Fantastic experience with Arbor Terrace at Crabapple

My 88-year old father was a resident at Arbor Terrace at Crabapple for about nine months. He was in independent living with medication management and supportive care from the wellness center that addressed his needs as he was recuperating from a variety of ailments.
I cannot say enough good things about AT at Crabapple....there is not ONE person there that I do not like or have had issues with while my father was there. The entire staff is kind, extremely helpful, professional and know what they are doing....there were no "burn outs" like I saw at other facilities. I wish I could write names, but this forum restricts that...but the management is always available and responsive, the front desk ladies are always helpful and kind, the wellness center is beyond fantastic, the program director is a gem.....all the way to the cleaning staff, assistants, etc.
The rooms were clean and were kept clean. OH and the first person we met (senior care counselor) went above and beyond helping us get our father into AT at Crabapple. and the maintenance man on site was always amazingly fast and knowledgeable with installing various items, helping us fix a chair in our room, etc.
I do not have one regret for choosing AT at Crabapple for my father. There were so many other facilities where I didn't feel good about placing my Dad, but now that we've gone full circle, I can still say that I have no regrets, and we chose wisely. I was dropping off some prescription boxes back today at AT at Crabapple, and was chatting with the executive director and pretty much sharing what I am saying here...and I normally can't "gush" this much about a place or service, as these days, most businesses do not walk the walk and have inconsistent service. AT walked the walk with us, and we are extremely grateful. I couldn't recommend a facility any more than I do with AT....and often do to fellow friends.

Decline in Quality

The staff is kind but overwhelmed in the memory care unit - the Arbor model does not permit hiring of more staff, so the residents get short changed by having to wait for assistance with feeding, dressing, etc. Many of these tasks end up being done by family members when they are visiting. Clothing often goes missing, as do linens and towels, even it they are labeled with the resident's name. Arbor also advertises as an "age in place" facility, meaning residents can stay until they pass away. However, be warned that if administration determines your loved one requires too much care, you can receive 30 days notice that you must move them elsewhere. Administration has changed in the last 18 months, which has led to a lot of changeover in staff - it is not the quality place it once was. I would not recommend Arbor Terrace at Crabapple.

Overall very positive.

We have been very pleased with Arbor Terrace Crabapple for our mother/mother-in-law. The staff is very friendly and helpful to us as well as the resident.
They offer a good variety of activities for the residents.
We feel that the security in place gives us peace of mind.
We have our family member in the enhanced level of care, for which there is an extra charge, and we feel that it is worth it.

Happy Professional Staff

My mom has been here for 6 weeks. We chose this memory care facility because the residents and staff seem happy. 6 weeks later we see the same. The staff is professional and helping mom through all of her transition issues without complaints to us. That's a refreshing change.

Caring Enviroment

My mother has been here for 4 months and loves it. I couldn't say enough good things about it. The employees are caring and kind

Disappointed in our choice of assisted living

All fluff. The staff does not seem to know what is going on. They seem very confused. Not impressed. Not impressed at all. Arbor Terrace Crabapple portrays a very "hands on" and "on top" of assisted living but it is lacking in all respects. My in laws have been there a while and it has not changed Sad for such a high cost of assisted living.

Very nice place!

My parents were here for quite a few years, and overall I thought they did an excellent job caring for them. It was a nice looking place, and the staff were all very friendly. One thing to note is that this is a large facility, and can be difficult to navigate for those with memory issues.
