Customer Reviews

This was our favorite lovely place nice staff

It Is All Exclusive

My mom's overall experience, since moving in, has been going well. I believe it is a good community for her. It's a pretty good place. They are providing good meals with activities to stay busy. It is also a clean place with very good staff.

A Visit To See Them

The community was clean and very positive. The staff were helpful and professional. I would recommend them to someone who needs the services. The tour went nice and it seemed to be professionally managed. I have no complaints when I toured.

Mom Has No Complaints

My mom likes the community she is living at. She has no complaints. It is clean and well maintained. My mom enjoys her meals from what she tells me. There are plenty of activities and my mom enjoys it.

Mixed experience

We had a somewhat mixed experience with Eskaton Lodge. They really try hard to win you over during the sales process, and in fairness to them I think that the care they provide is very good. However, I feel like their billing system and business practices in general could have been more straightforward and upfront. During the course of his stay my loved one ended up moving into their memory care unit. When he'd shown some improvement we asked if it was possible to move him back to the assisted living portion. They told us there was absolutely no way due to regulations. Until, that is, we mentioned possibly moving him to a different facility. Then they were completely willing to try that, and even went as far as to start giving our loved one tours of other apartments without notifying us, which I thought was a little underhanded. I also feel like they go a little overboard with the extra fees for various services, that is something you really need to keep an eye on or things get expensive fast.

Nice place, but it was pricy and I didn't see a lot of evidence of folks actually conducting a program for those in the mental area. In checking the State Databases, I did have some concern about the number of complaints and inspection findings.

Fantastically Helpful Staff!

My mom has Alzheimer's so she's in the pre-memory care and the care is very good. When I finally had to put my mother in there is was all on very short notice and it happened to be over the same weekend that I was getting married. Their staff was so good about taking care of everything for me. Their goal was to get my mother in and get everything taken care of and get me on my honeymoon. They were fantastic!

The only single complaint I have with them is their onsite nursing staff doesn't communicate very well from shift to shift. It's taking some time to work through that but I finally sat down with the director to talk about it and it has gotten much better.

They are very good. One of things they did for me was got my mom into a furnished room right away until I could pick up all of her furniture and bring it down. Then they pulled everything out of the room and put her stuff in on the same day so she could stay in the same room and not have to reorient herself to where the dining room is and where all the activities are. They were really really good about that.

Not Right for Us

I don't know if this is the best fit for Maxine, the person I am placing. I didn't realize that it's really more of a non-medical facility. It's more for daily living issues and she needs more hands on nursing care. I think for what Maxine needs, the care is probably around a 2. I think they're stretching it to allow someone like her in. She had dementia which I know they're used to dealing with but she also has diabetes on a sliding scale and she's falling. There's just not enough staff to monitor her the way she needs to be monitored.

Very nice facility. At the higher end of the pricing. They have nurses on staff and can do injections
