Customer Reviews

Good job Worthington

I am a caregiver for a couple that lives here at the Worthington. I have worked at some assisted living places in the past and I find the Worthington to be the best! Very friendly staff, very clean and personable!! You need something they will make sure they get it for you! Keep up the good work Worthington!! P.S. [Removed] and [Removed] is the best to speak with if there is a problem! Good job guys!!

Very nice place. We had lunch with the tour guide and the food was fine. This was an encouraging visit for my mom since she had expected much worse. She felt like she could live here if we found nothing better. It was a great place to start because now we can measure the rest against this.

Caring, Wonderful Community

This is a community I would recommend in a heart beat. It is working out very well for my father with his move to this community. It has really been a positive experience for us since his move here. They have an exceptional staff at this facility. I'am there very often, and they have been very patient, and helpful with anything we may need. Everyone knows my father, and I by our first names. This is a smaller community compared to the other I looked at. However due the fact it is small, they really are able to make everyone feel very special. On his birthday, before I even got there, they already sang happy birthday to him. They even gave him a nice banana split. They have been very accommodating in every way possible. I'am very pleased with all they have done my family.

I love this place. I really wanted to pack my parents things right away and move them in.

Great place!

We didn't get to stay long when we took our brother there but his son has been there many times to check the place out. The apartment was nice and clean. The surroundings looked very beautiful and people were very friendly. When we arrived they had a fire drill and had everyone outside and safe. It was very orderly and secure. Last we talked to our brother he was enjoying activities and sounded so happy. I am glad I called a place for Mom and they helped us find the Worthington.

I am very happy with the staff at this community. We do like the community being very clean and maintained. The meals seem to be good but could use small changes. They do offer a lot of activities. We would recommend this community to other families for care and value for a family member.

Not what we needed!

We really liked this community. It is absolutely beautiful and what we wanted. The only thing is that the community does not offer assisted living which is what my sister needed. The people are great and very nice.

Mommy

From the outside amenities to the lobby, other rooms and dining room made you feel welcome. So far my mom loves it.

Need to get your attitude in check!

I so not feel very happy here. The staff has an attitude when you are trying to get help. They also treat the visitors that way. Also the activities that they have are for children and not an adult. I only eat one time a week and that is when they serve catfish because it is great. Other than that the food is bad. I feel that the staff that takes care of us are under pressure due to the administrative staff.

Not like home at all!

I did like this community and the staff was very helpful on the tour. I just felt like it was a business and not somewhere to live. There were residents that were out and doing things. I also thought that it was to far.

Building was excellent, however, has multiple floors with elevators. Staff and manager very nice. I determined my mother would be better in an assisted living facility opposed to a retirement community. They do offer 3rd part assisted living services.

My Visit

I was able to get a tour of the community. It went well and I got to see all that is offered here. The guide gave me all the information needed.

A Nice Tour

I really liked the community I toured. It was more independent. The room that was shown to us, was on the 3rd floor and far down the hall. I felt this was not the place for this time. It was a nice and clean place.

No Complaints

The staff is very friendly, food is pretty good. The community is clean and the care they provide to the residents is wonderful.

The worthington gets my recommendation!

My parents are still settling into the Worthington. The staff are nice and attentive to them. The food is good and they have a good variety to choose from. They like to participate in a few of the exercise classes. The community is well taken care of.

This place is nice for the "older 85" year olds and up. My Mom does not yet fit that group, which the person who showed us around, acknowledged, after hearing Mom's normal activities and hobbies. So this is simply not a good fit for her. It did seem a very nice setup otherwise. Price here is also prohibitive for us at the moment.

Review of The Worthington - Gahanna, OH

loved the space even in the smallest apt. much larger than a lot of other facilities. Many services offered to assist resident even though this is Independent Living. LOVE the apartments with a balcony. Staff great residents seem happy

Great Tour

I was there for a lunch. I found everyone to be very friendly. People from other tables were interested in talking to me. I felt a real sense of community. The apartments were very nice. I was very impressed with everything I saw.

Great food

This is a very nice facility with spacious rooms and lots of amenities for the residents. The food here is great, the staff is very kind and professional, and there are a ton of different activities to keep the residents involved.

My mother has been there a couple of weeks and so far we are satisfied.

Taking great care of her!

Our experience with The Worthington has been a very good one! It's a clean, nice looking facility, and they've really done a great job taking care of my loved one. We have no complaints!

My mother loved this place she found the food very well prepared and the rooms very nice! It is quite pricey but she really loved it there. Lots of activities for the residents to participate in. High on the list for my mother.

The food is wonderful there...

So far we are very happy with The Worthington. My loved one has came back to life. She is active in everything and participating. She has been getting very involved. The food is wonderful there. Everyone has been very friendly and very welcoming. The staff is helpful. The inside of the facility is very clean and well kept. They have many activities. Everything has been going great. This is an excellent facility.

