Customer Reviews

A good place for mom..

My mom was placed In Lamplight about eight weeks ago. Mom was a hard person to place. She thought that she did not need help and could do it by herself. Lamplight seemed to be the right place for her. It took us quite awhile to decide but in the end we made the right choice. She needed harp with her meds and and her diet. Mom has gained back about 15 pounds since living at Lamplight. She is in the memory care unit due condition .We are quite happy with all of the care services provided at Lamplight. We definitely made the right decision . Thank You

Need better care!

My brother was here for 5 days and was injured many times. He was not getting the proper care that he needed. The staff was nice enough, but the care was not there. The community was clean and neat as well.

My Brothers Care

My brother is very happy here. The staff is great ande very caring. It makes me very happy to see how clean the community is. The offer his activities to keep him busy when possible and he enjoys that alot. I would recommend others to see this great place for great care.

I moved my husband out of this community about a year ago!

I was not impressed with the personal care my husband was receiving at Lamplight. They had a high turnover of caregivers and management. When my concerns were brought to their attention things changed for a few days and then it was back to normal. A few of the staff members were good with him and you could tell it was more than a job for them. Things may have changed since he left so this community could be worth a look. The community was kept clean.

My tour of this facility was good. This is a pretty well maintained community. From what I saw everything appeared to be nice and clean. The staff was kind and courteous. They were informative and answered my questions. It was a nice tour, but I just didn't feel this was the community for my mother and her needs.

Affordable, Nice Community

My mother is doing well here at this community, she is on the memory care side. The community for the most part is well maintained. The staff is great, they have been helpful and caring. There are nice activities offered for the her when she is ready to try. The food is good, she is pleased with the meals. I would highly recommend this community, because they are providing her with great care. Everything has worked out well.

We checked out Lamplight Inn, and were very impressed with the cleanliness, and the warmth of the staff. When the time does come to place Mom, we will place her there.

Wonderful care iverall

Wonderful staff. They are kind, thoughtful, and are genuinely caring. Excellent food. Rooms are spacious, clean, and the grounds lovely. The only thing they need is more activities. Most activities seem for lower functioning people and my higher functioning (today anyway) mother gets bored.

We have been very pleased

We have been very pleased with the staff and the services. My father seems really happy. The Lamplight Inn of Fort Myers is a nice community. Everyone is very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean. It's kind of expensive. They offer a variety of activities to keep the residents busy. Overall, It has been a pleasant experience. I'm glad that my father is happy here.

very friendly and personable

I really like how Lamplight Inn of Fort Myers tailored their solution individually to my fathers needs. They were also much more friendly, personable, and helpful than any of the other places we looked at. It has been a very good experience with Lamplight Inn of Fort Myers and I would highly recommend them.

Very old facility, old wore furniture, just one hallway and 2 small activity rooms for the memory care wing.

taking good care of my parents

They take really good care of both my parents. They are concerned a lot for their well-being.

The one thing where they really could improve is the food. Dad says the food is just awful, and I don't think he's alone.

Other than the food, everything about Lamplight Inn of Fort Myers is wonderful.

Attention to all reading this and other reviews:
First of all: ALL of those other reviews were written many years ago.
Yes. It's very possible they USE to have a bad staff, etc! My father has been living there for 4 years and has been very happy. He does have his bad days but that is due to his Dimentia not the staff or the facility.
After they changed their name almost a year ago a lot of decorating (furniture, plumbing, etc) were updated. So Lamplight, I think you need to update your website.
My sister and I have NEVER had a problem with any staff or their care of the residents. And most times we arrive unannounced. If we call and ask to have him ready to go out and not let him go to breakfast or lunch they will do that for us.
They also added a lot of daily activities.
They do have the alert button system but they do need to be taught how to use it properly. Because of the ads on tv my dad would not use his when he fell because he thought the ambulance would come and take him to the hospital (where he hates to be). My sister and I had the nurse show him that when he pushes the button it goes to the cell phone she keeps in her pocket. After he saw that he started pushing it whenever he fell and couldn't get up.
These rooms are like hotel rooms. The doors are always closed. And the staff respect that. They don't go in the rooms without knocking first. And they don't go in when the resident isn't there except the laundry.
Please do not take to heart past reviews. This is an excellent place.

