Customer Reviews

Very friendly staff, and though residents are 20-30 years older than me, they really make my transition to a Retirement Community easy and they're absolutely delightful. The Landscaping also is very nice and soothing particularly in the evenings when it's a little cooler

I've found everything I wanted and needed.

I moved into Heritage Village four months ago, and I'm certain now that I made the best choice available to me. The cost was a major factor in my search, and Heritage Village is considerably less expensive than most of the other places I looked at and/or visited.
Location was the second factor because I wanted to escape the bitter winters of the Midwest. Heritage Village is tucked away in the southernmost part of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. The summers are hot, the winters are cool, but extremes are rare--and excellent air-conditioning and heating take the edges off when necessary.
What surprised and delighted me most was the strong community spirit that greeted me upon my arrival and sustains me even now. I'm very much involved in the activities here, and making friends was quick and easy.
The apartments are spacious (all with full kitchens), the grounds are beautiful, and the surrounding facilities (doctors, banks, hospitals, shopping, dining, etc.) are excellent and very close by.
Those who need caregivers find them easily and inexpensively. Facilities for more extensive care are very close by. The nearest hospitals are less than a mile away.
It should be clear by now that I'm delighted with the choice I made and would recommend Heritage Village without hesitation. (P.S. I am not a robot!)

There Are Good Benefits

The move in has gone very well for my mom and she likes it too. She adjusted pretty well and it has been
very positive so far. She likes the church service which is every week. They have meet some new friends too.
There are no complaints except that dinner is a little too early for her. I like that the meals are scheduled so they can see if someone is not there and they can go check on them. The one plus is that they allow residents to stay at sister location when going to another state. They were able to try this and were able to stay for free and that was a benefit for them. At first my mom didn't not want to move in and it turned out they did not have a furnished apartment available so she was able to go to a sister location in California, where she was at for the time.

They couldn't have been nicer at Heritage Village! Everyone greeted us and [Removed] showed us everything. My brother is a little shy but when we left even he said he liked it. 👍
Everything was clean, every resident we ran into made a point of talking to us. The one thing that stood out to me was that it was a very calm, friendly environment!
No hard sell, just answered questions and talked TO my brother, not about it him like he wasn't in the room.
The grounds were very nice and the option of having a nurse check on him was great.
He moves in next week and we are all excited for him!

Excellent Community

This is an excellent facility, and my parents are doing very well since the move here. All around this is a great community. I know they are safe, and in good hands. They have a wonderful staff. They are very kind, and caring. They always willing to help when needed. They do a great job with the cleanliness around the community. The food is delicious. They provide excellent meals for the residents. The apartments are very nice, and they are a wonderful outside area. This is a community I would highly recommend.

It turned out that my Dad also contacted your company, and a tour was scheduled for today 5/16/07. I went to this facility straight from Brook Ridge. [Removed] gave the tour, which was very nice. The grounds are beautiful, and I really liked the 1 bedroom with den apartment. I took pictures and scanned the provided brochures, forwarding them to my Dad for his consideration.

Not the Fit For My Mother, But Overall a Really Nice Community

My mother is doing okay since her move to this community. It is a very nice community, but I do feel my mother needs more of an assisted living community. This is more of an independent community. She likes the people, everyone is very nice. The community looks great. They have good prices, compared to the other communities rates. It is a really nice community, but not the right fit for my mother, and her needs.

Loved The Bigger Apartments

I have been happy with food and activities, we have been to some and they are suitable. Since we we are still settling in the staff have been very friendly. The gals who clean our apartment are especially nice and do a good job. The residents and people are nice in the community. I picked them because they have a larger apartment size.

Extraordinary Staff!!

I can't say enough good things about this place the staff are absolutely extraordinary, especially [Removed] the event coordinator and the assistant manager [Removed]. They have recently brought in the executive chef of the company to give the residents more healthy choices and a bigger variety of meals on the menu and my mother has loved all of the new changes. She attends all three meals and is always satisfied with the food she is presented. They offer a wide variety of activities including church services as well as bible studies on campus. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe and positive retirement atmosphere.

Everyone is very happy and friendly. I can sleep much better at night knowing my father is in a safe and caring environment. There is lots for him to do to keep him busy in the day.

I'am Doing Very Well Here

I'am doing pretty well here, I do like this community. It is a nice and clean facility, they come and clean my room once a week. The staff have been great, they are always willing to help. There are nice activities offered for me when I'am ready to participate. Everything has worked out very well.

Everything has been great.

Everything has been great. The maintenance is good, the people are friendly. No complaints about food or anything. They were the best place with the best price that we found.

Nice caregivers

The caregivers here are so nice. They treat us just like family. They are loving and warm. The place is always clean and clean smelling which is important. The food is good and the level of care is excellent.

The staff was very friendly. The residents who were there seemed very happy and lively. Love the grounds with the grown trees and pretty landscaping and the birds and squirrels. The apartments were ok. The carpet leading up to the apartments were a little worn looking. They provide transportation and outings and have many planned activities for the residents. The meal menu is varied and have several options to choose from.

Heritage Village a great place for mom

I never thought we would end up putting mom in assisted living. But here we are at Heritage Village, and what a lovely place. The staff from the minute we walked in the door were very attentive and eager to talk with us and give us a tour. Bryan explained everything about the place....and we knew by all the features and amenities we made the right choice for mom.

Unbelievably Nice

The entire staff is here is unbelievably nice. There are two new managers that are great and they respond to everything very, very rapidly. It's a great place for any loved one in your family!

It's clean and friendly, and the food was excellent.

When we went to Heritage Village, my loved one was one hundred percent fine. It was pretty and perfect I wanted to live there. It's clean and friendly, and the food was excellent. I would recommend them. But she had a severe panic attack, and everything changed for us. This is an independent place, so they didn't know what to do. We quickly found out that this wasn't going to work for my loved one anymore, we brought her home with us. Since then communication about how to follow up with the bill and the contract, has been lacking.

The food is the biggest problem. Other than that we like it..

The food is the biggest problem. They don't have a diabetic menu. Other than that we like it very well. They should add more activities.

From the Community
