Feels like home

Very pleased with the cleanliness and homey feel. Nicely decorated. One bedroom apartment is nice size with good floor plan. Nurse [Name removed] is wonderful. Library Terrace is in a neighborhood rather than on a busy street. The staff is friendly. The chef goes above and beyond to accommodate my dad’s dietary needs. Very happy!

Mom is very happy living at Library Terrace Apartments- high quality care & comfortable home environment

My mom recently moved into Library Terrace Apartments and is very happy and feels at home. She previously lived at larger assisted living facility in Kenosha, however we found that she was not receiving the quality of care and attention that she needed due to care staff turnover and under-staffing on the weekends. We met with [name removed] and [name removed] at Library Terrace Apartments and knew we had found the right home for Mom. The staff truly cares about their residents and encourages them to remain as independent as possible. Mom likes to do her own laundry and is encouraged to use the washer and dryer when available. Library Terrace Apartments offers high quality meals with a wide variety of menu items. There are interesting activities offered throughout the week that residents can choose to participate in. Mom's favorite activity is Bingo and was pleased to learn it's offered twice a week! Mom's studio apartment is spacious with a large window, two fully closets and large cabinets in the bathroom. There are safety bars located in several places in the bathroom. [name removed], the executive director and [name removed], the lead nursing staff, are quick to respond to my emails or calls. If Mom needs a change in medicines, they communicate the orders to the pharmacy in a timely manner. I now have peace of mind that Mom is being cared for and has a healthy and positive living environment with consistent staffing. I highly recommend Library Terrace Apartments.

I like the smaller community

This is a nice community and I like that it is smaller in size. My dad likes his room, we got his furniture all arranged, still hanging some of his pictures but its starting to feel more like home for him. Dad has already started taking part in the activities and he has even gone on a field trip to a senior center for one of their dances. He also enjoys the Friday Happy hour it gives him a chance to sit and visit. Dad likes going to the dining room but he's not too keen on some of the food that they serve. I would definitely recommend setting up a tour here.

Thanks so much for your favorable review and feedback. We appreciate that are you recommending others who are seeking Assisted Living Options to consider the Library Terrace Community! Our staff does their utmost to assist new residents in their transition to their new home and are encouraged to hear that your Dad is having a very positive experience. Our Chefs do their best to be responsive to the culinary preferences of our residents. Admittedly it is difficult to please everyone all of the time. If you or your Dad have some suggestions around the menu -- please get in touch with our Executive Director who would be very glad to share those with our Chefs.

Good Experiences For My Mom

It is going pretty good for my mom. The staff are pretty good with their help and calling me when needed. I have no major complaints. She isn't crazy about the meals and the activities are the nice.

We appreciate your positive feedback. Thank you! As you know first hand we have great staff at Library Terrace and meeting the needs of our residents is their number one priority. We appreciate the importance of keeping family in the loop as well. As you may be aware, all of our meals are prepared from scratch using fresh produce and high quality meats and fish. Appealing to the taste preferences of all our residents everyday, year round is one of the biggest challenges for our chefs. We just recently revamped our menus and hopefully their are more choices to your Mom's liking. Please let our staff some of her favorite foods so we try to incorporate a few into our future menus.

Nice Administrator, Rude Receptionists

I have to say the Administrator was nice but that her receptionists are rude. I will not be bringing any of family here.

We appreciate getting your feedback. Unfortunately, I think that you may have us confused with another Senior Living Community which is easy to do when families are touring multiple senior properties. Our buildings are small and residential so we have no receptionists on staff. if you are still looking for an Assisted Living Option for your family member we do encourage you to get in touch and come in for a tour. We would be delighted to talk with you about your family member’s needs and whether we might be able to meet them at Library Terrace Assisted Living. Please make sure to ask if we are running any Special Offers for new residents to our campus.

Nice Place!!

In our search of communities we were looking for a place that would have the same ratio of male to female. This place didn't work out for that reason there was more females. The community was nice overall. The tour guide was helpful and showed us all around the community. Meal plans and activities are available for the residents as well.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with us and tour our community. We don't know how many other senior communities that you visited but typically there are always more women to men at senior communities given that the average life span for women is higher than for men. We do, however, have a sizable number of men living on our campus and in general a great group of engaged and active residents. We do appreciate your overall positive review of Library Terrace Assisted Living. Thank You again.

This is a nice facility, the staff was helpful, and it was more affordable than many I looked at.

Thank you for your review. It is our mission to offer high quality services with outstanding staff AND at a price that is a good value. With levels of care we are able to increase OR decrease services as residents’ needs change over time so that you don’t have to pay for unneeded extras.

Good Community!!

While i went on tour for this community i got to meet some lovely staff. There is nice fireplace by the dinning room it makes the atmosphere really nice. The community is a pet friendly place. I didn't like that it felt like a nursing home rather than a comfortable home for my loved one.

