Customer Reviews

Staff is knowledgeable and easy to interact with

My Mom lives here and is very happy. Everyone is very nice and if I have any concerns, they’re addressed immediately. The staff is easy to interact with and seem knowledgeable about the type of care she needs. The food is okay, it’s well-balanced and nutritious. The cleanliness is great and housekeeping comes by twice a week to clean her apartment. They have Rosary and Mass every day that she can attend, a social happy hour every afternoon, trips to the store, movies twice a day in the theater, a walking club, and arts and crafts. I’ve already recommended this place to others, it’s been wonderful.

This community meets all our needs

Things are going well for mom since moving into this community. The staff are absolutely great. They have encouraged her to participate in some of the daily activities. She likes the food and she has started making friends. Her apartment is nice and they have well maintained grounds. The grounds are a little small, however it is perfect for mom and she enjoys the sitting area they offer outside. This is a good location for us and I would recommend it.

Not what we needed

We ended up moving to another community which afforded us a medical model, Atria Stratford is a social model. We were promised a lot of things that they were not able to provide. The care staff, recreation staff were friendly and tried their best. We mainly had issues with the director who was very arrogant and not understanding of the care we needed, he was all about the business end.

Pleased

My father is well in this community. He is safe, and receiving good care. We are pleased with all they have done for us.

Good Experience, Tour Was Pleasant

My tour of this community was a very nice one. The experience went well. The community looked very nice, everything was nice, and clean. The staff was polite, and friendly. Everyone was kind to my family, and I. I was pleased with my tour overall.

Good impression

We toured this community when looking for my mother. It was very clean with a friendly staff. We chose not to move here because the community she was already in was able to match the price we wanted.

Nervous daughter half way across country picks the perfect place for Mom and Dad.

My parents were recently moved into Atria by me. My father had been neglecting his own health in caring for my mother at home. Mom is currently in the Memory Care area and Daddy is in the assisted living area. As his health improves we hope to put them back together. I needed to find them a place fast. Atria was in their town. My contact there [Removed] was wonderful, we coordinated a lot over emails and phone calls from my home in Florida. When I finally got to Stratford it was to see a beautiful, clean, friendly atmosphere that would be perfect for my parents. I brought Daddy over the next day to see the place, and he liked it. Right now when I talk to him on the phone he seems happy, he loves the food and he likes being able to decide for himself how social he wants to be. The care services are great, they notify me of any appointments they have and work really well with the private nursing service we use to get them around. All in all, Atria was the right choice for my family.

All around great service!!

I have no complaints about the quality of care that my wife has been receiving from this community. She has said nothing negative about the food and has enjoyed participating in many of the activities they have to offer throughout the day. Overall I am pleased with Atria and would recommend this place to anyone.

Just right!

My family really love this place. My loved one has transitioned nicely and the staff is wonderful and helpful. Everything has gone good and we couldn't ask for a better place.

I Liked My Tour

I liked my tour and the community seemed okay. They had activities going on. The residents seemed to enjoy the activity. They gave me the necessary information about the place. My mom thought it was a big community and not the feeling of a home.

Facility of 100 apartments is BEAUTIFUL. Staff caring, friendly with long work histories there. Lunch was delicious. My mom wanted her drinking water warmed (no ice) which they did. Lots of activities on & off site. 17-year-old facility is getting interior fresh paint, new rugs, new furniture in common areas, soon to be completed. 15% Discount to families with any family member connected to Sikorsky. A resident there named Sarah joined us for lunch with her personal experience there. Lovely lady who LOVES it at Atria.

Care for mom

Great place. Everyone is so friendly. Toured different places and Atria was by far the best. I know my mom is getting the best care she could get

My mom has been in the memory care unit about two weeks so I don't have a lengthy perspective. She is adjusting and everyone has been very kind. It is good to know that she is safe.

A Good Transition Into The Community

This community is always clean and provide daily cleaning to my mom's room also with a weekly thorough cleaning. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, attentive, accommodating and hands on within the community. My mom eats her food and thinks it's very good. Mom also goes on scenic drives and listens to musical concerts and other great activities. Everything has been great and I absolutely would recommend this place.

A very happy place!!

When mom moved in and we signed the papers they were very truthful about the community. The entire staff has been excellent and are very accommodating with us and my mom. My mom raves about the food. She participates in an exercise class and has taken advantage of the beauty shop that is downstairs. The community itself is very well maintained and I have no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend Atria Stratford to family and friends. I was also happy with my representative with A Place for Mom.

A Bit Expensive

Our experience with this community has been good thus far. My brother seems to be adjusting well with the move. It is a nice looking community and is well maintained.

My brother is a little more high functioning than most of the residents there, and does not tolerate disrespect. He feels that some of the CNA's are a little insensitive to him and the other residents. I do feel that some of the staff could use some sensitivity training.

