Worst Facility

During thee 2 months that my Mom was at the Magnolias, a month and a half was spent with her glasses missing, the nurse manager told me I should look for them. Routinely her dirty laundry which my family washed was soaked in urine (wet) and not in plastic bags ( I handled urine soaked clothing). Very few of my concerns were addressed, which is why my Mother was there for only 2 months. Calls to the Corporate office were not returned.

Magnolias was nice. Of the 4 I visited, Magnolias was the only facility that was totally Memory care. All the others had assisted living and memory care.I found that very interesting but special. You have to be dedicated and have a passion to work with dementia and Alzheimer patients full time. The facility was very pretty and they had lots of activities designed for the residents. The hallways were very wide which would allow two people in wheelchairs to move along with ease. They had shared and single rooms but their shared rooms consisted of two twin beds in a single room. Not quite sure how I feel about that. It may be a good thing for dad to have a roommate as opposed to being in a room by himself. Also the other facilities evaluate residents on a point system. Magnolias doe not have a point system. They have skilled nurses in the AM and CNAs and Med Techs in the evening and night hours. The distance is about 35 minutes from my house but you go through a lot of traffic to get there.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. We appreciate your kind words! We strive to create a great life and welcoming environment for our residents here at Magnolias of Chesterfield. Our staff is amazing, and our residents build wonderful relationships with all staff members.
Please let us know if there is anything additional we can do for you. Thank you!

We're moving our dad here. The marketing director is very flexible and accommodating. She is not pushy or sales driven in any annoying way. She is very relaxed and approachable. The cost and incentives right now are fantastic and can't be ignored. It's a small, intimate community much like where he is now, except that it's considerably less, yet comparable in look and feel. Any transition is tough, but I feel better and better the more I interact with the staff. I had no idea this place existed and am thankful that [name removed] from A Place for Mom connected us as I was about to give up.

We are excited to hear that your father is moving into Magnolias of Chesterfield. We strive to give all of our residents a great life and we cannot wait to give that to your father! Thank you for your trust in our staff and community members.

They were very friendly. Showed me around answer any and all of the questions that I had. The place was very clean, And the prices of the care were very reasonable. They told me that I could bring any kind of furniture of my mother's to make her stay feel more like home.

This is a great place for my mom's respite care

I really love Magnolias of Chesterfield they took such good care of my mother while she was there for respite care. In fact I have told several friends about them as well. The meals and activities were just right for my mom, its nice and clean and I do plan to use them again. Both my sister and I are our mom's care givers and we know that she is well taken care of when she goes there.

Great Tour!!

I have no complaints about the tour that I had taken at this community for my loved one. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked the floor plan they had available as well as other great amenities for all all of the residents. It was just not the right fit in the end decision.

Not Satisfied

Never trust that this facility will properly care for your loved one, especially if they have any form of dementia. They'll make you promises to get you moved in, but when it comes right down to it, they do not follow through. Unless you call the corporate offices of Meridian Senior Living, nothing you ask will be done. They do not take the time to give showers or take people down to the dining hall for meals, or even see to it that patients are getting proper nourishment and hydration. They do NOT cater to specific dietary needs unless you spend the extra money to purchase specific foods, and even then there is no guarantee that it makes it to your family member at mealtime. My loved one was severely dehydrated and became septic to the point of organs shutting down, resulting in death, while in the care of this facility. There are very few people in this facility who truly care about the patients, it's mostly about money and how much they can take. When someone passes away, they will call you the next day and ask you to clean out their room at your earliest convenience so they can get it rented, and will also charge you a per diem for each day post death that items are in the room. I would NEVER place my family member in this facility again.

Very clean, open, nicely kept facility. Very nice staff. Men and women are not segregated. No urine smell anywhere. No van yet, but planning on getting one for the community. The residents paint a lot on canvas, which is hung throughout facility. Bright. Beauty salon in facility. Semi private or private with easy walk-in showers.

Care for my dad

My father became a resident in Magnolias of Chesterfield in mid Febroary. So far, things are going good for him. The staff is taking good care of him and he seems happy.

Staff courteous and friendly.
Clean safe environment
Nice use of outside courtyards.
Quick response to clients special needs.

Very nice place!

We're very pleased with our experience at Magnolias of Chesterfield! The staff here is very friendly and professional, and they really do a great job looking after the residents! I liked that when we were preparing to move my loved one in they asked a lot of personal questions about her and made a little booklet about her likes and dislikes to give to the aides so they could get to know her. I also appreciated that they've got a full time LPN and doctors that visit multiple times a week.
They also do a great job with the meal service! The food is good, the dining room is well decorated and clean, and the service is fast!
And despite all of the high quality services they offer the price here is much lower than some of the other memory care facilities we looked at in the area!

would definitely recommend

Overall Magnolias of Chesterfield went very good. It was very clean. Everyone was very nice. They did have a mix up where they called my husband about my mother-in-law and they said she had been to the hospital and her husband went with her. Come to find out it was the wrong person. They made notes in the system on the wrong resident. So that was a little upsetting. Other than that we would definitely recommend them. This facility was also the least expensive of everyone else.

I am pretty happy with them.

I am pretty happy with them. It's very clean, that's one of the reasons I liked it. It was also one of the least expensive places. I'm hoping we can come back and stay for a while, it's a good place.

Mom was in the right place

I have no complaints about Magnolias of Chesterfield. Mom did participate in some activities that were offered there. The staff really did an outstanding job taking care of her the way they did. She passed away in August and the staff helped us get hospice care. Mom was in the right place at this facility.

great atmosphere

Magnnolias of Chesterfield has such a great atmosphere. The staff is learning as they go as it is a new facility. But they are doing really good at it. I am very pleased with this facility.

This is a great place for my mother to be in. The staff is wonderful. The food is great. The place is very clean. The staff is a great support system for the family. They take good care of the residents. Great activities for the residents.

Extremely satisfied

We are extremely pleased with how things have turned out at Magnolias of Chesterfield. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the staff is friendly and professional. I'm extremely satisfied with the amount of one on one attention that the staff provides to my loved one, and when I visit I see that they provide that level of care to every resident. I would highly recommend them.

Very nice place!

They're doing a wonderful job at Magnolias of Chesterfield! The staff here are very friendly, and they've been very very sweet to my loved one! She has quite a few care needs, but they've been very accommodating and more than happy to work with us to get her the care she needs. I really like that for the most part (including almost everything except incontinence supplies) the pricing is all-inclusive.