Absolutely Phenomenal

The Worthington is absolutely phenomenal. We could not be happier. We are very pleased with everything. The facility is clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The value is excellent. I wish we had found it years ago. My mother loves it. It's great. We couldn't ask for anymore. The food is excellent as well. They have many activities to participate in. Everything is just great. The only thing I can't rate is the care services. It's not applicable.

The community was very nice

I toured here when I was looking for options. The community was very nice, from what I remember. I can't really rat the value, care, or activities, but it was really clean and the staff was friendly.

I really liked the place a lot.

I really liked the place a lot. We knew someone that was staying there, which made it even better when we visited. There were some activities going on and everyone seemed really upbeat. It's also quite close to where we are, so that was also a plus.

Not impressed by what we saw

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I was not impressed by what I saw here. The community itself was nice looking and well kept, however we recognized some problems with the staff and the care provided. We discovered that they promised a higher level of care during the sales process than they would actually be able to deliver. The staff themselves did not seem particularly friendly, and when we saw the dining area during our tours the service looked very slow.

I liked this location very much. Bright, clean, modern. The sales staff were extremely nice and very supportive. Sheryle was excellent. Unfortunately, our circumstances changed and we will not be moving forward with our search.

You cannot move into a stud...

You cannot move into a studio, they are all reserved for residents downsizing. Also was very regimented, 'you will be down every morning for breakfast at 8:00'.

The staff was so friendly and let us know how they would be able to help with his needs,

They are very clean, and the staff are great. They are responsive if there is a need or a concern. They have a good variety of activities, for all different interests. There is a home care agency that is onsite, Home Helpers. There have been a few issues with communication, with that company, but we are still trying to work on it. They have good menu options and variety. They put the activities online, and it would be nice if they put the menu out for the family so they can offer encouragement. The staff was so friendly and let us know how they would be able to help with his needs, we thought this would be an easy transition for him.

Very nice look and feel. Well organized and meaningful activities. Great location; Limited availability - only 2 units. I personally know one of the managers who was recently employed there. My only concern is my fathers diagnosis of dementia although he has never wandered off to my knowledge and the residents here have monitors.

My Dad is happy that we chose The Worthington for him. His 1st week has been a good experienced. Most of all he feels accepted and included.

Very friendly residents

This is a nice little community. It's a very nice building, and they always keep it clean and well kept looking, and the staff are all very friendly. I think my favorite part of this place is the residents, however. They are all very friendly and care for each other very much! It's been a great environment for my loved one!

I AM PLEASE WITH THE WORTHINGTON. I LOVE THE PLACE, IT IS CLEAN, FRIENDLY, AND PERFECT FOR MY MOM.

great facility

I have had my mother who is 89 years old at the Worthington since the first of July and have nothing negative to say. The facility is very clean and very up to date in decor and the staff are very helpful and attentive. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a retirement place.

The dining room is very clean and the food is good.

Meals took too long

My mother and her husband surpassed the independent living in about a year and a half, they were here until about April of this year. It was good until they had more needs than what the Worthington was able to get them and they were getting themselves in trouble with their medication. They were always complaining about how the meals weren't as good here and it took them two hours everyday to eat. They would wait until everybody came down to the dining room to serve them and they considered that social time. Mom and her husband were always complaining, they sat with other people and were social but it took way too long to get served.
They had a bus that took them places, they had bingo, they had exercises, cooking classes, different things they could participate in. i always thought they needed more for the men so they could do something with their hands.

Beautiful. Downfall is location and Church services. Still would consider.

Toured. Spectacular facility...

Toured. Spectacular facility but without direct, on-site nursing. Care services Mother would need are separate...showering, medical management, personal laundry, pro-time. However, this is one of the most attractive places we have ever seen and if it is not doable financially it will probably be the last eliminated before the final decision.

My parents chose the Worthington...

My parents chose the Worthington because of the large floorplan option. We toured the Emeritus but the apts were looked like studios, my parents liked the spaciousness of the Worthington because it felt more like home. Their meals are provided by The Worthington; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are multiple floor plans to choose from starting at $1900 and going up to $3500 for the largest two bedroom option. They include utilities and weekly laundry service for towels and sheets. Additional laundry services can be added for a charge.

Building is new (5 years old), light, wide hallways. Staff very friendly. Have excellent activities director and menu chef. There is limited closet space in the apartments, and no extra storage space. Apartments have a small kitchenette with frig but no stove. Living plan there is 3 meals a day. I like their general social service attitude and the variety of activities. The town of Gahanna is a pleasant community. Some places are within walking distance. Grounds are attractive. I love the PORCHES in the apartments. I like the three meals a day and then a very small kitchen. Their tour plan to go and stay at any of the other Holiday centers is very appealing.

Mom and I were both immediately most impressed w/ this place. We were invited by director to join them for lunch. She took lots of time to tell us about the facility and give us a tour. VERY inviting, homey, comfortable appearing. Director seemed very familiar and friendly w/ residents and staff.

beautiful place; gentleman was extremely helpful and kind. No leveled care. On-site manager 24 hours a day, but think she would need more direction and attention. Aid and Assistance could give provide money for someone to come and give her medicine. Too far from me
