Customer Reviews

Has a nice, smaller homey feel, but the facility is
very old and shows it. $250 assessment fee is not a good idea.

Like pulling teeth to get info. Presentation of facilities was as if not interested in new prospects Nursing home atmosphere that is dark and dreary. Clients reflecting atmosphere

Close To Public Transportation

This community is wonderful I can't say enough wonderful things about them. The community itself is very lovely exceptionally clean and well maintained. As soon as you walk in the sense of being at home and welcomed pours over you. The staff is wonderful extremely nice and welcoming. I personally don't drive so I needed a community that was close to public transportation. My aunt loves the food here honestly she loves everything about the place. I am extremely pleased with our choice and would recommend them.

Better Choice

After having the rug pulled out from under us I was nervous that it would happen again but this place is the complete opposite. The staff is wonderful here very nice and kind and attentive but most importantly honest. My mother in law has dementia and Alzheimer so she eats the food but whether or not it's good I can't say for sure. They do offer activities however she is unable to do any of them. The most important thing to me is she is receiving the best care she can get here and she is safe.

When Having A Tour

This community was close to me and I liked where it was. They have a fabulous chef and I saw some of the food on the menu that the staff were complimenting on. They are a little expensive. I looked around and wanted a place where there are more nationalities with the staff.

Not a bad community

The main concern I have with this community is that there is a large piece of furniture partially blocking the doorway in my mom's shared room and they do not want to seem to move it. The community is clean and mom seems to like the food. They offer some activities and outings. I would recommend this community.

Good community but pricey

My father-in-law is a resident here. They offer a lot of socialization and he is getting involved in activities. He is a finicky eater and he appreciates that they offer an alternative menu. They could improve their prices, it is rather expensive. They do offer significant discounts and coupons on various things in the Clipper Magazine. We did not know this upon moving in and other families informed us.

The Chelsea gets my recommendation

The staff are very nice, approachable and responsive. Mom seems to like the food. They do offer a variety of activities. The community is clean and well maintained. This is a smaller community and it seems to work well for memory care residents.

Another Tour

My visit and tour here was good. It was not as close to me as I thought. The person who gave the tour was very friendly with me. The staff presented their best to me. I saw nothing wrong with the place.

One of The Tours

This was a smaller facility and it was clean when I toured. It was not in a good location for us.

They had so much copassion and were very caring.

For the time that she was was there they took excellent care of my loved one. The staff and the management treated her so much better in those three weeks than the place she lived for five years did. They had so much copassion and were very caring. I wish we had made the move sooner.

My Friend Had A Pleasant Respite Stay Here

My friends respite stay with very well. Overall it was a good place for her. They have a lovely staff here, they were nice and caring. It was an adjustment for her, but she had a nice routine down. She enjoyed going down for the meals. The meals were nice, the residents enjoyed them. She would sit with a lovely group of lady, and she talked about them all the time. I knew she was nice and being cared for well here. This is a great community I would recommend.

The staff at The Chelsea are so friendly and caring and bend over backwards to make my mom, Katherine [Removed], feel comfortable and at home, especially Lisa [Removed] and Michele [Removed] & Patricia, the Activities Director. Lisa made sure my mom was at a table for her meals, where the residents were more sociable and outgoing, as my mom is rather shy at first, but then does feel more comfortable, as she gets to know others.

My parents are doing alright at this community!!

My parents do not really like the food at The Chelsea. They only offer a few selections to choose from. I have good communication with the staff and they are helpful. They offer a variety of activities. I would recommend this clean community.

Mom Is Being Cared For Well Here

It has been a pretty experience for my mother here at this community. Everything is working out well. The community is very nice looking, they do a good job with the cleaning. The staff is nice, they are very attentive and accommodating. They offer nice activities through out the week. She likes the food, the meals are nice. I know she is being cared for well here. It is a lovely community.

Very friendly, caring staff!

