Customer Reviews

Great services

This is a first class Assisted and Memory Care community. The grounds and building are incredibly clean.
The staff is as good as they come, always meeting the needs of the residents.
Plenty of activities for everyone.

Very large apartment style building. Not what we were looking for.

Nice facility with large pool

I toured this facility with my Wife while looking for a place to live. The facility itself we found to be fairly nice. All of the staff members and residents were very friendly. They also have a large pool, and you can decide if you want to pay for their meals or not. We ended up putting a deposit down and then decided it was on the expensive side. When we changed our minds, we got our deposit back within 10 days. I would recommend this facility to other families.

They Go Above and Beyond

Isle at Watercrest is excellent. The staff has gone above and beyond to make my mom fell comfortable. They have been so welcoming, they have great dispositions, and their response time if she presses her call button is very good. The place is clean, and they take care of all of my mom's housekeeping needs. One thing she likes is that they have multiple levels of care there, so if her needs do increase, she can stay in one community. I would definitely recommend this community to others.

A perfect fit

Mom is doing well at Isle at Watercrest. She really likes the food. The staff treat her well. They do offer daily activities and the community is well taken care of. They offer different levels of care and we appreciate this. Mom is comfortable here and I would recommend this community.

A tour for care

I like the care with this service for my mom. The caretaker was nice and very helpful with our needs. She was always very patient and caring. It was nice having someone th also be a companion for my mom. We would recommend this service and the care that has been received from a very reliable caretaker.

Beautiful place and wonderful staff. But it took 45 minutes to get to it because of all the construction.

Mom is Receiving Good Care

I am glad I moved my Mom to this facility. Though expensive (she needs extra care) it seems to be worth it. The management truly seems to care and if problems do arise they are handled quickly. Overall she is being provided with good care, and that is the important part. She is safe, and in good hands at this community. I would recommend it.

Best Place Ever..They Love My Parents Like I Do.

This can be your first and last review to read. In one day, one fall, I lost both my parents to brain injury/Alzheimer's and had to make a fast decision. IN 10 months, they were in five facilities before Isle of Watercrest. We've been the victims of [Removed]. We've been lied to, misled, and my faith in humanity was all but gone.
Then, after my parents had scabies, an outside nurse urged us to look at Isle at Watercrest. We did. So burned was I that I didn't believe all their hype.
There is no hype. It's all real. What you see IS WHAT YOU GET! Clean, loving, professional and more. As my father was being [Removed], he stopped talking and trusting. Today, just 50+ days at Isle at Watercrest and my father is talking! He knows the staff on sight and likes them. He smiles. And Mom is learning to trust again, too. I am so eternally grateful to the nurse who told us about Isle but even more so for the wonderful and amazing people who care for our seniors. If you think one memory care facility is much like the other ... you haven't been to Isle at Watercrest. As for me, they gave me my dad back. xxoo

A nice place!!

They keep this community clean and well maintained. The staff are really wonderful. The food is not good. They offer daily activities. I like living here and I would recommend this community.

A Small Community!!

When i took a tour of this community i thought that the place was clean and nicely organized. It was a small place and the price was a little high. This didn't work out for us, but i did think it had nice staff and the tour guide was very informative with me in regards to their meals and activities.

Comfort For Mom!!

The Isle at Watercrest has great caring staff. My mother really likes this place. The housekeeping does well maintaining the whole community clean. Meals that are served have good taste to them and are healthy. Most important my mother is in a safe place.

Our Visit Here

The sales manager did a good job giving me a tour. The community did not seem like a fit for my parents. This is an assisted living facility and my parents did not need the assistance. This would be suitable for others.

Adjusting To The Community

My mother-in-law is fine and doing good here. We are happy with the care she is receiving and the price. The community is clean and the staff gather the residents to play bingo or other activities. My mother-in-law has no complaints about the food served. We had to work out a few things to get into a routine but all seems to be well now.

My Parents Are Happy Here

Both my parents are at this community and they are very pleased. I know it was a good choice. Also I know they are safe and in good hands. The community looks very nice and neat, my parents haven't had any problems with the cleaning. The staff is nice and helpful. They do enjoy the meals, the food is good. I'am confident about the care they are receiving.