On the other hand, My brother does enjoy the food and says that it tastes good, which is a plus for him. I would recommend this agency to other families, but I would just make sure you are financially secure because this community is on the expensive side.

Nice place, overall

Overall our experience with Atria Stratford has been a good one. This is our first experience with a senior community, and it took a bit for my loved one to get used to things, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Atria. The staff is friendly and professional, and the facility itself is clean and well kept.

enjoy it

One thing that I would like to see changed is that if the resident decides to go out for a meal, that should be deducted from their meal service. They also could improve a little on communication. Some information can be hard to find and it can be hard to get answers to questions sometimes.

Overall though my sister enjoys it and is doing well there. It is still a work in progress.

The tour was very thorough and relaxed. The caregivers were very friendly. Taz was a big hit with everyone. Michele answered all our questions. I am not ready for assisted living at this time.

Not for me

After looking at several communities, I felt this was not for me. Although clean and convenient, the atmosphere was not for me. Having spent the majority of my life as a single businesswoman, I could not see myself fitting in, even from a marginal standpoint. Perhaps if I was a male, I would have felt differently. I decided on a place on Park Ave., 3030, and couldn't be happier.

The Best For My Mom

Every staff member is very considerate of the residents and visitors. A wonderful relief to know my mom is receiving the best care 24/7. Communication between staff and relatives is excellent.

Everybody there is overly happy

Everybody there is overly happy! It's almost weird how friendly they are. Everybody is very welcoming and very much wanting to help. I love it there. The only complaint is that once you get in there, they have additional stuff they try to sell you on. In the words of my husband they "suck you dry".

This has been a wonderful home for our Mom. Such a friendly place. She is extremely happy here.

It was extremely clean, and the dining room was lovely and the food was good.

It was extremely clean, and the dining room was lovely and the food was good. They take day trips and things, they are a great place, but if your loved one needs a lot of care, there may be a lot more expense involved. I had to have an aide there 24 hours a day. Their transportation was very good there. They had OT and PT come in. They were very expensive, and he needed more care than what we had thought initially, and what they assessed him as needing. They were good about working with us on the move in price. All in all it's a good place, but there are certain things they are not equipped to handle, like a catheter.

Wasn't impressed by the tour

We toured this place when we were looking into options for our loved ones. In general it just seemed dark, and wasn't as clean as others we had seen. The residents just didn't seem very lively or happy.

short term respite

My mom recently stayed at Atria of Stratford while my husband and i went on a Mediterranean cruise. Everyone there was most accomodating and pleasant, and I was able to enjoy the trip worry free because I knew that I had left her in a caring environment. As the time of the trip approached, the room that had been promised to her was not available, so Diane most graciously allowed her to stay in the model apartment.

Not One Bad Thing to Say

I think my folks are doing wonderfully there. They would never tell you that but they are thriving much better than I even thought they would. It's a beautiful place. They're excellent caregivers and are very in tune with the residents. They cater to their needs on the spot. It's really a great place and it is very homey which I like a lot.

So far has been a very good experience and I actually have referred other people to go and check the place out that are in the same kind of situation as I am. It's lovely. You walk in and you feel like you're part of the family. That's what it is: one great big family. It's hard to do that with your loved one but I would recommend it to anyone. My folks have not had one bad thing to say about anything.

No Issues

I visited informally awhile ago and thought it was a nice facility, but did not follow up with any in-depth contact.

Wonderful Staff

My sincere thanks to the staff at Atria for their assistance with my Mom. She came around and enjoyed being free of life's stresses. At home, she was losing her independence and now she is thriving with all the activities and fine dining. The staff's genuine concern for my Mom means so much to us.

My dad wished he moved in sooner

My father is very independent and resisted leaving his home, he has been at Atria for over a 1 year and he wished he moved in sooner.

Wonderful place

The staff at Atria Stratford is doing a wonderful job caring for my mom with the kindness and warmth that someone of her age and pride needs. I have experienced something at Atria Stratford that is special. Everyone knows what a difficult road this has been for my mother because of the tragic loss of my fabulous sister. She has needed the kind care and concern that each and every one who comes in contact with her gives to her.

Clearly designed to deal with memory care, but the memory unit is sans pets and mandatory roommates, so not what Mom would pick if she were capable of making the choice. But, right in town.

We appreciate your review and I would like to address the concerns you mention. All of our memory care apartments are companion suites. The benefit to someone with dementia is that they have the sense of security and comfort knowing that a "good neighbor" is nearby. Great friendships are quickly established and they don't feel lonely. Our residents actually spend very little time in their apartments as our nationally-recognized memory care program is full of activities both in and out of our community that help our residents thrive. And although pets are not allowed in the memory care neighborhood, visiting pets are always welcome. I encourage you to contact us with any questions at [removed] and include the Atria community name in your subject line.