So far our experience with The Chelsea has been a good one! It's a nice looking, clean community, and eveyrone here has been very friendly! I've been particularly impressed by the aide staff. They're very caring and calm, and they never get irritated or raise their voices, they treat the residents with dignity.
I also appreciate that they remain in constant contact with the families regarding care decisions and anything else that comes up.

There are no concerns and they are doing a good job.

There are no concerns and they are doing a good job. It's a phenomenal place. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend them.

Seems like a nice place

Overall things have gone well at The Chelsea. The staff are all very friendly, and they do a good job with communication and keeping my family in the loop. The facility itself is well run, clean, and they seem to take good care of their residents. One complaint I have is that they could stand to have higher quality hospital type beds for the residents who are more bedbound.

Stress Free Transition for Senior Living Facilities

A place for Mom; Annie Prusich helped my family at a time when we were not sure what would be the best move for her. Annie helped in finding a place by contacting several senior living facilities that handled memory care for dementia and Alzheimer clients. She was great in making us feel that this would be the best step to take instead of allowing our Mom to live alone with minimal care, anxiety and loneliness she experienced every day. With interviewing many places, my sisters and brothers with an intense decision choose the best facility that would be able to care for our Mom. Kristin at the Chelsea of Jenkintown has been and still is the most wonderful advisor; she is patient, kind and always available to answer questions and she also made this transition error free. We were very fearful the weekend before we placed my Mom at Chelsea; we were expecting our Mom to be angry at us for placing her in a facility but to no avail she is much happier, more relaxed and stress free. She now has several friends and this week she had her hair done which she hasn't had a haircut in seven years. We now enjoy visiting our Mom knowing that she is happy, pleasant and safe at theChelsea of Jenkintown. I would recommend this senior living facility to other families in need of care for their family members. I would like to thank Annie at Mom's Place and Kristin at Chelsea and her staff for making this a seamless transition.

too far from home in middle of business area not want I was looking for

The staff is good.

I like The Chelsea but I think they can improve when it comes to communication. The staff is good. I was satisfied in the beginning, but we had a several scary incidents. There are communication issues. There have been a few mix ups and they need to get a better system for medication management. It is very clean and sanitary. When we call now to check in, we detect a little frustration with us, it feels like they have lost their patience with us, it's different now. The staff is very pleasant. The administration seems to be where the issue is. We don't have the security that we had before, we used to feel very safe with her there. I think they are suitable, I've seen improvements. They have music and singing and painting and are always doing things. They do have doctors and nurses on staff twenty four hours. It's not the cheapest facility that she could be in and I don't think it's the most expensive either. For the amount of money you are paying monthly I think there could be a lot of improvements. I was looking for her safety security and well being, and her ability to be able to function in a place similar to home. At the beginning everything was good but as time goes on you can hear the impatience and irritability in the tone of their voice.

Treated like family.

While considering several places, we kept coming back to the Chelsea. The staff AND residents remembered us, were welcoming, happy and wanted my dad to make their place, his home. They are smaller than some of the competition but do not lack activities, in fact it is hard to find a day their calendar doesn't have multiple offerings. Would recommend!

Really great place for my Mom

We couldn't be happier with this place, I really can't think of any way they could improve. They really take great care of the residents, especially in the memory care unit. They're very friendly, and treat visitors with a lot of respect, they're always trying to get us to stay for lunch when we visit. If I could rate this place higher than 5 on any of these categories I would!

Not Acceptable

Not at all acceptable. It was too much like a nursing home. My mother-in-law would never have survived there.

I took my grandmother to have dinner there. I am pleased at how well kept the facility is. The Directors were excellent in giving tours and answering my questions. My grandmother liked the facility as well but says that she would really miss all of us at home. I'm still deciding. It is a very difficult decision, but The Chelsea is very high on my list.

it seems nice it doesn't have the warmth that some had, and the staff, although clearly caring, don't seem to be as invested in the lives of the residents. I know this is based on one quick visit but that's how it felt to me.
