Best Place Ever

My Mom has lived at The Oaks for 2 years now, we've actually been staying here since the beginning of the month at a guest rate ($85 bucks a night, cant beat it with this location!) and have enjoyed all of the activity they have. So many Live entertainers, dances, parties etc. We had a huge luau and now were gearing up for another event the last day of the month. So much fun and my Mom loves the Independent Living, she has a 1 bedroom deluxe that is bigger than my apartment at home!

Great place to live and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we have, we plan on visiting much more often!

My Dad at The Oaks

My Dad lived at the Oaks for almost a year before he passed... what a wonderful experience from top to bottom. They have a great team that made us feel so comfortable and kept us informed on his day to day. We are happy that Dad got to experience this gem before he passed, it was some of the best times in the final years of his life.

Thank you all so much for what you do!

[Name removed] gave us a tour. Seen a lot of families/friends visiting, even small children. Residents had performed the play Wizard of Oz. Loved the choice of rooms. I would live there. Family is allowed to spend the night.

Good tour

We toured The Oaks of Clearwater a while ago and it was a beautiful community. They gave a lovely presentation and served us lunch. If the time ever comes for a place for my loved one we would definitely look at this community again.

New Resident

I am so impressed and extremely happy with my expirence so far with the Oaks of Clearwater. The friendly and caring staff have gone above and beyond to be sure [Removed] is comfortable and happy. The place is clean....smells good and is very inviting. Best decision we ever made!

Friendly peoplel!!

The location of The Oaks of Clearwater was great, but there was more assisted living than Independent Living. The facility was nice and everyone there was ver friendly, but it was not what we were looking for.

Needs a upgrade!

This community was nice for the most part. They can definitely use a remodel or update. The place was not as clean as I thought it should be. The people were very nice and very friendly. Just not the place for us.

Great Place

The Oaks is a great community to live. I had my grandfather as a resident in the skilled nursing community and they were able to give him the rehabilitation he needed and get him back to Orlando where he lived quickly, and back to the way her used to be.

The views from the apartments are breathtaking. Every floor has a view of the water, and they have a nice dining room on the 15th floor where you overlook the water.

They always have people around and socializing, and there always seems to be something going on.

They are making a new garden area out back that is a great place for residents to sit and enjoy Florida weather.

Who the [removed] manages the housekeeping department at Oaks??????

I’ve been a guest as my mom lives there, and during my stay I’d wake up at 6:30 in a.m and find a bunch of Mexicans speaking Spanish very loudly. Supposed to be the housekeeping staff just strolling around from the lounge to hallways while talking on the phone. One with long black hair was screaming her lungs off and laughing loudly on the phone. They’d wake me up every morning. I couldn’t figure out if I were in the U.S or in [removed] Mexico.

Is Oaks a hotel or a senior living? What was housekeeping doing at six in the morning? With the price I paid, I could had gotten a 5 star hotel. Needless to say, I’m moving my mom out. There’s no [removed] service. Just a bunch of [removed] Mexicans strolling around that don’t even come to clean apartments or work. I’ve had to clean my mom’s bathroom with my own hands as from what I had seen, it did not look like housekeeping had walked in for a long time. I’m reporting you [removed] to B.B.B.

Review of The Oaks at Clearwater in Clearwater, FL

The nurse that took excellent care of me, Vickie, was a delight. She could not do enough for myself and the other Nancy next to the window. My late husband always wanted to come here as well.

Friendly staff

The apartments are a little small, but they are nice and the facility is kept clean and orderly. The staff is professional and friendly. The food could be better, but it's not terrible. There were a few communication issues with the staff, but it was resolved quickly.

Nice place, overall

Overall I think they do a good job at The Oaks of Clearwater. It's a nice looking, clean facility, and the staff all seem friendly and professional. My biggest complaint is that although they are a large facility they only have two elevators, and they can get very crowded around meal times/activities.

The Oaks of Clearwater is a farly nice place. The waterfront views are great, staff seems friendly and efficient. However, the food is far from gourmet, the units are small, and the elevator situation is very inadequate. The rates are reasonable compared to other places. If I had it to do over again I probably would have chosen a different place..

The Oaks of Clearwater: The staff h...

The Oaks of Clearwater:
The staff has been wonderful to work with, and very helpful with getting things settled. They have been very responsive with the questions we ask them. They have just been extremely helpful. The caregiving staff is excellent! The food and activities they have to offer the residents are both excellent. My parents are very happy. I would highly recommend The Oaks of Clearwater to others, in fact I already have.

The Right Place for Dad

My 94 yr old dad loves the place, the activities, the location and everything!

Going well so far

Our loved one has only been here a short time, but so far things seem to be going well! It's a nice looking community, and the staff have all been very friendly and professional. They take good care of the residents, and have a good variety of activities going on. Our only concern has been that it can be a bit difficult to get in touch with or get a response from the administrative staff.
I would like to add that with a little persistence and after another call expressing some concerns about our loved one's struggles with the transition, they were responsive, and willing to do what it would take to help. It made us feel much better. It's important to stay in touch and involved with key staff.

Waterfront living

The following observations regarding The Oaks are what I have experienced during the two months my mother has been residing in her independent living apartment on the 11th floor. The studio apartment is exceptionally clean and well appointed. Maid service once weekly is excellent and quite efficient. The unit has a small kitchen with refrigerator, sink and plenty of cabinet space. The bathroom is large and boasts several safety features, walk-in tub and excellent lighting. Everyone we have met on staff has been helpful, attentive and cordial. There is never a lack of activities (including special trips outside the complex), throughout the day and evening. The view, overlooking Clearwater Harbor, is beautiful and the grounds around the complex are well maintained. The dining room is spacious, the servers efficient and the food is plentiful and good. The only problem areas I have observed are the lack of enough elevators for the number of residents (but have been told two additional elevators will be added in the near future), and somewhat limited guest parking, mainly on weekends. In summary, I am quite pleased with The Oaks and would highly recommend it to others.

Excellent community

They are definitely a five!

I am happy with them. They are doing a great job.

I found the facility staff to be quite helpful, concerned and caring.

Good so Far

Pretty good so far, mostly it's hard to tell because not enough time has passed. I had heard about them from some people down there, and also through A Place for Mom. It seemed to be in a good place. Talking to them, they seemed to offer a pretty inclusive package without extra charges.

Helpful Staff and Great Activities!

I have never been there, so I am going on what I have heard dealing with them on the phone. I have spoken with the marketing director, and she is very good. At first it was difficult to get my mother to agree to it, and she was very helpful, then helpful with the actual moving process. It seems like they have a nurse that sees her once a week, even though she is in independent living. They also have a doctor on site. She saw the doctor right when she first moved in, who evaluated her and determined that she could live in independent, which we were happy and surprised about! She loves the activities, that is a five; they have Bingo, which she has won a few times. They go to church, the beach, Walmart. She gets 3 meals a day if she wants three meals, and she has a half kitchen in her room, a refrigerator without a stove. I like it, I would want to go there when I got to that age! Good to recommend.

Complete Lack of Communication

The communication skills are really poor, it's too expensive, and I am looking for another place. I am really disappointed in the facility itself. He was falling and no one let me know - they never called to tell me. I would not recommend to anyone. For the money I'm paying, I deserve to be notified when major things happen. The one good thing is the food. He has his own room with fridge, but meals are all in dining area.
