Looks can be deceiving

I placed my mother in this group home on the recommendation of Hospice of the West. The gal who is over the day-to-day details is not there full-time, but I wasn't concerned about that until I tried to ask questions about my mom's medications to the gals who were there around the clock. I was told that they 'didn't know anything' and I should address those questions to her. Well, that was difficult. They tried to give her food to her liking, but I was told that if she wanted to eat something the rest were not, that we had to go back in her room with it. They also tried to limit my time and hours spent with my mother, which disturbed me greatly.

One of the long-term residents is being verbally abused by another long-term resident, which made me very sad. They laughed it off. If they called out during 'nap time', break time for the gals, their cries went unanswered generally.

[Removed]. I would not be inclined to put a loved one there - looks can be deceiving.

Homey and Hospitable

I saw this place and really liked it but she did not have private room available. It was very homey and very hospitable. I think this one was a little bit smaller and had one man as a resident which doesn't matter but they didn't have a private room. Other than that it was really nice.