We want to say a big thank you

We want to say a big thank you for all the atteniotn to detail that made our Thanksgiving celebration so very special. The room & set up were beautiful. Our only regret was that the staff could not join us and enjoy the ambience that the staff created.

Isle at Watercrest - Mansfield, TX

Very nice accommodations and interesting activities. We have housekeeping once a week, 3 meals a day and interesting activities.

parking needs improving

At Isle at Watercrest the parking needs improving. A lot of times you get there and there is no place to park. Other than that it has been an overall good experience at this facility.

Doors are locked at 8:00 pm.
Arriving after 8.... Slow Response time to get doors unlocked.

absolutely loved this place in 1st place so far

It seems like a nice place to have my father live at..

It seems like a nice place to have my father live at. The facility is always very clean. The maintenance team does an excellent job at keeping it clean. The care services are great. They do a great job at taking care of my father. The administration staff has been very accommodating and nice. My father says the food is pretty good. Overall, It has been a great experience so far. We haven't had any issues.

My mother has lived at all three of the Watercrest facilities in Mansfield. She started out in the independent and then moved to the Assisted and now memory care facility. As we moved the care got progressively worse. Being as expensive as it is, you would expect more for your money. Both the manager and the Director of Nursing only respond occasionally to your emails and needs. I have seen [removed] in my mothers care and others living at the facility. This place needs to be investigated by someone. I am trying to get ahold of someone to do so. Please dont move your loved one here. Don't just look at the aesthetics , being pretty doesn't mean anything care is what is important. These managers will not listen to you or help you at all. This place is run on favoritism not professionalism.

Local Representative

My name is Mark Terry, Executive Director at the Isle at Watercrest. Thank you for your review and I am truly sorry that your nearly two year experience here has ended on such a sour note. We have been in serving the Mansfield and surrounding areas for almost 4 years. During this time we have cared for hundreds of residents and their families. I take pride in our entire staff as well as their untiring daily efforts to take care of all our residents. While I respect this forum and your voice, I do disagree with many of the issues raised in this review. I am a bit surprised as from our meeting last Tuesday I felt good about our highly collaborative plan of care for your mother. If something was missed or overlooked I sincerely apologize. Should you feel the need to continue the discussion, please call on me directly.

It was neat and clean and pretty nice.

This is one of the places we looked at when we were searching. It was neat and clean and pretty nice. I was worried about my mom running out of money and having nowhere to go after that. I also just really clicked with the director at another facility.

It was a very good experience we had with Isle at Watercrest. Mark Terry, the administrator, worked with us quite extensively. The people were all very accommodating and helpful with everything.

In the end we needed more of a nursing home type facility, and Isle at Watercrest was not adequately staffed to provide the sort of 24 hour care that mom needed. For that reason alone she was only there for a week, but from my experience during that time I have nothing but praise for them.

Positive changes. Great place for my loved one.

My husband has been a resident in the Memory Care center for a year this week. After reading some of the recent comments from dissatisfied customers I want to mention the positive changes that have taken place over the past few months. I agree with what others have said about the negatives of this facility: that is until now. New management, specifically a new director of memory care hired this summer, has made a major difference by addressing the issues and concerns that I and other had. New caregivers have been hired and the positive changes are incredible. The new director, Amy, is very professional, experienced and addresses any issues very quickly. I have found that the staff who enjoy what they do embraced the positive changes and are still there. I spend a lot of time there with my loved one and I will honestly say I can not imagine a better place. Not only do they take very good care of him, they take care of me. I am able to truly be his advocate and partner while they do all the "heavy lifting." I highly recommend the Memory Care center at Isle at Watercrest.

