Care for mom

I like the care that myI like the care that my mom is getting in this community. The staff is taking good care of her. They need to work on a few areas. There is a language barrier with the staff. There are times that I am not able to find out my mother's progress when I call. She is wanting some special items and they are not making sure that when I bring them to my mom that she is receiving them all. She seems to be happy with the meals. And they need to work on the activities. I would recommend this community to other families. I hope that they do work with families on the request of a loved one's needs.

Thanks so much for providing your review. I will have Sonia Idnani, Director of Operations discuss your mother's progress with the care staff in the home, and Sonia will give you an update. Her number is: [removed]. Please feel free to call Sonia any time for a report. The caregiver in this home does have an accent but she is fully aware of what is communicated at all times.
Please also let Sonia know what items you have provided for your mother so we can check their status. Staff routinely provide all items delivered by family members to residents unless it is food and their is concern that the resident may eat the items all at once which can be unhealthy especially if they are sweets.
Additionally, some residents with dementia may unfortunately misplace items. We recommend that you not provide valuables such as jewelry to your loved one. If they like jewelry, please bring inexpensive costume jewelry.
Finally, we will have the Activity Professionals reach out to you regarding preferences that you may have for your family member.
Please call me any time if you have any questions or requests.
Thanks so much.

Great experience at Serenity House

My parent received excellent care at Serenity House VIII. [Removed], the head caregiver, was very empathetic, caring and patient. All the other caregivers we met were equally good. The concept of a home-based setting is particularly suited to a loved one with memory impairment and provides a familiar, comfortable setting. I would highly recommend Serenity House.