We appreciate having you visit our senior community and agree that we have great staff working here! We love all of our residents -- including the dogs and cats who moved in with their family at Library Terrace. We offer spacious One and Two bedroom apartments and Suites. Many units offer recently upgraded kitchens. Just last year the entire campus was remodeled and updated. We are continuing in those efforts with a beautiful new Arts & Crafts Room that was just added. Additionally, we are getting rave reviews from those who have toured our new Two-bedroom Model apartment. Thank you again for the taking time to provide us your feedback.

I liked this one best recently remodeled within walking distance for shopping. Good exercise programs. Staff very kind. Clean bright Cheery.

We thank you for your review and are so glad to hear that you appreciate the many wonderful changes that have occurred on our campus over the last year. New programs developed by our wonderful Life Enrichment Staff and our Housekeeping Staff keep our buildings shining. We are so proud of our exceptional staff from the Chefs to our Caregivers who work so well together to ensure that the needs of our residents are met with warm smiles and encouraging words. Thank you!

Nice community, very good food, friendly & helpful staff. There was a miscommunication about the price.

We appreciate your review and the feedback. We are always glad to hear how we can do better as well. Since we offer levels of care based on resident need we do not have the full picture on the cost of care until we are able to assess the potential resident. We recently changed our pricing structure and hope that it will be more clear going forward. Thanks again for letting us know.

Lots of Activities!

I've heard very good feedback from my loved one. The staff are all very nice, and she loves it there! They have lots of activities and events going on! They play BINGO, and cards, and they have sing-a-longs. They also have church services and exercise classes! My loved one just preferred this place over the others, so we really didn't need to look anywhere else!

We are so glad to hear that your family member loves living at Library Terrace. During 2016 we have made even more upgrades to our Life Enrichment Program. We had added more staff and expanded our programs to include Senior Fitness with Tai Chi and other activities based on feedback from our residents. The Library Terrace We ❤️ Kenosha program is a chance for OUR Residents to Give Back to the local community. One such project involved making cozy, warm blankets to give to First Step Services – a Transitional Day Shelter serving Homeless Families. Finding ways for our residents to continue to maintain rewarding and productive lives is part of our Mission. Just one of the MANY REASONS Library Terrace was selected as The Best Of Kenosha Top 2 Assisted Living Communities for 2016!!

From the Community

Small enough to be home-like yet large enough to offer the amenities and services one might expect in larger senior communities. Library Terrace offers a continuum of care in a long-established, single-family home neighborhood. Located adjacent to the Kenosha Southwest Neighborhood Library, the campus is conveniently situated near Festival Foods, Walgreen’s pharmacy, banking, medical clinics, churches, restaurants and much more!

The campus consists of Library Terrace Apartments – 26 apartment units where seniors can age in place and receive up to 28 hours of services per week depending on their needs --- and Library Terrace Suites – 20 units for seniors with higher care needs. Offering a continuum of care allows seniors to move in while still relatively independent and then age in place as their needs change over time.

A variety of services are offered tailored to each resident’s needs. Our chefs get to know the food preferences of each individual and menus feature fresh fruits and vegetables plus high quality meats and fish. We offer life enriching activities aligned with the interests of our residents including a Senior Fitness program with Tai Chi classes. Our full time on campus registered nurse does weekly wellness checks and works closely with our direct care staff to monitor changes in condition. Our 24/7 staff are here to respond to needs as they arise, day or night.

The smaller building size can ease the transition from a home of many years and allows new residents to quickly get to know the staff and other Library Terrace seniors. Service packages are based on the nurse’s assessment and customized to meet individual needs. Levels of care allow services to be increased or decreased as resident needs change. At Library Terrace the focus is on the whole person including physical, spiritual, social and mental well-being.

Library Terrace Assisted Living has been family-owned since the original building opened in 2000. Now, in 2015 operations have been integrated and the buildings upgraded to keep up with the changing times. There is a commitment not just to the seniors who we serve but to the employees who are there to support our residents’ needs. As a member of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA) we are investing in continued improvement. We are so grateful to be recognized by the Kenosha community as One Of The Best of Kenosha for 2016.

At Library Terrace Assisted Living, we are committed to providing resident-driven services tailored to each individual living on our campus.

Our Campus Executive Director is here to help not just for our residents but their family members as well. Continued ties with the local community are encouraged as well as maintaining the independence of each individual for as long as possible.

Our licensed R.N. is available to assess each individual in order to provide a personal care service package that is right for each resident. With weekly wellness checks families and other medical professionals are kept apprised of changes and concerns.

Our staff does its utmost to promote a smooth transition for each move-in and help them integrate into daily activities and to get to know the other residents who live in their building.

We provide a range of customer-driven programs, activities and events that encourage participation, health, laughter and lasting memories.
