Customer Reviews

Very caring staff

Our mother was very pleased with her stay at Aarondale. The staff was very caring and she felt very cared for. She appreciated the cleanliness of the community, the delicious meals and the warmth of the nurses who took care of her. Our family recommends Aarondale.

Great Community

Beautiful community with dedicated and caring staff. The Wellness Director, [name removed] has been a staple in the community for many years. I love that Aarondale has licensed nurses ONSITE 24/7. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking in the area. I have had nothing but positive interactions with the staff. They truly care about our mom.

Very impressed with Aarondale Retirement Community

My wife and I were very impressed with Aarondale Retirement Community on our tour. The director was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. It is one of the cleanest communities we visited in the Northern Virginia area. They also have nurses on site 24 hours a day. Most others do not offer this, only on-call nurses. The fine dining experience and university classes they offer are just a few of the higher caliber amenities that are a rare find among other retirement communities. When we are ready to make the decision to move forward with living in an assisted living community, we both agree that Aarondale will be the place we choose to maintain a higher quality of living.

Stunning Community

A stunning community and in a great location. I toured looking for a place for my mom. This community is filled with a team of kind and caring staff.

Clean, friendly and quiet. Very good first impression.

Great Visit

We toured the facility and found everyone to be very nice and helpful. Our mother enjoyed the visit too and is strongly considering this facility as an option.

Aarondale

Aarondale reputation is what lead me there. It exceeded its reputation in my opinion because of its outstanding ability to make the elderly feel alive, cherished and needed. They are apart of a family at Aarondale and unlike other communities I visited I immediately felt at home at Aarondale.

Sweet clear if you love your loved one

My father was just recently put I in over Thanksgiving. He has dementia and Alzheimer's but is not completely gone. He is so mad that this POA put him in here against his will but the care is terrible. Apparently they let him thrash about in his room at night not supervised. He has smashed his TV, lamp and his arms are covered in cuts. Which is horrible in itself but they appear to not be bandaged properly and they now itch and his hands & nails are covered in blood. I have called numerous times with no answers. I have filed a formal complaint with Fairfax County Elders abuse and they are having a formal investigation. My father was at home with 20 hours a day care and he was not having any of these issues...steer clear of this place if you really love your loved one!

Beautiful Community!

Aarondale is a beautiful community! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by not only the staff, but the residents as well. Everyone is so friendly!

The meals that their Executive Chef and team prepare are delicious and presented well. There are also activities running all day, even in their memory care neighborhood.

Outstanding

They are heads above there competitors in care and quality of food.

Aarondale facility has the charm of a "georgia estate" which it was built to represent. Positive are: it has a stately atmosphere, a two floor open space locked down portion for wanderers/dementia/Alzheimer's patients, and reasonably base pricing that can escalate easily. I also appreciated the referrals offered by Ana.
Negative: please do not provide spiels that state you can handle "difficult" patients when the family is being overt about the situation then state you cannot take the person for the same qualities extolled by the family.

This was a lovely place, we were here...

This was a lovely place, we were here for 2 weeks but it didn't work out well for us. Of all of my looking, this was my second choice. My father was difficult and he didn't want to be in a palce that was lock down and my mother had advanced Alzheimer's so every night my mother would try to get out, my father was in a wheelchair and he wasn't strong enough to stop her. It was not a wise decision for Aarondale to say they would give it a try because I knew it wasn't going to work, so after 2 weeks they said they didn't have a slot for a husband and wife together for what they need. That being said, I think they were trying to the right thing and they were trying to bend over backwards and at that point I was desperate. My dad died a month later and that just shows how desperate we were to get them out of the house so even though I knew it wasn't going to work, at least I was getting them out of the house.

Aarondale (Virginia) Review

I found the staff ready to greet my sister when we arrived and they double checked all her paperwork to make sure that all of it was up-to-date in case of an emergency . Their "Welcome Routines" helped to put my sister at ease and make her feel art of the community.
