Beware if you are looking to purchase the privilege to live at this senior living community. Read the contract and consider your return on investment. You will not own your housing. Ownership of your housing is kept with the Sanatoga Ridge Community. Should you need to move out of the community for health reasons, return on your investment is at the mercy of the Sanatoga Ridge community selling your unit. Sanatoga Ridge Senior Community will continue to charge an association fee until your unit is sold whether you live in the unit or not. Think twice before putting money into a housing unit you do not own. You will not have control of the sale of the unit once you move out.
My wife and I are both able to care for ourselves at this time. We are looking to the future to see options for having food provided and personal care if required. We also don't want to live in one room right now. We had a very nice tour of the community. There is a nice selection of apartment types and sizes and the setting is very nice. The Community offers only emergency services and no meals. Take out meals could be delivered by nearby markets. If you get to the point that you need assistance, you have to bring in outside third parties. You have to "buy" the unit you live in. You never actually own it but you pay the cost of the unit to the Community. When you move out you get 90% back. They will suggest other communities if you develop dementia. The monthly rent is reasonable.
