Customer Reviews

We have been very pleased with the care provided at amber ridge the locked unit provides piece of mind as many are exit seeking when they first arrive, the place is spotless and very homey. The staff is caring and treat the residents with kindness and respect, all of the staff is well trained in dealing with patients at all levels of dementia and redirect appropriately. The building is well maintained and the courtyard garden was a beautiful place to spend time when the weather was good. The food looks good and the residents are given choices as to what they wish to eat. My mom is thriving with the exercise, socialization and three meals a day which she was refusing when in her own home .

Lovely facility. Memory care only.

We toured this community for care for mom. We liked the friendly staff and the clean community that had a lot to offer. We liked knowing that they offered good activities and a nice variety of the meals. We wanted a more home feeling and a small community for her care.We would recommend that other families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

Caring Staff at Amber Ridge Memory Care

Our family is so appreciative of the staff & facility at Amber Ridge Memory Care in Moline, IL. Our dad has lived there for over two months. It is very obvious that every staff member is well trained to work with the Alzheimer's residence. The facility has engaging activities for the residence. The food is yummy and healthy. The outside courtyard in the center of the building is beautiful. The staff creates a very warm, caring and safe atmosphere for all. Our family members are spread over three different states. My siblings and I all feel very blessed having Dad in this wonderful care center.

New Resident

My sister has only been at Amber Ridge for a week, but it was the best choice we could have made for her. She is happy in her own little world and the staff is very attentive to her needs.

Not a Good Fit

Amber Ridge is a facility with two levels. My father had a lower level room where there are about 7 apartments. The lower level was not a good fit for my father because he was too sick to be that far away from the nursing staff.
The lower level is not staffed and the residents are brought upstairs during the day. So they sit in the community room and take naps or play games.
There is only one nurse on duty and three to five aids. On Sundays there isn't any management available at the facility or activities going on.
I would suggest you keep a close eye on your loved one to make sure their needs are being met.

Thank you for your comments I appreciate your feedback about your father’s stay here at Amber Ridge Memory Care.

While there are two levels to our community both levels are fully staffed on all shifts. At Amber Ridge our activity programming is such that we utilize a Montessori method of keeping our residents engaged and fulfilled.

There is a designated “Manager on Duty” on the weekends, including Sundays. The manager on duty is available to the employees, residents, and families for any purpose or assistance. In addition we employ highly trained Certified Nursing Assistants to provide care and programming. Our Resident Services Director is also on call to respond and consult on care issues. I am also available around the clock, 7 days a week, to listen to meet with residents and families.

Everything I saw was very good. The place was clean people very friendly. Had everything I would want for my mom. Answered all the question I had and concerns.

I Wish We Moved Mom In Earlier

I'd give the whole place a good solid 4. The care is good and they have her involved in some activities. I'm not there all the time to see them but I know they took her out last week to the festival of trees. Jane is the administrator of the memory care there and she's really hands on. She's actively engaged and the place is nice. They keep it very clean. There's maybe 40 residents there. She used to be in assisted living with over 100 residents and she's getting much more personalized care at Amber Ridge. I kind of wish I'd moved her a year earlier. They help her with everything. They dress her in the morning for breakfast and her bed is made up first thing - it's really nice. It's kept tidy and clean.

From the Community

Amber Ridge, a memory care community was created to provide additional support for those with memory loss in the Quad Cities area.
In our residential setting, we strive to provide an environment that focuses on the individual and their abilities. Our community is based on person-centered care that engages residents in activities designed to support their independence and help them be successful with every day activities.

All apartments are private and with spacious rooms for your personal belongings and furnishings. Each unit has an emergency response system, so assistance is always nearby.
Our building loops around a central enclosed courtyard, encouraging the natural tendency of our residents to explore and socialize.
