Customer Reviews

More of a small boutique hotel feel. Convenient to shopping areas like Target, Publix and Trader Joe’s

Very nice, price is more affordable than most other options, professional staff. Downside: recent management and staff changes, planned construction (mostly outdoors). Plus: It's close, it's clean, it's nice but not luxurious

Home away from Home

I was a resident at Ashton Court for the month of March, my experience with staff and tenants was met with total satisfaction and for the brief period I was there, I was engaged, enlightened and quite impressed with not only the apartment, but the desserts, cocktail hour and the staff who was always very pleasant; warm and embracing, making my transition as easy as possible. The culinary aspect of my stay was quite considerate; as it was healthy and well balanced.

I’d like to take The opportunity to thank [name removed], for her insight, dedication and warmth, while settling me in for the month.

Thank you for your warmth and kindness,

Very accommodating staff. They were very attentive to my parents needs. We are awaiting their ADL assessment. Overall the facility was clean and the residents we spoke with shared favorable experiences. The one bedroom apartments were on the small side but we will be comparing them to others. The community is still in the running based on a number of positives including proximity to where we live. Best, [Name removed]and [Name removed] on behalf of my parents.

I recently visited this community with my Dad. The building and grounds are very nice. It is apparent they have spent more money on the grounds than the building, there are several issues on the inside that I would have addressed before the outside.
The people taking care of the Residents are very friendly and seem to really care about each Resident.
The people I met and talked with only wanted to talk about how many things they were doing like trips out of the building and parties. I thank that is really good. But, I'm looking for a place to take care of my Dad. I'm a little hesitate about a place that has three people responsible for activities and only 1 Nurse.
I will continue to look, but Ashford Court will remain on my list as a possible.

Mom and Dad love it and so do we

High Recommend this Marsh Landing location and beautiful senior home that truly feels like home to my Mom and Dad. They are secure and love all the good food and fun. The girls that work there truly care and make sure they are well taken care of.
We are so glad that if they need Memory Care, the other one can be close by and able to visit and participate. They have a lovely and roomy apartment, but every time I go over, they are playing games or other activities with their friends. Dad really likes his new friends and Mom is a talker, so she has no problems making friends. They love it and so do we. Easy to get to off of Butler in Marsh Landing.

I would give this place 0 stars if that was an option. My family member has been here for 3 years now. This is by far one of the worst assisted living facilities in Jacksonville and probably the surrounding areas as well. At first, you'll think this is the best place you could choose to put your loved one. As time goes on though, you'll come to find out, it will be one of the worst choices you've ever made. Once the welcoming party wears off, things will begin to change. They'll stop taking such good care of your family member/s. Your mothers and fathers will fall through the cracks. They'll be forced to sit in their own urine and feces for hours. There have been constant rodent/insect problems. Not only rats and roaches in the kitchen but in the rooms too. I know another family member who's father had rats in his room and management knew all about it, and nothing was done. The family isn't able to move their father out but wishes they could. The activities may be a plus but don't let them fool you. They don't make up for the horrific problems everywhere else. They have been through more management in my time dealing with them, than most businesses do in a lifetime. Also, the management is awful. All of the nurses have been subpar. None of them actually knowing what they're doing, or doing anything at all really. The Executive Directors placate you. They want you to believe they are taking your concerns into consideration and then never following through. The past two EDs have by far been the worst. One ED only lasted for a few months and I don't see the new one lasting any longer. They treat the staff terribly and cause the good ones to leave. The management spends more time gossiping about the staff than they do actually working. Especially the activities coordinator. She spends more time in other people's business and other people's departments than she does her own. The residents that live here are the only redeemable quality this place has. If it wasn't for them, I would have moved my mother out of here ages ago. Unfortunately, with the way things have been going, I'm not sure that is a sufficient enough reason to keep her here. Do yourself and your family member a favor and don't move them here. You'll regret it.

Caring staff, Lovely Building, Great location and value

We were very impressed with our first visit before taking Mom, so the next Monday we took her. She really doesn't want to give up her house, but knows she needs help. Pretty reluctant though.
The staff was very caring and touched a cord with Mom. She was reluctant after we had visited other facilities in the area that seemed sterile and not nearly as inviting.
They served us a wonderful lunch and the waiter made it feel like five star dining.
My sister and I feel that Mom will be secure and safe in this community.
We were looking for a home for Mom, not a facility and the staff really cared. I think Mom will fit in perfectly.
We stayed all afternoon and enjoyed a few of the activities with the other folks. Mom found a couple of new friends and they talked for an hour, until it was time for the happy hour. She was smiling when we left and said she really liked Ashford Court.
We are planning on moving her next week.

This facility was nice but seemed slightly run down. The staff member that I met with was nice but didn't have all of the answers to questions that I had.

My Tour Went Great

This a wonderful community, I really enjoyed my tour. The community is quite large, but from what I saw everything looked nice and clean. The staff was kind and friendly. They were very informative and answered my questions. It just wasn't the community for my mother, she felt she would feel overwhelmed.

upbeat and happy place

Ashford Court At Marsh Landing is great. As long as dad is happy we are happy. The best part about it is the residents. It is a very upbeat and happy place. I am very pleased with this facility. I have no complaints.

Think its wonderful

I think this is a real pleasant environment, i am so glad I choose it. The level of care is good and the staff is real friendly. They will answer any questions you have

Lovely community. Care needs tweaking!

The community is lovely & clean. The staff is kind & friendly, but not always timely in providing care. My father needs near total care and my mother has had to call many times to remind them to take him to meals & assist him to bed .
At first I thought my mother was exaggerating the lack of offerings and small portions on the dining room menu, but I saw it for myself the last 2 times I visited.
Have discussed these concerns with management, with minor improvement seen. Hoping for the best!

Needs Refreshing

It was a little dated on the facility. I would have like to have seen it refreshed. It wasn't quite up to snuff facility wise. The people there were very nice and everything but it kind of had a worn out feeling to it. It needed to be refreshed.
