Customer Reviews

Not too happy!

What I observed at The Mews, was not very pleasant. There was no warmth felt by the woman that had given me a tour. There was a very musty odor on one of the floors that I toured. Was not too happy.

I apologize for the experience you had but find it unimaginable? I have taken over the realm here since the previous Director's retirement and cannot think of a better place to have my parents live in. It is a thriving community with a wonderful staff and residents! Perhaps you should visit again a year later.

We do indeed have lots of available activities but NONE are mandatory. We offer so many activities hoping to find one that might be of interest. I do believe in socializing as an important aspect to any senior living residence.

Not sure what is dreary. The outside is brick (if that is the dreary part) as it is a building built in the 1980's. That cannot be changed . The interior is constantly updated. It appears you have not been here in awhile. See for yourself.

We took the tour. Mom was apalled at the smallness of the room.

Sizes do begin at 220 square feet which are normally furnished and used as respite room. However what make us unique are the possibilities in terms of size. We can convert to two bedrooms with possibilities in size of over 100 square feet.

That was 2012 and the rent has only increased by approximately 20% since which comes to approximately 3% per year . These costs have gone completely into building improvements such as new bathrooms in every apartment and a 1.2 million dollar heating and air conditioning system

From the Community

The Mews is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, dedicated to keeping senior citizens living independently in Greenwich as long as possible. We attract residents from close and far, including Greenwich, Cos Cob, Darien, Rye, and other communities throughout the Northeast. It is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Volunteers from Hortulus, Garden Club and other organizations, supplement a devoted, long-term team of professionals providing for The Mews residents.

Built in 1970, The Mews was the first senior living residence in downtown Greenwich. Enlarged and upgraded throughout the years, the non-profit Mews lives on today as a testimony to Mrs. Rockefeller's vision and compassion for others.
