Customer Reviews

I have lived at Shannon Oaks for just over a year, and this has been the most comfortable year of my life. Suites are a decent size, well maintained. We have comfortable lounges, a lounge/theatre with projector, games room, hairdresser and a very diligent Activities Coordinator. Everywhere is well carpeted. Staff are extra helpful, administration is flexible and ready to listen to our concerns.
Big hang-up is catering. Menus are great. There are choices, and if we don’t like them, there are alternatives. If we still don’t like them, the staff look for ways of finding us something.
What could be better? One aspect of catering – cooks. Example, borscht is nothing like what they serve us. We are promised Ambrosia and get a bowl full of marshmallow with a couple of bits of fruit. Frittata here is a big lump of scrambled egg. Fortunately. Our suites all have a kitchenette with full size fridge, so we can top-up.
If you have the money, this is the place to live.

To add to our mystery of being alone at Christmas--
Christmas day this year. Mid day was the main meal of the day.
No soup. A thin piece of slimy turkey scraps, quarter inch cubes of carrot and turnip - roasted, hard and bitter, mashed potato. When the world was settling down to a Christmas meal late afternoon, we we offered Assorted Sandwiches.
