Customer Reviews

Loved [name removed]...loved the two levels of memory...older community but very clean...just concerned with the overall layout...not crazy about the walkway from the apartments to the dinning area...the flow just seems broken up and could be confusing for my mother in law

It's great here!

Everything has been good. Care is really good and the staff is nice.

Grand Villa

Excellent staff, clean, and well managed. The food is good and [name removed] is the best! Only complaint is the meal cart takes a little long to get to the front building.

Grand Villa

I think the physical layout is nice, not a typical boxy building with apartments. The staff is kind and pleasant. As far as meals are concerned I would like to see more vegetarian options. As well as more orientation for a new reseident. But other than that everything has been great!

Pretty Good Place

I'm very content with everything at Grand Villa. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 9 because the food could be a little better and the could use a pool table. But, the staff is nice and helpful.

Grand Villa of Altamonte

The staff and employees are always friendly and provide great service. I live live in a very spacious one bedroom apartment, and it isn't great. The food could use improvement but I've seen new consultatnts around the building getting that improved and I've noticed a difference. I observe they have been a little light on staff lately, but they are great on willingness to help and friendliness. Generally everything in the community is very clean and nice. Biggest assets overall are definitely the staff, They could probably use a raise!

Great People!

I really like it here at Grand Villa.

Love Grand Villa

Everyone is helpful and nice here at Grand Villa.

Enjoyable Living

My mother really enjoyed living here at Grand Villa in Altamonte. The rooms were a good size for her, the meals were excellent, and the staff very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend.

Facility had dirty rugs and the rooms seemed a little dark and unwelcoming. Residents seemed withdrawn. Dining room was elegant. Location is great.

I loved the Grand Villa's the residence is very fresh and new and the amenities are terrific. Would have loved to have mom stay here.

We were impressed with the overall condition of the facility. The tour guide was very pleasant and informative. This should be a good place for meeting the needs of my sister.

Really Feels Like Home!

Six years ago my wife passed away and I was living in an Assisted Living Community on the West Coast. My daughter lives in the College Park area so I wanted to be closer to her. I started searching and I found Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. I have live here for 5 years. I looked at places that were newer and fancier. What I found at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs were, caring, compassionate and loving staff. Their logo of, Looks Like Home Feels like Family rings true to me. I felt at home and still do. Activities and Food are Great but the most important thing to me was feeling cared for and at home.
Stop by for a visit, and ask Jim.

Loved the complex layout. It reminded me of a tropical resort. The rooms were good sizes with balconies. Very clean and well kept. The staff were really nice.

Helpful Staff!!

I have no complaints about how things are going for my mother since she made the move into this community. The staff have all been wonderful to her and I am comfortable with the care they are providing my mom. They have recently moved her into the memory care unit and we are just trying to get adjusted to larger environment. We are looking forward to getting her out on walks as well using the great onsite pool that they have available.

Ask the right questions before you buy

In the past 6 months they have reduced resident services to cut costs. They have taken away bread, breakfast meat, milk and juice. They have reduced Publix trips to 1 x month.

Good People!!

My dad was only at this community for a short period of time but while he was there everything went okay for him. The property is very clean and well maintained with great amenities available to all of the residents. My dad is just very healthy and likes to walk around and at this place they would not let him out side for liability issues. It was also very overwhelming for him there, they had multiple flights of stairs and over a hundred residents. It was just not the right fit for him there.

Love it

They do a great job at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs! The facility itself is clean and always very well kept. The staff here is friendly and professional, and they do a great job looking out for the residents! The food is very good and the ice cream is better.

Punctuality!

My mom did not have a pleasant welcoming to this community. In a short period of time she fell. The staff are great and they do what they can. It did take them a while to be able to clean my mom's room after the fall.

My Visit To The Community

This seemed like a nice community when I toured it. The staff I met were nice and knowledgable. This community was just a little to far away for us.

Needs some updating!!

I thought the staff was very friendly and did a great job at giving my parents and I a detailed tour of there community. I noticed throughout our visit that everything was a little outdated and all of the furniture seemed to be old. They could use some new amenities and upgrades in the bedrooms. Overall it was a nice visit, just not the right place for my parents.

Not Homelike At All!

During my tour, I didn't really care for this community. The building looked like a motel, and I was not crazy about the care. The staff was friendly and so were the other residents but it just was not what we were looking for at the moment.

Needs Healthier Snacks!!

The snacks that my loved one has been receiving have not been very healthy. The meals could use better variety and better taste for them. I have no problem with the cleanliness through out the community everything seems organized and taken care of. Overall, I feel it's a safe place for my loved one and there is great staff.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am very glad that you chose Grand Villa for your loved one. It is also nice to hear how great the staff is. We are very proud of our employees.

We try to provide a variety of snacks including fresh fruit, peanut butter crackers, cheese as well as nutritionally healthy snacks. We do provide sweets at times too for our resident’s with a sweet tooth. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss what your loved one likes for snacks. We will certainly try to provide what they like. Our meals are planned by a dietician to meet our nutritional requirements. We also have a food committee meeting every month where we encourage our residents to participate and give their feedback on what they like or don’t like. We then incorporate their suggestions into our meal planning. One program that we use is called Tasty Traditions. Our residents provide us with their favorite recipe and we prepare it for all of the residents to try. We encourage you to come by the community and meet with myself or my Dietary Manager. We certainly want your loved one to enjoy their meals.