My father has been living here for 4 years. It is a great place.
Always clean.
Everyone is always friendly whether I call or come in.
The food is really good. Lots of variety in the menu. I have eaten there a few times.
Absolutely wonderful and very patient with both my dad (has Dimencia) and the family members.
Management is always very helpful with any questions or concerns.
Rooms are well taken care of. Spacious.
One resident per room. Unless it's a married couple.
Onsight laundry that staff does for the residents.
I fully recommend this place if you have a loved one that can take care of themselves but cannot live alone.

Activities addressed to the residents ages

Activities are NOT geared for Adults. Too many are just
for kindergarten children. Why? Repeated activities
are used over and over. Rarely do you hear residents
enjoying the activity and are laughing. Why are Sunday
Activities rare? What about some evening activities would
be nice. How about evening movies. I feel your Activities
Director chooses only activities that do not represent
the facility ages.

Had a bad experience

The main reason we selected this community was that they had the call-button pendants for the residents to use in an emergency. This facility had those pendants, but told us that they were in the process of transitioning to a better brand. During this transition process we came in and found our loved one unconscious in her bed covered in waste, and she had been unable to call anyone. We took her out of the facility immediately. This is no excuse, but they were in the process of transitioning from one management company to another. We liked the look of the facility when we were touring, and they layout was very nice, but I can't recommend them based on the bad experience that we had.

They get zero stars.

They get zero stars. They had bad plumbing. The only thing that was decent was the food. It was awful it was a terrible place and they are liars and cheats. I wouldn't send anyone here. Wherever you go they want this community fee and I think it's so unfair. They made a deal in price and deposit, and that is why we chose it. They had a broken back door in the room, you couldn't get out, that is a fire hazard. He was left in the room. They had no activities. They had one 6x6 room for activities and it was all women playing pokeno and bingo, there was not one man. Some of these things need to be revamped. They are just so nice until they get you in there.

Professional and Courteous Staff

I have talked to my friend that I have living there and he said that the food is good, but the building is a little dated. I was just walking through, but cleanliness seemed good. If you are just walking through, you don't have a good sense but at first glance it seemed like the staff was very friendly. They were very professional and courteous, but it was a marketing visit, and it is the day to day interactions that matter. When I talked to my friend at Emeritus he said that there are a couple of nurses that are very helpful and take their job seriously. One or two things they said that they couldn't do a certain task for one resident, because then they would have to to do it for all the residents. The nurses that I interacted with were very professional. They play Bingo and jeopardy type games, and have dinner outing and stuff like that.

No Activities

Really the same thing as The Lakes, they don't take care of the residents. They were just sitting in wheelchairs outside the hall with no interaction. Nothing going on at all! I would have though that they would have more activities. I had to hunt someone down to meet with me, and I walked around the entire facility by myself and never checked in.

More Diversified Activities Please!

Everything is good except the activities could stand to be more diversified and have more of them. They have bingo and they bring people in for music but it just seems like there could be more to keep the seniors active and engaged.

Great Place

They're fabulous! I'm not sure of the activities because my mother doesn't participate in any of them but when I go there they seem to have a lot of activities.

I really can't say that I don't like anything about it. I really enjoy the staff and the way they have the place set up. They people are really friendly, even the residents. I feel it's a great place and I would recommend it to anybody!

Staff is the difference maker

The staff really made the difference here. They are very friendly and helpful. The rest of the community is pretty good. It looks like it was an old hotel where the rooms opened to the outside. What really makes this place a good place is the staff.

Unfortunately Emeritus was ...

Unfortunately Emeritus was NOT aware that I was even coming! Somehow, someone did not follow up on that. Nonetheless they were most gracious and spent a lot of time with me, answered a lot of questions, and exhibited an eager readiness to assist our family in our needs for my sister.

assisted, no pool?

assisted, no pool?
