care he needs. Our family loves the facility.

If you're considering a Care Home for a loved one, I highly advise you to pass this one by.

ALWAYS short staffed, constant turnover of staff, poor communications, patients often sit in soiled clothing far longer than they should due to lack of staffing. [Removed] which causes accidents, new staff not oriented to patients conditions and/or needs. The list goes on and on. Bed and chair alarms turned off and not turned back on. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone.

Outstanding care

I like the care from this great community. The staff is outstanding and always keeping me informed on his progress. They offer a nice variety of meals that are served. They do offer activities for the residents. I would be happy to recommend this community for other families seeking excellent care and value for a family member.

The reception area was nice and the director was very informative. We reviewed my Dad's needs and provided me with a brochure with all the necessary information. The facility seemed odor free and clean. Their rates were good, but I'm still favoring Atria.

Tour and care

I toured this community. I was not comfortable with this The menu was nice and appealing. The community is clean and maintained. They do have a lot of activities. We did not find that the other residents to be happy on the tour. We suggest other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

A tour for care

I tour this community. The staff was very nice and caring. They had a good menu and it would offer a nice variety each day. They would not have been able to monitor my mom within the community and that was something that we were looking for. We like that this community is clean and maintained. I would recommend families to see this for good care.

Kind to The Family

We had a good tour of this community. Everything went well, and everyone was very kind. The community looked clean, and well-kept. The staff we met was friendly, and nice. They were very nice too my family, and myself. It was a nice experience.

Saucon Valley Manor is a very good place.

My mother has been at SVM for 1 year. She has Dementia and had been moved to a secured unit 3 months after admittance. I can't be more satisfied with the care she is receiving and the Staff is wonderful. She is safe and she does enjoy most of the activities and has made a few friends which is good for her level. Since she has been there I feel better that I know that she is being cared for
lovingly and respectfully. She is in a very good place.

Just like home

Very nice with large rooms and lots of activities.

New Home for Mom

Nice large rooms and pleasant and helpful staff.

Good Tour But Unable To Choose Them

They gave me a good tour but in the best interest for us it was not as cozy as we wanted. It also would be a disadvantage to visit on a weekly basis. I felt they were not the best priced either. I really enjoyed the positive staff and for them taking the time to show us around the community.

Loving Caring Staff!!

The facility is great, we are very happy with the staff. They are very attentive and genuinely care about my mother. They work together and handle situations very well. The meals are good and varied, The only thing I wish they could improve on is her bathroom sometimes smells like urine, but I know they keep everything else clean.

Not yet!

The community was really nice and we enjoyed the tour. The staff seemed friendly and answered all of my questions and took us around. I did see the residents and they looked happy. I just felt that this was not the right place for my husband.

SVM overall value

My Father feels that SVM provided good space and care for the cost. He states that compared to the previous facility, SVM feels more like home.

Stephanie was wonderful...I like the price points of the program. For our dad a single room would be the only way. I think they ought to consider some flooring upgrades to the rooms and a splash of pain. This is a contender..

My sister and I were impressed with the facility which is an all inclusive rated facility. It had a very homey welcoming feel. We could retain all Mom's doctors and they provide transportation within a 2 mile radius. Staff was friendly and knew all the residents by name. The rooms are all different sizes and the difference between shared and private is the number of beds they put in the room. they have many activities residents can participate in, during our visit there was a local grade school band concert with a school choir later that afternoon. Some of the rooms were right off the cafeteria where snacks and drinks were available at all times. The few open rooms we saw were spacious and could be personalized with her TV and favorite furniture. This was our second favorite place and we could definitely see Mom here.

My Mom LOVED Saucon Manor! The fact that it's so close to my house (I'm her daughter), and how impressed she was, as was I, our search may even have stopped at our first tour. Saucon Manor has gorgeous living quarters, friendly staff, and the residents are happy, seem content and praise the food, staff and comfort. I'm so happy this was our first stop!

My mom's new home

I am happy with the care at this community. The staff are outstanding. The meals are good and alot of basic meals that my mom does like. They do offer my mom alot of activities and she likes getting her nails done. She is participating in bingo and the community meetings and field trips to the store. This has taken alot off of me know she is happy in a large room and I know this is a great home for her. I do recommend the care and value for other families.

one month independent level review

Jury is still out. Pop fell in love with the place and people and i respect his choice. It is a brand new building with shake out issues that are being addressed in ways that are different from the ways i would have chosen. (Different does not make it bad). Protocols are falling into place as well, and ammenities are coming together. (Albeit not at my speed) People are being moved from place to place during renovation; although Pop has not been inconvienenced except for laundry facility move. Pop is being well monitored, cared for medically and enjoys a friendly and good rappore with all the employees in his area. My interactions with the administrative staff have been good and they are understanding. The activities are well below my fathers independent capacity but he is not much of a joiner. All in all a good experience but with some reservations regarding certain changes and choices i have seen made by the facility within the month my father has been there.

