Customer Reviews

Mulberry Gardens is amazing

Mulberry Gardens is absolutely the best. The staff is amazing They are patient, kind, loving, fun and very attentive to everyone. Im so glad my Grandma is able to enjoy her life to the fullest. Thank you Mulberry Gardens.

I have had two relatives live at Mulberry Gardens. The staff works hard in a fast paced environment to give great care. The Activities department keeps the Residents moving with daily exercise and fun activities all day long, both inside and outside the facility. From Resident Assistants to housekeepers to managers, the staff work very hard to make the facility not just a facility, but a home.

Unfriendly and full of themselves

Weekend receptionist is absolutely terrible. Wouldn't want her working at my business. Unfriendly, not helpful at all. Everytime I walk in there's not a hello nor a goodbye. Complete trash. Maybe they should consider hiring friendly staff when working with the public... unreal.

I have a family member at Mulberry and the review in March 2016 is mostly accurate. Unfortunately you have to monitor this facility as it is not the safest for your love ones. No one is checking on the residents routinely.Seems to be more and more turnover and not enough help.

Mulberry Garden Munroe Falls

Don’t send your love one to live here. Mulberry presents like a wonderful place to live when you tour the facility. Once you are moved in it is a different story, so unless you have unlimited hours to check up and make sure the promises are being kept keep looking! Mulberry promises things they can’t deliver on: Laundry every week, good meals, great care etc. You play by their rules or they throw the resident out.

There aren’t enough aides to go around and the aides have to waitress three times a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meal times last over 2 hours because the aides are busy getting the residents their meals. The residents are gathered up by the aides forced to sit in the dining area for 2 hours while the aides change their aprons (literally) and then take orders and deliver the cold food! It isn’t until the cold food is served to each resident that then the residents can be taken back to their rooms. Again, literally two hours 3 times a day. Have a meal there and look at these poor people sit there for the entire meal: it is painful. And if a resident needs assistance during this 6 hours a day - forget it, because the residents live around Mulberry’s schedule

The nursing staff is GREAT, no problems what-so-ever, it is the management that you will have problems with. Your requests will be for nothing. You can request this or that four, five times and NO one in management does a thing about it. They will tell you “well we told so and so I guess someone didn’t get the message.” The communication between management and aides is poor to say the least, yet management tells you “call us” with any concerns. Plus management is flat out rude! As if you are a bother!

Some of the aides are good but the turnover is ridiculous. There is a revolving door and it is VERY confusing for the residents having someone new come into your room every other week. This is not an exaggeration, read the employees comments on the website Glassdoor. If you are lucky enough to have an aide that sticks around for more than a month you might be semi okay until Mulberry gives them five days off in a row then you are screwed because your loved one will have someone who knows nothing about them and could care less. Management treats these employees like dirt and they are very rude to them. At night after 8 pm there is NO management in the building and NO ONE in sight you can roam the halls and not see an aide or nurse anywhere. They give showers to residents at ten o’clock at night because there aren’t enough aides during the day (probably because they are waiting tables).

Put a monitor in your loved one’s room so you can monitor them! Mulberry isn’t watching them so do yourself a favor install a nanny cam so you don’t worry every night and day.

I have had family in here and another assisted living facility and this is not the place to be. If your loved one doesn’t require ANY kind of care okay but not if they need assistance. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. They might qualify as a “senior living” facility but NOT an Assisted living!

Friendly staff, good food

Overall we're very pleased with how things have turned out at Mulberry Gardens! The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the accommodations are good. They do an excellent job with the food as well! The staff is extremely friendly and kind, and they do a great job looking out for the people who live here.

I think they have done really well

I think they have done really well. Both of my grandparents are there together. My grandfather does not hear well. What the staff perceives as them fighting is not fighting. This is the way they communicate. They get along, but I feel that the staff was jumping to conclusions without knowing the situation. They suggested separate living quarters, but there is no need for that.

Good Care, but Lack of Communication

There is sometimes a lack of communication. My mom has doctor appointments at 1 and they eat from 12:30 to 1:30 and when I show up at 12:15 she has not eaten yet and they claim I had to tell them, but they know she has the appointment, so I am just working through that right now. My mom is happy there though and the care they give her is excellent.

If you are looking for great care at a reasonable price in the Akron/ Stow area, check out Mulberry Gardens.

I have been so impressed with how Mulberry Gardens has helped my father-in-law. They encourage him to signal them by pull cord or pendant for ANYTHING, even if he just wants someone to talk to, and get there within 5 minutes. Twice he has needed to go to the hospital and they haven't hesitated to call the squad, but have also communicated everything to us. They call frequently with any questions or concerns. The value is good, the studio apartment he has is very large and roomy. The dining room (and whole facility for that matter) is large, open, bright, and airy, and there are NO SMELLS. Housekeeping is included, and the caregivers and nurses have treated him very well. He has also been encouraged to participate in field trips, which he was surprised to find he enjoyed a great deal. And, they transport him to appointments, saving us time!

Beautiful, Newer facility, pay for care. very friendly, very interactive.