Poor management

The memory care area has serious issues. After placing my mother there, we saw conditions deteriorate. A terrible smell of urine developed on the hall carpets and was never adequately cleaned. The stench was overbearing. I spent several nights there with my mom. Several of the residents are out of control. Screaming and wandering at night. Fights broke out at breakfast in the dining room. Very few activities or anything to entertain residents. Many of the residents are out of control, really angry and actually getting into scary fights and screaming a lot. Many of the staff are hard-working, nice and helpful. A few, however, should not be working there. Poor management. Nursing station is almost never staffed. It's hard to get in and out when you want to visit your loved one. We were so relieved to get our mom out of there.

Major concerns with the quality of care

My main problem is that chemical restraints are used to control residents in memory care, instead of staff redirecting behavior and keeping residents active. During the past year, this facility was sold to another who put a new director in place; the activity director was fired on the spot (despite the fact that residents were very close to her and she engaged and kept the residents happy). There has been a high turnover in staff, probably due to the fact that it is constantly understaffed. Clothes are not washed in a timely manner, and clothing is often lost. Meals were unhealthy but I've seen an improvement in the last few times I've visited. However, residents rarely get out anymore on field trips, and they are bored. Mostly I leave very sad and sometimes crying. I would make changes but other family is opposed.

Good personal care by friendly staff. Facility requires continued maintenance.

We have had a problem the first week of occupancy with room cleaning and laundry. They were "short staffed" and did not wash Mrs. Stanton's laundry for over a week (she is in extended care).
Her shared bathroom has flooded and they are changing some type of seal. Her room door sticks and makes a loud crack when opened. Staff have worked on it but it still cracks. The sliding door to her closet came off the hinges but was repaired timely.
Food has been great. Personal services have also been great and meet Mrs. Stanton's needs. She likes the staff and finds them friendly and helpful.

Comfortable and happy

It’s a little pricey. It is an excellent place that gives great peace of mind to me. I’m very impressed with their level of service, activities, and entertainment. The food is very good. My mom was very resistant to going there, but now she’s very comfortable and happy.

We’ve been very satisfied with them. They are clean and well kept. The staff has been great. There is enough parking.

Great Place, Nice Caring People, Very Comfortable

Moved Mom into the facility. Nice, caring, conscientious people who take great care of the residents. I am very picky about the care my mother gets and these people do a great job of taking care of her and her needs. The food is great and the care of the nurses, attendants and administrative staff has been excellent.

It was very nice, It was just a tad more expensive than the one we chose. It was very very large and I felt like it was more impersonal. I just talked to the two people who did the tour so I can't comment on all the staff but they were nice, of course, they were trying to sell me on an apartment there.

Quickly resolved some feeding issue

They've been very good, the cleanliness seems good, I haven't noticed anything. It's cheaper than the place he was in so I guess the value is good. So far we've had a little problem with feeding issues but we got that worked out really good. I had told them before we went in that I wanted someone in his room with him when he ate because he isn't really able to go to the dining room and the other week we went in and he was just filthy. I talked to them and they were able to fix that really quickly. The have a calendar up of activities but I didn't pay attention because it didn't really apply. We got a list of other places but I really was set on this one, it was convinient and they had jsut started this program for extended care.

Nice facility. Have worked with the director in the past and was happy with him. Distance is a little far almost same as current, but facility makes up for it.

Love it here

Comparably speaking Mansfield Isle at Watercrest is worth the money. They do a good job and my loved one just loves it here. The offer a wide variety of activities and seems like she stays so busy I have to make an appointment to visit her. The staff has always been very helpful. When I was visiting I started getting the shakes due to my diabetes and they did not hesitate to find me something to eat and make me feel better. We are very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone.

Very pricey but good at keeping people active.

Very pricey! My mother is here and they charge a $200fee to help get her out of the bed and take her to the bathroom, which I herd from others that a lot of the time she has to get herself up. Worried that they might be charging for things that aren’t being done. Very good at getting my mother involved in activities and she’s not easy to please. The location is close to me and my family. Very nice scenery and she loves the food.

Positives: General area was very attractive,on site rehab facility well equipped. Room size- good. Price reasonable. Level 2 facility Negatives: concerned will price increase once filled to capacity. No one knew we had an apt.- thus the tour was by the maintenance man- who did well despite receiving numerous calls. Felt like we were interfering with his job. Executive director - on site, told us good by!