Nursing care is great!!

In 2016, 2017, Mom and Dad both lived at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, they were very happy as was our entire family.
They started in Independent Living, Mom moved to first level of Memory Care (as expected).
Dad could visit her anytime and ate his meals with her. The staff was wonderful during the transition
and helped my Dad cope as well (they had been married for 63 years). Family could visit anytime ( and we did often)
unannounced and all we noticed was caring, compassionate, efficient staff. We could discuss habits, changes, medications, with the staff as they knew both Mom and Dad on a daily basis. Mom moved several times to other memory care units in SV as her Dementia declined at a quick pace.
Each level was more care and more compassion and incredibly skilled care and each move they helped Dad to cope with the changes in his wife.
Dad continued to live in his spacious apartment. We knew Saucon Valley could meet their needs and they
would be safe and well cared for. What an excellent facility !! Best decision we made!

Great place for mom

My mom is in independent living and has settled in well. She enjoys her interaction with the staff and has found everyone helpful and friendly. My only complaint is there should have been an orientation. It took her about two weeks to figure out where things were and how to sign up for activities. However I can't say for sure if she asked for help or just tried to figure it out herself....

The meals are very good, there are daily activities, outings to the grocery store and local restaurants, . She's loving it at The Manor.

Apartment is very accommodating

Apartment is very accommodating, lots of space for my loved one as well as an extraordinary bathroom. My dad really enjoys the food and is very comfortable in the environment he is in. They offer ice cream or salad 24 hours a day for there members and lots of different activities. I love what I have seen they are all around the best choice

I was not impressed!

This is an older building and it did not seem to be very clean. The staff were nice during our tour. This is a distance away from us as well.

Happy at Saucon Valley

So far we have found it to be a place of contentment for Mom. She loves the food and has participated in the exercise program. We like the staff and the location a lot!

A Much Better Community For My Mom

So far it is so good for my mom. She has activities available and has made friends and they make her feel like she is at home. The food that is served is much better too. The community is clean and I think they are doing a good job. I would recommend this community.

A Pleasant Experience

It was a pleasant experience for my mother during her time at this community. She really liked it here, but she did end up needing more care. The community looks great, she had a semi private room. Her room was beautiful, she had a big window that faced mountains with beautiful views. They did try their best to care for her. The residents were very friendly and helped her out when she needed some extra help. The responsive time of the staff could be better. I was happy with this community.

Very friendly staff, but slow call-button response times

In general I think Saucon Valley Manor is a nice place. The people who work here seem very genuine, caring, and are just very nice people overall. They were very communicative and always answered my questions promptly. However, I had one big issue with the service. The response times to the in-room call buttons is VERY slow. Whenever I would visit the call button notification would be going.

The nurses aids at Saucon Valley Manor that were with my mother-in-law were phenomenal. They have a lot of activities here. They have even more than most places do. This facility was just phenomenal. The only thing that I didn't like is when she passed away they have a rule that hospice has to call you and by the time we got there she had passed. I think the facility needs to contact family first. Other than that the place was just awesome. Donna, the receptionist is absolutely delightful at this facility.

the medication mismanagement is huge.

They lost medication, and there were some discrepancies what was given. There were medications that were never given. They need some better staff. It's not the worst place around, but the medication mismanagement is huge.

Saucon Valley Manor keeps my father young and active with all the activities.

Awesome Activities

Saucon Valley Manor keeps my father young and active with all the activities.

Large facility. Seems more institution. Nice staff. Activities. Very dark environment. Reasonable fees.

My mom enjoys being there. The only comment she keeps telling us is the food is lousy. :(. The staff is very good they keep her very active.

Infinitely Better

In my daughters words "They are Infinitely better than the last one" my mother was in. Much nicer, a lot more organized. I had a few minor issues but they are thorough in keeping everything together as far as my mothers care. They need to pay more attention to the little stuff.

There’s no other place like Saucon Valley Manor! Great staff, great food, nice clean facility.

Great place to live!

Good, but not quite what Mom needed

They generally do a good job here. It's nice looking, the staff are friendly, and the cost is not high. Mom needed a bit more care than what they were able to provide, we felt like they did not watch her closely. We also had issues with her shared room, and felt like there was not much effort put into selecting a compatible roommate.

The people were nice and it was clean.

When I visited I found an electrical panel that was unlocked. I had to move a plant to get to it. The people were nice and it was clean.
