Trying to not throw up!
I would not send anyone to this place. When I first walked in I wanted to throw up from the awful smell throughout the building. The place was so dirty and filthy all I could think about was when we were going to leave. There was only one resident out sitting. The grass had not been cut in ages and the community was shabby. I knew immediately this was not the place for my loved one.

Sunny acres AFC is located in beautiful Madison Heights, Michigan. The community itself is a very active one and residents have access to major hospitals, libraries and shopping. Moreover, it is possible for them to gain access to all of these things as long as they are physically and mentally well enough to participate. We pride ourselves on taking care of your loved ones as if they belong to our own family. In order to achieve that goal we have developed policies that require one staff member to be present for every three residents. This ensures that they receive the highest level of care possible. We also provide regular care from a podiatrist and an ophthalmologist and we offer mental and emotional counseling provided by a psychiatrist. We take care of many individuals who suffer from serious physical ailments that dictate that they no longer are able to live in their own homes. We also specialize in caring for patients who suffer from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. We have staff on hand that is specially trained to deal with patients who are suffering from conditions that cause them to express behavioral outburst such as yelling, cursing or attempting to escape. Because we work hard at providing a family environment for our residents, we make every effort for them to be as comfortable as possible. We strive to address their medical concerns while simultaneously addressing their emotional and mental health in order to help them deal with the changes are occurring in their lives and continue to enjoy their lives throughout their stay with us. If your loved one is suffering from dementia or from a physical ailment such as heart failure or diabetes, our specialized staff can help. Knowing that your family is being cared for allows you to deal with lifeÆs other demands instead of worrying constantly. Let us help you today.
