Customer Reviews

Even though I let them know my father had dementia and refused help they convinced me that my father would be fine there. They had many others in a similar situation. He missed the meal times, so I asked for the food to be delivered for an additional $5 per meal. They knocked once, and even though I told them he couldn't hear, they noted he didn't answer the door when they knocked, so no food was delivered. They also didn't clean his apartment for the same reason. He had three major incidents involving emergency services in the first eight days. Where I was told, he could not live there if it continued. After eight days it was clear he was not safe there, so I moved him out on the 10th day. They would not return the deposit and stated they would charge him for an additional 90 days. So for the ten days, he lived there they charged him over 6000 and tried to get another $6,000 extra out of him. The staff was unprofessional. The head chef and Assistant GM were openly speaking about firing the head of housekeeping in the main lobby in front of me and many others in the main Lobby. The people that live in the community are given ambassador roles which seems to create a lot og gossip and clicks. Food was horrible. One launch my Dad received when I was at the facility consisted of 1/2 cup of split pea soup and a thin 2" square of corned beef. Additionally, two days in a row he received a mini croissant with a half scoop of chicken salad and lunch is supposed to be the "Big" meal.

Perfect Spot

My mom has been there for 6 months. It was a big move for her but she is all settled in and very happy. She enjoys the food and the activities. She has made new friends. Thanks to a Place For Mom for making this transition seemless.

this residence was nice. They are only independent living. if you need other services you need to go outside and bring inhome care. More like senior apartments with a common area. nice location, next to medical.

My love one really likes living at Standiford Place. She is in one of the cottages and really appreciates having a both a front and back door. While she has not had a chance to get involved in the activities yet, she is enjoying both the food and the people she has met. I wish someone was available to help her get to the activity programs. She is afraid to go alone because she might get lost. I think going to the activities would help her a lot though. If she could have a staff member or buddy help her at least every once in a while, that would be great. Other than that, everything at Standiford Place has been wonderful.

Really nice community with plenty to do

My friend is here currently and I think it’s a good place to go. They’ve been great. The staff is very nice and they try to accommodate him as much as possible. They have really good meals, they have an ambassador that tries to get you involved with the community and the other residents, they take trips to the casino, they help keep his room clean and make his bed, and the community is just really nice.

Communication for care

We were not happy with this community. the staff would not call back when we needed to speak with them. The community was clean and did have a good value. The other residents did appear to be happy. We did not have my brother move in. The manager would not call us back to see if my brother could move in. We like the community but was not able to speak with anyone.

Happy environment!!

I have no complaints of how things went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I was impressed with the presentation they had and how professional they where throughout our visit. It was just not the right location for my loved one in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone.

Dad seems to like the staff they get along well.

The residents are nice and dad has made some friends. They offer daily activities. He seems to enjoy the food. I thought it was good quality food similar to cafeteria style food. The community is clean and I would recommend it. Compared to others this community is very good. The community does show it's age in certain places, however overall the look and feel is pretty good. Dad has a first floor apartment with a security door to an outside patio.

This community seemed ok.

This community has an interesting set up as the dining room is located on the third floor. This community is more for independent living and any additional services you need are separate costs. The community seemed clean and the people I met were nice.

My Father is Doing Very Well Here

It has been a great experience for my father here at this community. They have a good staff here, I know my father is being cared for well. I would say the cleanliness could be better. They are trying their best with everything. Overall he is safe and in good hands here.

Entertainment is Great!!

The community offers wonderful meals and a pristine dinning experience for my loved one. The staff have been great at encouraging my mother to get more involved in the activities and different entertainment they offer throughout the week.

Standiford Place

Very pleasant surroundings. Very attentive to resident needs and desires. Lots of activities. Excellent food and ambiance.

Standiford Place

Standiford Place is well run and appears to do everything possible to provide a cheery and pleasant environment for their residents, Lots of acivities, excellent food, and a clean and wholesome facility. I highly recommend it for your consideration.
The management does a very good job to assure the needs of the residents are met.

Very easy move.

One word to say, FANTASTIC !

one complant

1 complain not a ramp from parking lot . needed to get up from car. or out to car.

Managenent does not pay attention, unprofessional.

