Customer Reviews

Poor living

I have a friend lives here and is mistreated by a resident. This has been reported but nothing is done. The facility is against being gay. Personal attacks by residents toward other residents are overlooked by staff and administrators.

Liked the location and view, staff were nice and informative. Rooms were very small compared to other facilities.

Based on my tour...The staff is very nice and welcoming. No unpleasant odors...Reasonably priced...Will provide most of the furniture..
I have read some unpleasant reviews regarding the staff's support of current residents.

WE did not tour the Senior Living Center, but their new Memory Care Center. It was very good and we will register [Removed] for Respite Care there in October. Thank you.

[Removed] was very knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to work with. The facility was clean and well kept. The food looked good. The chef and other staff members were also friendly and accommodating.

Taking Good Care of Mom

My mother is doing well with her move to this community. They are taking good care of her, and her needs. I feel like I have a peace of mind now knowing she is in good hands. They have a wonderful staff. This is a great community.

Excellent place!!

This place has fantastic staff! I could never say enough great things about them and all of the things they have done for my dear friend. They have done multiple evaluations on her too make sure that she receives the care she needs and have improved her nutrition immensely. The nurses are outstanding as well, they check on her three times during the night and make sure that she remains comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Everything is going fine!!

Everything is going fine for my mother so far at this community. She has had no complaints about the food as seems to be enjoying the activities with the other residents that they have available throughout the week. The staff have been very helpful and seem to be very organized in everything they do.

Be ware!

Very disappointing care at dementia center - my relative received great care at the rehab center at the top of the hill and assumed the care would continue at the nursing/dementia care center. We found them dirty, they have developed infections - Look around For the price $5400. a month its a total rip off.

This is what Mom deserves in elder care

Not only did I enjoy my tours of the facilities sat Pheasant RIdge, I moved my mother in the AL side on [Removed]!
I was impressed as to the attention I saw caregivers showing the residents, the details they offer such as meal & activity reminders and escort services, and especially that my mother was no longer going to be alone in her room for hours on end. This had been the norm, and a source of her depression at the last facility.

Extremely Pleased

My mother had recently declined with her health, so as a family, my brother, sisters, and I decided to look for placement for her. We obviously wanted the best care for our mother, so we checked around the Valley. When we went for our tour at this facility, it was a delightful event. Immediately walking through the door, the atmosphere was welcoming and warming. The staff were extremely friendly, the room selections were perfect. We had a choice of 3, so we let mother pick her favorite. She has a living room with 2 separate bedrooms, private shower and bathroom, and a kitchenette. Her room over looks the mountains and to her, it's breathtaking. We got to attend lunch, and the food was fantastic. They did not bring her a tray, like most facilities in the area, she was handed a menu with a choice of 2 entree's and 2 sides, with dessert. Mother also loves that breakfast is made to order! The maintenance team was very helpful with moving her in and accommodating her. And for her first week there, the facility assigned a person designated just for her, so she could become acclimated to the facility and all the wonderful, endless activities. The nursing staff goes above and beyond to communicate with me about mothers care, which is very comforting. This was the best choice my siblings and I have made for our mother. We would not want it any other way. Mother loves her new home and new friends. I would most definitely recommend Pheasant Ridge Senior Living to anyone who wants to place their loved one in a facility you can trust!

A Great Place to Live

My mother has been at Pheasant Ridge Senior Living for 3 years. I have always been impressed with the care my mother receives, the social interactions, and the quality of food. Anytime I have any concerns, I can meet with the ED, and they are resolved. They provide a personal touch with all residents, and they make mom happy. She has met great friends and is happy. I looked at other communities before placing my mother at Pheasant Ridge Senior Living. They are the BEST Roanoke has to offer for actually truly caring for your parent.

Staff very helpful when you can get them to answer call lights. Appears often under staffed with times only one aide for over sixty residents. Frequent staff turn over, resulting in poor continuity of care. Mixed community with several needing higher levels of care. Overall some getting a great deal as there is no formal structure in Payment, with marketing getting whatever they can in order to sell a room. The end result being inadequate staffing budget for the level of care given. This just perpetuating low staffing to resident numbers and resulting high turn over. If your loved one can do for themselves a great place, if not look elsewhere.

Doing what's right for Grandmother

I placed my Grandmother there. This was a hard decision for my family because she lived out of town, but needed to be in Roanoke so my mother and I could make sure she was cared for. It took a few days of adjustment being in a new town, new faces. My grandmother adapted quickly and thrived very well. The staff were very friendly, meals were wonderful, and you couldn't ask for more from the activities. It was the right decision placing her at Pheasant a Ridge and it was a blessing to see her happy and well taken care of.

No one could have asked for more. Best decision we made for my grandmother. She continued to thank us for more time on this earth and for the new friends she met at Pheasant Ridge.

it was hard getting the help we needed at first. I feel sorry for the seniors that dont have an advocate.

Nice place, overall

Our experience with Pheasant Ridge was only a brief one, but overall I think it is a very nice place. The facility is clean and well kept, and the staff all seem very friendly. I did have a few issues with slow response times to the call button in the room, however.

A Fabulous Job

They are very knowledgeable. They anticipate your needs and they are very accommodating. I had a wonderful experience there. We were a little worried at first about the outcome, but they have done fabulous job.

Companion and daughter of residents there.

I was a private companion there for the sweetest lady of 95 yrs young that has passed away. Staff did their best to take care of our calls in a timely manner although seemed understaffed of caregivers at times for the overall condition of most of the residents. It meets standards for assisted living as far as ratio of caregivers to residents.
My parents have lived there almost a year and we have to fine tune care for them on a regular basis since my mom has renal failure and dad has memory issues. In the past 6 weeks my dad has progressed by leaps and bounds due to a very dedicated staff. I credit them with helping socialize him and get him back on his feet and walking. After several hospital stays he forgot how to stand and walk but proud to say they have him back up and walking.
I so appreciate all the compassionate staff there and enjoy working there when I have the opportunity.

Taking my mom into a memory care was not an easy thing to do, but it was something that had to be done. When looking at different facilities I found the staff at Pheasant Ridge to be the most knowledgable about the condition that my mom has. They were very helpful in every step of the transiton.

Nice place, overall

Overall I think they have done a good job of taking care of my loved one. The care staff themselves have been great, they are friendly and do their jobs well. I have, however, had some issues with the management. They have been allowing family members that shouldn't legally have a say to make care decisions regarding my loved one, which has caused me a lot of trouble.
The facility itself is nice looking and clean, although the common areas feel a bit cramped.

Comments: Pheasant Rdg. Sr. Liv. Comm.

This facility is above all; have not seen anything to compare or top it. I have worked in this field as well. The backbone of this facility is the easy going, proficient, management. Everyone there is happy they work there, enjoys their position, so the place runs like clock work. The set up is so efficient, a welcoming desk/switchboard opr. at the entrance. And! She knows what she is doing. The meds are given like a fine tuned hospital, which it should be like. You feel they care, and are genuinely responsible med techs with the residents in mind. The dining room is like a nice atmospheric restaurant, with a menu no less. They have travel assistance to and from appointments. This place is top notch, none above it around here. You, as A Place For Mom, are representing excellence. The office is an assortment of the best in their field; they care, they aim to be no less than #1. And they don't have to try, it just comes natural.

Very nice setting... with a feeling o...

Very nice setting... with a feeling of home atmosphere... we will make a call for an assesment for this one as well. Head Nurse was very informative, and will be happy to help with assesment, as well as bringing our Aunt here for a "tour" of her own.
