Home Sweet Home at Crosby Commons!
Overall, I give Crosby Commons at Wesley Village in Shelton, CT a 5 star rating. Our family couldn't be happier!
Previously, our dad was living alone at home ....everyone told us to try to keep him in his own home as long as we could. We tried so hard to maintain that lifestyle. We found he needed interaction with other people, activities he could participate in, meals that were prepared for him, help with dispensing medications, opportunities for spiritual guidance, and most importantly a staff that would love him like we do.
We found ALL of this at Crosby Commons! Everyone is so friendly and caring. If a resident is late for a meal, a phone call is placed to see where you are.
In addition, nursing/medical staff is available if needed. The staff goes out of their way to continually check on the well being of each resident.
Honestly, I cannot say enough wonderful things about a place that is considered our dad's home. It is such a pleasure to visit and see him so comfortable. How fortunate for us that we were able to find such a beautiful place with kind residents and such a caring staff that can fill our shoes during those times when we are not with our dad.
We will be forever grateful for Crosby Commons!
Hope things get better

Assisted Living Facilities

I have been visiting a family member here for the past 5 years. This place was the tops in assisted living. Something has happened along the past year, it seems that nobody cares anymore. I and other family members used to see this place shine. Everything was clean and the environment was a happy one. For the past few months it doesn't seem that anybody is cleaning the place like they once did. The common areas are sub par for cleanliness. Isn't anybody cleaning the floors anymore? He must because the mop and vacuum have been found in the middle of the hallway where I saw somebody almost fall over it. What is he cleaning, can't be the floors. I have seen the housekeeper there, what does he do for the day except constantly telling everybody to smile. Or he wants to see that smile. Clean the place properly and maybe we would have something to smile about. I and my family used to rave about this place and tell everybody looking for assisted living to look here. Its the best. Not anymore. If my family member had another place to go they would be out. They like it here but their eyesight is not as good as mine.
