Customer Reviews

The facility if very nice, pretty. However, the setup of the 2 bedroom unit is not inviting. The layout is horrible and I can't imagine who would find that appealing - it almost looks like it was pieced together as an afterthought.

I love my Apartment

The staff here is so kind and so nice. I absolutely love my apartment they come in on Fridays to clean it for me. The food I have no complaints about it I only eat 2x a day and I'll cook in my apartment. There is a very kind excellent bus driver who is so helpful she'll take me to the store or doctor's appointment. I would recommend this to my friends.

[Removed] provided tour, showing 2 FL plans for 1 bdrm apts. Laundry rm free on ea FL. Costs slightly more than they can afford plus $4000 "activities" cost upfront. Transportation & Dr visits to S. County (not city) and no wheelchair access on bus. Resident-run chair exercises ea a.m. Chapel services & hair salon open a few days/wk. Really liked the community if it would cost less!

Satisfied with the care at this place!!

My mother has recently made the move into this community and so far I am pleased with the experience she is having. She has had no complaints about the meals they provide and is satisfied with the activity program they have available to all of the residents throughout the week. The staff are very good and I am impressed with the attention to detail they have. Overall I am pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

New home for Ms. Carole L Fisher Room 318

I was looking for a couple years to locate a place for ms. Fisher. I selected your company and its the best decision I could have made. The front desk has made it so easy for me to held ms. Fisher in any requests. Ms. Fisher is happier and loves her new home. Plus she loves everyone that helps her daily.

A great job by your company.

Thanks from me and ms. Fisher in room 318

Orchid Terrace, St. Louis County, MO -- Their big selling point is the food. Lunch seems to be their big activity of the day. Lunch is better than most, but hardly "chef inspired". I've eaten a lot of meals there as a visiting friend of one of the residents. I paid for my meals. Breakfast is basically eggs and cereal--no ham, bacon or sausage. No waffles, biscuits, or muffins. They add something to the menu a couple of times a week-- a cinnamon roll or potatoes, for example. But, it's basically eggs and cereal from a box. Supper features soup and an entree. I can't imagine the soup being anything but from a can. The supper selections have changed over the years and seem to feature a lot more egg dishes than in the past--egg salad, quiche, and frittata. The food is "good", but "industry inspired", in my opinion.

Regarding Orchid Terrace...Meal service and quality of meals is not as advertised. It might be better than most, but that might not be saying much. The meal service is s-l-o-w and meals delivered to rooms even slower. If they would hire one more minimum wage worker to serve meals...delivery would improve! Meals delivered to rooms are in styrofoam containers and look as unappetizing as can be. Room service can be an added expense for residents and it's already expensive to live there. This added fee is ridiculous since they have recently decided that room service should be done AFTER dining room service is competed--and, as I said, dining service is SLOW!
They have had two quarantines in three years--one for a nolo virus outbreak which had as many as 65/100 residents ill and another in 2015 for the flu.the 2015 flu only affected about 30/100.

Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Holiday Retirement's Home Office. Thank you for writing a sincere review. Although we can't control viruses and people getting sick, especially during flu season, we can control our food service. I've passed your feedback onto our Resident Relations department. You're welcome to call them as well at [removed].

Thanks again,

Uncle loves it here!

We toured quite a few communities and this is the one my Uncle selected for himself. He's really enjoying it, he's adjusted well and gets along well with the other residents.
They do have a bit of room for improvement when it comes to things like cleanliness, and activities. The main areas such as the dining area and lobby always look very nice, but the hallways could use more attention. The activities were just not on par with other communities we looked at.

This is where we placed my parents. We liked the layout of the rooms at Orchid Terrace better than the other communities that we looked out. The staff is very friendly, especially Julie the event coordinator.

They were also competitive with the other communities we looked at in terms of price.
