Customer Reviews

You're on your own in a hurricane

Here's the question to ask if you are entrusting them with your family; what do you do with these folks during a hurricane? From my current experience and complaints from 2 residents they are told to leave or sit on the 2nd floor in the hall, no chairs, no beds, no bathroom, no phones, electric and no food, not even PB&J sandwiches, chips and water, no services they promote
, no staff, no medical. They will not use their buses to transport to the airport, hotels or emergency shelters. They tell your family they should be able to pick up and leave the state to get away from a hurricane. So the 24/7 care, medical, security, meals is only for good weather. Given the cost there should be a refund of days away, refund for living at another rental and food. But the good news is they will give you a piece of paper so you can try and make your way to a shelter with the reminder to bring a blanket and to take cash with you. Clean up this place, take care of these folks that pay a lot of money and do what you promote. BTW. The food is no better than cheap cafeteria food.

Growing old gets better at Aston

My wife and I love Aston Gardens and have called it home for five years. The staff is so kind and professional taking care of us both as we age with different needs. Chef Brad is wonderful and his food is delicious. Not only is dining our favorite thing, we often invite guests to join us that rave about the service and food. Everything I need is taken care of for me each day. I could not be happier and more content with my life. Thank you Aston Gardens for giving me piece of mind and a place to grow old in.

Thank you for the review D. Chef Brad is indeed a superb culinary master and leads a team of remarkable professionals in delivering a sensational dining experience each day at Aston Gardens At Pelican Pointe. We are happy you have found a home with us and look forward to continuing to provide you the care and services you need so you can truly enjoy your retirement years.

Don't let the glamor fool you.

If you are active, healthy, socially involved, and want to be close to a vibrant community, this is NOT the place for you.

They do a great job selling you in the place, will helps you move in, decorate, buy you flowers, and that is it. The dining plan (required) is mediocre at best, the sense of community is nil. The place looks abandoned, like a ghost town, 24/7.

Don't be fooled. Save you $3-5000 a month, and buy a condo, or find a more engaged and active place to live, closer to Venice, Naples, Sarasota.

Going Downhill

I feel like I'm watching a slow motion train crash. The food at Aston Gardens is pretty bad now. My parents do not like eating there, though everyone has to pay for the dining room. Prices keep going up as the center cuts back on amenities and finds new fees to charge. Aston Gardens should allow their tenants to have a say in the community and listen to them, rather than imposing changes by fiat.

Mom has everything she needs there.

Mom has everything she needs there. She is getting a lot of hands on care. She takes part in activities and they [the staff] work with her. It's very nice. Her room has two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Gorgeous master bathroom and they [the staff] do all the cooking and cleaning for her. She's doing well there.