This facility receives a failed rating. First they put my mother with a roommate who has [removed]. Then when questioned about the problem and why they would put another tenant with someone like this they passed the buck blaming their sales team. Their sales team is part of management! They admitted hearing rors of the roommate and when we asked why nothing was investigated or questioned we were told "that's not our concern". This facility while an independent care facility is uncaring and shows no concern. What's worse the management attempted to double talk there way out of lack of caring and concern for their tenants. Very unprofessional. We not recommend this facility for the care of your loved ones.

Thank you,

A new, safe home for mom

We have moved my mom into standiford place and are finally comfortable that she is safe and well taken care of. The staff and residents are amazingly warm and welcoming. We are very happy that erika at a place for mom recommended it to us.

I would not send my worst enemy here if they were disabled!
My mother in law moved here 2 years ago it's always too hot and stuffy and has been known to smell like vomit.
She can not move around as well at others and really receives no accommodations, the buses are not designed for wheel chairs, and have no access lifts. She is mostly independent and doesn't require an assisted living facility or nursing home, but there are only two disabled parking spots and they always have the two exact cars. I went in and politely asked for a parking spot (because my mother in law does pay about 3,000.00 a month between her and her partner for a one bedroom), I was met with the rudest reply ever!
The exact words was a sarcastic "is she driving" followed by a chuckel and rejection!
I was and stil am disappointed by the response I received from Mr. Lewinsky. What is worse is that they have lied about how much rent would be and rate locking then when asked they claim they don't recall.
My mother in law picked this place because she had a friend living there but I always had a felling in the pit of my stomach about this place, we are currently looking for a new place for her to enjoy life and be treated with dignity.

Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Holiday Retirement Home Office. I'm so very sorry to hear that your mother has had a negative experience at Standiford Place. You are correct in that Standiford Place is an independent retirement community, so there is no level of assisted living or memory care service. However, with that said, no one should EVER be treated disrespectfully for asking a question to help their loved one. I'm so very sorry you experienced that. I've passed your comments on to Resident Relations here at Home Office. Please know that you are welcome to call them as well to add more details or follow up on the status of your concern. Their number is [removed].

My sincere apologies once more,

Happy with this choice

My mother has been living at Standiford Place for a couple of months now and is finding it quite satisfactory. The location is good, the facilities beautiful, the price is reasonable, and the people are friendly. Her apartment is light and airy and of good size. The food is very good, and there is extra assistance available (not included, but easily accessible) for those tasks people may need help with, like showering and getting to meals. She seems to be getting stronger, better able to walk and get around, as she's eating well and has the motivation to get up and at least get to the dining room if not all the other activities. My mom is almost 97, and we had looked around at many other places in our area, but this was the best. I'm happy she's there as I'm able to see her all the time and make sure she's doing well.

Working well so far

I think so far things have gone well for my loved one at Standiford Place. It is a nice looking, clean, well kept community, and the staff have been friendly and accommodating. It is primarily an independent living community, but they do have an on-site aide service you can hire, and they have been doing a good job seeing to my loved one's needs.

Everything is good.

Everything is good. I don't have any concerns, I would rate them very highly. Everything is very clean, and the staff is friendly. The food is good. There really isn't anything that needs to be improved or done better.

great place to spend the later years of life

this was a great place, have been there twice and both times was very great the staff and Tanya , Greg were very very hospital, they went out of there way to show me around the meal were very good and dinning staff were very friendly. as soon as I can get some things taken care of, I will be moving in

The activities are popular

I've only been here a short time. It's very clean, I'm satisfied with that and they are friendly - there are no problems there. It's not cheap but I guess, for what I'm getting, in this economy, it's probably the right thing. The activities are overwhelming. Mostly I don't do them because there are a lot of card games and things like that and I've never really been interested in that. I do play bridge with the group and I usually pay attention to what the movies are but I don't go. The activities are popular with a lot of people but they're not things that I've ever been interested in.

Excellent Food

Our loved one really loves it here. The food is just excellent, we ate the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes that was great and another time we had chicken with mashed potatoes that was equally as good. The friendliness of the management group really drew us in and the way they were so accommodating really made them the community of our choice. Not only would we recommend them we already have.

This was a very nice independent living facility. Management (Greg) was very nice and informative. This would be a good choice if my dad was a little more independent. Price is good for all the amenities. Still would require medication management & laundry services. This felt very homey and comfortable.

Staff member welcomed us and immediately offered us a tour. We were impressed with the surroundings and the flexibility of the room charges, but are wondering if having only one elevator would be somewhat dangerous.
