Customer Reviews

Scamming senior citizens!

Lived here for almost a year. Trying to find another place to move to ASAP.
The place is filthy. Stains on all the rugs in the halls & dining room.(20 years old). Upholstered chairs are old, discolored, and urine stained!
Food gets worse with every month. Down to one chef for a couple of months. Soups are mostly vegetable with canned veggies, no flavor. Several days you can't get served a second cup of coffee. Hot dogs are a menu item at least once a week. Sandwiches several times a week.
Only one small elevator for a place with over 100 residents. Gurneys barely fit. 30 to 40 percent use walkers or wheelchairs. people have to wait in line to go up to 2nd & 3rd floors.
This is supposed to be "gracious independent living". It's anything but.
If you fall, they call EMS to pick you up. Many residents should be in assisted living.
Doors are locked at 7:30 pm. NO security !
Management is only concerned about the money

well done

Wounderful staff and outstsnding place to live

My exprience

[Removed] was wonderful she gave me suggestions and was honest and caring. She checked back with me to see how things were going.

Close second!

When I toured The Manor at Oakridge, I thought it was almost identical to Essex House. The facility was beautiful and everyone there was very friendly, but I got a better feeling when I walked into Essex house, so I went with them. There was nothing wrong with The Manor, they were a great choice as well.

Close to home

We are happy with the care from the staff at this community. The staff is caring and very attentive to my mother's needs. She is pleased with the variety of meals that are offered to here. We do like the activities. I am happy knowing that she is close to home and that we got a great value for the care that she is receiving.

Based on published information, no medical care is included. Not completely off our list but not on the top. Would prefer not to move Mom here and then somewhere based on medical conditions.

the staff really go above and beyond their job

At The Manor at Oakridge the staff really go above and beyond their job. I am glad she didn't have to go into a nursing home. I didn't realize there was such a great alternative. It's been a very good experience at this facility.

This is a beautiful, clean and safe environment for my mother. I can rest knowing there is 24/7 staff for emergencies. Three chef prepared meals so I know she is eating well. She doesn't drive so she can get her hair and podiatrist appointment right in the facility. Right now she has in home therapy. The staff is pleasant, helpful and professional. Our experience has been excellent!

They like it a lot there.

They like it a lot there. We don't have any complaints. The staff is friendly, and it's clean. The food is fine. The cable took a little while to get set up, but now it's in, and we are happy with them.

Carefree living for Mom.

My mother is very happy here. She loves having a balcony with a nice view, plenty of closet space and very comfortable living space. She has not needed care services, so could not rate it fairly.
People and staff are very friendly. Small dogs and cats are welcome! Drug store and Dollar Tree are within walking distance. Wish meal plan was more user friendly. They are all included, but served at exact times. Since breakfast is at 8:30, my mother will never make it quite that early. A small self serve breakfast buffet would be nice a couple times a week. So nice that activities are available plus occasional entertainment and crafts.
A very nice place for Mom.

Very nice place!

We're very pleased with how things have gone at The Manor at Oakridge! It is a clean, well kept community, and the staff have all been very friendly! They seem to take great care of the people who live here. I would recommend it!

The Manor at Oak Ridge

They set a nice table and have options available if you don't want to eat the main entree. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Very helpful staff despite the turnover. Friendly, caring and concerned staff, good food with plenty of choices and generally content residents makes for a pleasant experience.

Independent living only. Residents very social. Nice facility with well appointed residences. Walking distance to shopping. Lots of activities available.

Picked primarily for location

We checked out a couple of different places and narrowed down our options to The Manor and The Essex House. We decided to go with The Manor because of it's location. We tried the food at The Manor at Oakridge and it is fine. I understand they are going through a bunch of chefs right now.

The director was very helpful. Would have given 5 stars but the glassware in the dining room was in need of a good cleaning. All on the set table were dirty. Price was right. The residents that I spoke with seemed happy and friendly. The "show" rooms were clean and the bathrooms safe and large. Many interesting services would be available as well. The monthly activity schedule was filled.
