Customer Reviews

Hermitage Review

The main problem is very substandard nursing care for the assisted living residents. Our family member who resided their noticed this as she is a retired RN. It was her main reason for leaving, should be become ambulatory in the future. She said that there is a lack of supervision of the nurses and some residents suffered unnecessarily, due to substandard medical care.

The air conditioning and heating is obsolete and uncomfortable.

If the above two items were corrected, the Hermitage would be a very good place.

From the Community

Just down a short walk from the vibrant downtown of historic Onancock, Virginia you’ll find the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore. This full service retirement community is the only continuing care retirement community on the Shore offering residential living, three levels of assisted living and skilled nursing care on the same 100+ acre campus. The Hermitage is also proud to be one of the not for profit, Virginia United Methodist Home’s communities that is both CARF and Eagle certified. The Hermitage has a 45 year history of being the community of choice for those who want to stay on the Eastern Shore. One of the best things about the community is that there is no large up-front fee to become a member. We hope you will reach out to learn more so you can judge for yourself if the Hermitage might be a wonderful place for you or your loved one to call home.
