Customer Reviews

We loved this place! From the moment you walk in you are made to feel right at home. It’s absolutely incredible. We met various residents, they all seem extremely happy with their choice to live here. We also met the social director, a very warm and enthusiastic woman who seems to love her job. And [name removed], our guide, was an absolute gem! She is so warm, and so welcoming, and so keyed in to crafting an environment that is nurturing for the residents. They put a lot of thought into creating a community that is conducive to happiness for seniors and it really seems to be working beautifully! This place, with this staff is very special.

A fantastic Place

Mom had a good experience while she lived at this community. They did offer some nice activities. She loved the food. The staff were wonderful. I would recommend this community.

Working Out Well

So far everything is working out great for my father here at this community. It is a nice retirement community, and I'am satisfied with all they have done for us. He is right next to the community my mother is located at, and he can go to visit her whenever he wants too. This community is a nice convenient location for us. All is well for us at this community.

Not licensed according to the terms of the Long Term Care policy. Very nice place and [Removed] was a wealth of knowledge.

Nice people, nice place no stress

My grandmother was at the inn for about 2 years and did very well there. The company that cared for her Honestead was good with her. She was very independent but needed help and wasn't always accepting of it but they managed to keep her comfortable and safe. The inn is a fun place and [Removed] the activities person is great. I have recommended this place to other people and those that moved in have all thanked me for the recommendation. Large rooms, clean, everything included made it easier on me to write out only one check every month and not have to deal with utility company bills and issues. This made it less stress on me while she was happy. Win win.

A nice place!!

The staff at this community are efficient. The community is clean and in a beautiful area. They offer a variety of activities for the residents to stay active. I am not sure about the food as I have not tried it.

ThevInn at Cass Lake

Great place. My dad gets great meals
and is starting to meet new "friends"

Nice place!

Things have turned out very well with The Inn at Cass Lake. It's a nice looking, clean facility, and the staff all seem very friendly. My loved one has settled in well and really seems to be enjoying herself here. I would recommend it to anyone looking into senior living in the area!

Very nice place

We're very pleased overall with The Inn at Cass Lake! It's taken my loved one a little bit to adapt and settle in, but overall it is a very nice place.

Friendly, helpful staff

Overall I think they do a good job at The Inn at Cass Lake. The administrative staff always seem very professional, genuine, and accommodating when I talk to them, and the on-site care company they work with does a good job looking after the residents. The facility itself is nice looking, and I think they do a good job with the food as well.

Good care

They are very helpful, friendly and trustworthy.

Looked nice, but staff were not very helpful

We visited this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. Physically this is a very nice looking place, the facility is clean and well kept. However, I was not pleased with the management here at all, the tour was not informative and did not inspire confidence.

Friendly staff, and great food!

Our experience with The Inn at Cass Lake has been a good one! The managers they have running it are good people, everyone has been very friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. The facility itself is well kept, clean, and organized. They also do an excellent job with the food here! The service can be a bit slow, but the food is always home cooked and delicious!

Great for active seniors!

Things have worked out great here so far! My Dad really needed somewhere he could stay busy and social, and The Inn at Cass Lake really fits the bill. It's like a big cruise ship! They've got all sorts of activities, great food, and the staff all seem very attentive and professional. This is a great place for someone who likes to stay active!

Inn at Cass lake

Everyone was friendly, helpful and accommodating . My mom Is doing great.

I love it!

I love it! He really likes. The value has been good. The physician is a little hard to get a hold of. Everyone else is very responsive and attentive. The food is good, and he came late and they even fed him. They are very accommodating. This was my first choice, when it came to value and cleanliness.

She is really happy there, but the management definitely needs work.

The cleanliness is exceptional. They have two separate managers, that live within the facility. There are two husband and wife teams, Margita is on top of things, but her husband is not very professional, he was telling stories about other residents, and making light of some things, that were delicate. We were told that if one resident passed away the place was ours. I felt like there was a breach of confidentiality. When we got there we were promised a map and orientation packet, so she could locate where things were, that was not available. No one called us to get the contract signed, I had to do all the initiating. The fees weren't explained clearly, or up front. The administration could pull it together a little bit. The other manager Bill was better, but even he reminded me a little of a used car salesman. There was nothing to clearly let her know what to do or who to call if she needs some maintenance. They have a bussing system that is nice. The chef is wonderful, they have multiple entrees to choose from. They have an extensive library. She is really happy there, but the management definitely needs work.

Poor Management

I have had two experiences with this place.
The first time around my grandmother and grandfather moved in together in the summer of 2012. The Inn at Cass Lake was under going construction at the time and everyone seemed very chaotic/busy.They were so busy that my grandparents both felt like they had been forgotten about. They were never explained their routines, rules or regulations. It was a very awkward transition, and ended with my grandmother on verge of a mental breakdown after two nights of the fire alarms going off.
They left after 2-3 weeks.

My grandfather passed away on the first of 2013. Due to some circumstances, my grandmother decided to give The Inn another try.
We told them she would not be staying long, she was only looking for a place to transition in while another apartment was set up.
The agreed she could stay in a fully furnished room for a month.
Again, my grandmother was not explained the rules and regulations. They just expected her to know because she had been there the year before.
I finally confronted them, after she had been "talked to" by Bill for "Sitting in the wrong spot."
She moved out after a month, and has received a bill for 3 months rent.

These are the observations my family and I have made:
o They tell you there are no assigned seating for meals, but there is. Everyone already has a place they like to sit with certain people, they do not move, and you are expected -not- to sit in their seats.
o Management is cold to their residents. They poor coffee without looking at them, saying "good morning" or even smiling.
o There is NO communication between management. One person will tell you one thing, another will call and ask you what's going on.
o I saw a man sitting in a hallway, very upset. He said he had not eaten all day long (it was around 7 or 8 at night when I talked to him), that they had told him they would bring his meals to him because he wasn't feeling well. I notified a nurse, she got anger and said it wasn't her job to take food to him. She talked to Bill, he said he had made a note for them to do it. Again, an example of poor communication on their behalf.

During the month my grandmother stayed there, they showed her apartment 3 times. Twice without letting her know they were going to do it and just showed up. Then they questioned why she was moving out and argued with her that she had another 2 months left. Why would anyone want to stay somewhere that they're invading your privacy like that?

Overall, just very, very poor management.
There are some really great nurses and staff there, but the rest need to get their act together. They are caring for people, not livestock.

Very caring, thoughtful and helpful staff. Love that the 4 managers live on site and they know and interact with all the residents. The activities director is very enthusiastic and involved with the residents. Wonderful chef and wait staff, and excellent food. Overall, extremely happy with the experience so far.

We LOVED this place! Very bright, cheery, and homelike. The monthly fee is all inclusive (meals, housekeeping, activities). The staff and residents all seemed extremely happy and friendly. A person is allowed to stay in the same room and just add services as needed. Super nice! This is the place for our Mom!
