Clean and safe home

I would give this place 5 stars because I do think it is a very good value but I did have two issues. The first issue seems to have resolved itself but it had to do with one of the caregivers. It was pretty apparent from the beginning that she did not like her job. She wasn't very nice to the patients, and in one instance she told one patient who complained of being in pain that she was faking. That type of behavior is unacceptable if you are caring for the sick and elderly. I was glad to see she was removed after a couple of weeks. I was also concerned when my mother told me they fed her Spaghetti-O's and canned meals. I was told by the administrator that they feed home made meals, and I don't consider canned pasta home made. I asked the caregiver how often they feed canned food and she said occasionally at lunch time only. Other than those two issues, this is a very nice & clean home and they brought in a very sweet caregiver. She is very kind to the patients. If they get rid of the canned pasta they will get the full 5 star rating from me!

This was the FIRST Board & Care we visited (with several negative pre-conceived notions). However, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The house was clean, in a good neighborhood, had a good floorplan, and the care-givers and residents were all very pleasant. [Removed] was AMAZING. However, as my Mom's dementia has progressed, she often does not FILTER her thoughts and opinions. Though WE (her daughter and grandchildren) have no racial predjucice, we are concerned that my Mom might say some inappropriate and hurtful things to [Removed], who is a woman of color.

More activities please!

The staff and the community are wonderful. The meals are good and they provide a good portion for my loved one. The only thing that I would like to change is that they do not do a good job about the activities. They have plenty, but they do not try and get the residents involved. I would recommend the community though.

Bridging Lives II

They have been very good and attentive to my mother's needs. They are good about making sure she gets to the doctors appointments, they arrange and accompany her to the appointments. They make things convenient for you. I feel very comfortable with her being here, communication can be a little slow, they don't always get back to you right away, but they always keep me informed of what's going on. The staff is very friendly and very professional. They seem to have a close rapport with the residents. They report to me that she has good friendships with the other residents and keeps social and engaged. They run a tight ship. The food is good too, she looks forward to the food.
