Customer Reviews

Things are okay...

I wish she was more social.I spoke with her yesterday and let know that they offer shuttle services and she wasn't aware. They do encourage her to be more involved but it is up to her. She complains about the food and says there isn't enough options. I chose this community because it is close to home and they gave the best impression.

I moved my friend to Brookdale and it has been amazing. The greatest asset that the company has is Nancy, I cant even say enough good things about her.I would encourage anyone who is looking for a place to go on a visit.

highly recommend

Mother is going back to Brookdale Danville Diablo Road on Saturday actually. The staff was terrific there. I looked at several places and this one seemed to have the best value. One thing I did find annoying is I had to keep calling them to get everything finalized to get mom in. I have a lot going on and I wish I didn't have to follow up quite as much to get things done. But the staff was really good with her especially considering she doesn't like being away from me. I highly recommend this facility to anyone especially for short term respite care. Most places don't allow anyone to stay for just 10 days, this one does.

Going well so far

Our experience with Brookdale Danville has been a good one overall. I don't have much experience with other facilities to compare it to, but the staff here is very friendly and professional, and the facility itself is well kept and clean.

The Emeritus at Diablo Lodge was great. My mom had a good experience while she was there. I'm satisfied with the services provided and care they gave her.

Two studios can be combined. Long and maze-like hallways. Dad will get lost inside. My guide the day of my visit was new staffer, Liz Boyd.

Tighten up the quality control and dim down the attitude

there is a bit of a disparity in care from weekend to weekday, and from daytime to evening - whereas it is understandable that care/assistance may be less timely on 'off' hours - the standard of care, effectiveness of the support staff - and attention to detail was definitely dependent on the 'shift'. I would like to see this be tightened up - and quality control across the board improved. On several occasions, when my father had urgent toilet needs, the staff member answering the call - would say - 'you know, the more you hit that button, the more we charge...." unprofessional, discourteous and flamingly rude. Also, the alternative meals - are not varied enough, nor do they change often enough. my father is 'fussy' about his food/meals and would commonly opt out of the main course in favor of an alternate - the alternates rarely would change

Respite for Mom in recovery

Diablo Lodge was a peaceful, restful experience for Mom as she recovered here for 2 weeks following a major surgery. The staff were helpful, attentive, professional, courteous and friendly. My whole family was very pleased with the overall experience.

Nice Place

It's very nice place for those who just need assistance but not memory care. My chorus performs there twice a year so I've had a change to see the community a few times. It's actually a two story place and very well maintained They don't cater to memory care but if you need some assistance with things like meals, cleaning, cooking, etc., but you're still pretty active, this is a nice place. My mom needed a little more help so we had to go with another place.
