Customer Reviews

Caregivers are fantastic....Management, not so much!

My Mother was a resident at this facility for 2-1/2 years. Most of her caregivers were amazing!! We couldn't have asked for more loving and caring people to care for our Mom. Unfortunately, the management leaves much to be desired!!! When Mom passed about a week and a half ago, management seemed like it was an inconvenience to help us to find our Mom's Hospice nurse, who gave us time to say goodbye. Today we went back to thank some of the staff and to drop off something that we had that didn't belong to Mom, and we were told that management said that family members of deceased former residents are not allowed to come back. This was very upsetting, as we became close to other residents and to the wonderful caregivers in the time that Mom was there, and would love to stay in touch, but we are not welcome there anymore, now that Mom has passed! Some of the residents have no family, or visitors and we felt it would be nice to pop in occasionally to just see how everyone is doing. I'm shocked that management forbids this from happening. The management team could learn so much from the caregivers that work so tirelessly every day, making sure the residents are clean, dressed, fed, exercised, etc. When Mom first got there, the management was present and involved, but over the past year or so, that is not the case. Makes us so sad, as we felt so blessed to have gotten Mom into this facility and then to see where it's gone is just a shame.

No money being put into this location

The caregivers were so nice to work with. Our family developed great relationships with them. However, the management is pretty much non-existent. It seems they're so busy building their "mansion" facilities, that this beautiful little cottage setting gets nothing put into it. They haven't had a dedicated nurse there in well over a year. They can't keep new caregivers because they understaff so badly that nobody wants to work there. The day our mother passed away (at the facility), there was a director and a nurse in the office. Neither ever even spoke with us to offer assistance, condolences or anything else. And today we found out that family of deceased residents aren't allowed to come back to visit the caregivers or other residents who we built relationships with!!!! Several residents never get visitors and we would love to continue to visit with them. But apparently, that's not something that the management wants to happen. Such a shame. This small (15 bed) facility is so perfect for dementia patients. If only it was managed better.

Good tour

We toured New Perspective Senior Living Brookfield, Brookfield. The staff was friendly and explained what they could provide for our loved one. We chose another location that was a better fit for our family member.

Not impressed

I really was not impressed with what I saw on my tour here. The staff giving the tour did a nice job, but I did not like the set-up and I felt that my mother would not do well here.

I wanted to like it....

The New Perspective would have been the best choice location wise but when I toured, they were in the middle of remodeling. In their defense, it was probably not the best time for them but they moved everyone to one building while they redid the other, and it was very dirty. Also, the lady that took me around did not even call me with to follow up.

Review of Lighthouse of Brookfield - Brookfield, WI

This was a facility that the gentleman that was supposed to tour me did not show up so again I was shown around this the Facilty by a nurse who very much impressed me!! with her outgoingness and friendliness the facility seemed very dated and maybe not as clean as I personally think it might need to be but a very friendly outgoing facility all the same

Poor care, unclean

When my Dad first moved in, the staff seemed friendly, they had a daily calendar of daily activities, and the the facility seemed clean. Over the year and a half he's been there, the turn over of staff has happened so often, I never knew who to contact. Communication with me was non-existent. They ordered and administered medication without consent or from me (the medical power of attorney), in fact I found out he was on the medication only because I requested a copy of his medication schedule. The last time I went in for a visit, my dad was unshaven (many days worth), badly needed his nails trimmed, was unclean, and I found several cups of fluid in his room, with mold floating in them. I immediately started the process of having him moved to another facility.

Very friendly, calm atmosphere. Staff was very pleasant, accommodating. Facility was clean, well maintained. There were many activities for the residents. All were nicely dressed and seemed happy and engaged in the activities.

Rooms small and some are shared. BR without showers. No division of residents based on abilities. Residents appear well cared for. Facility clean. Many staff present but I might have visited between shifts. Maybe adequate for a person with more advanced dementia but not an early one.