Thanks for being part of our Grand Villa family.

Mom fit right in!

We are satisfied with the care that mom has received at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. Mom seems to have settled in nicely. The community offers a variety of activities for the residents to participate and enjoy. Mom has put on some weight with the variety of meals that they offer.

I Walked Out

I made an appointment to take a tour. When I got there the receptionist seemed to not fit the part, she looked like a resident. After waiting some time, I asked the receptionist for the the tour and she told me the guide was off that day. I noticed the residents did not seem active and were gathered in a room, they looked as if they were staring at the ceiling. I was awful and a terrible experience. i looks nice from the outside but not attentive staff inside.

We are extremely sorry that your visit with us did not go as planned. We truly value your feed back and we are grateful that you took the time to do so. We at Grand Villa take extreme pride and dedication in meeting the needs of our residents and we offer an extensive social program to meet their needs and the needs of all prospective residents. We invite you to give us a chance to truly showcase our community to you and would love for you to have a return visit to us to observe some of our programs in action.

Review of Grand Villa Of Altamonte Springs-Altamonte Springs, Fl

Excellent facility. Lots of space outside and inside to roam around alone. Very clean and nice staff. The semi private room they offered was $3400 per month and our budget is $3200.

Toured

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was on the older side, but well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

Bad Parking

My husband has been here for about two months now, he complains about the food but, he always does. He is still trying to adjust, he wants to come home but, that has nothing to do with where he is. The only complaint that I have is the parking, however I would guess that they can't do anything about that.

Slowly, But Surely, Home

My brother and I took my parents, who are in their 90's, on tours of various assisted living facilities. Alycia Altman, senior living advisor, was incredible resourceful in not only helping us find places, but also in offering suggestions as to how to help my parents take that big step. She was a wonderful support to our family.
After our first tour of the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs my mother knew that she had found the place for her. Staff was incredibly friendly, the place had a comfortable, homey feel, the residents were very gracious in acknowledging the presence of my folks, even though they were complete strangers and the food was the clincher. We appreciate the fact that the chef is committed to serving low fat, low carb, low sugar meals...perfect for my pre-diabetic father and the layout was easy to navigate.
It was a more difficult decision for my father to move so we put them on a waiting list. When at last they moved in, (about 6 months after their first tour), the process went wonderfully smoothly. They have been there for almost 3 weeks and have nothing but good things to report...from the friendliness and efficiency of housekeeping staff, the quality of the food, the helpfulness of the med techs, the watchful eyes of nursing staff, the diversity of activities, one-one help as needed....and even how the maintenance staff helped make minor adaptations to the lighting to accommodate my father's diminishing eyesight.
Our questions and concerns that we shared about our folks have been treated with respect and appropriately addressed.
Our family is so glad to have found Grand Villa and that it is truly feeling like a good fit for my folks...not exactly home as they knew it...but home enough to feel like this is where they can make new friends and, in time, will be home enough.

Short experience, but a good one!

My loved one was only here a short time, but I thought Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs seemed like a very nice place! The place was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed friendly and caring. My loved one is normally very picky and hard to win over, but after only a few days here she really seemed to have settled in well! Unfortunately a medical emergency required a move after only a short time, but based on our experience I would definitely recommend at least taking a look!

Very Caring Staff

There is nothing that Grand Villa can improve on, they are absolutely wonderful. Every staff member there cares about everyone and it is just like being at home, it is amazing. They really, truly care about the residents.

A great selection for my mother

The Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was a great selection for my mother. They have a warm and friendly staff. They seem to truly care about the residents. I would recommend this community if you are looking for a nice community with kind people. The facility is always really clean. The care services are excellent. They do a great job at taking care of my mother. They offer many activities. The value is pretty good.

Would not recommend this facility. Smelly, old, cracked pavement.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am sorry if you felt our outside pavement areas are old and not up to par, however, I am happy to report that our maintenance staff is already on top of getting our curbs repaired and asphalt resealed and restriped. If we can be of further service to you or your family, please feel free to contact me directly at [removed] ext. 103.

Mixed Results; Mixed Feelings

When my mother first moved to Grand Villa, she was vibrant and independent, needed help with only a few things. Her health has declined to such a point, that she is now wheelchair bound; and, needs help with all activities of daily life. Grand VIlla accommodated her by moving her from the most-independent building, to one providing more assistance; and, eventually memory care (which is a lock-down facility). The people that were there a year ago, Scott, Barnie, and Debbie have been replaced by staff more focused on the bottom line than the residents. Coffee and treats are not available unless doled out; that's just one small sign. We have been overbilled $200 per-month for the past 5 months; and, cannot find anyone to fix it, even though the Executive Director told us the new price. A few of the Home Health Aids and Facilities folk make an extra-effort to care for my mom; and, she loves them deeply. I value very much their efforts; and, look forward to the days when they are scheduled to work.

We are happy to hear that you were generally happy with the services we provide at Grand Villa. I’m proud that our staff is one of the best around, caring for our residents just like we would our own family. I would like to connect with you personally to gain a better understanding of your unhappiness and the issues regarding your monthly bill. I will address any of your concerns immediately to ensure the issues are rectified immediately. Please know my door is always open! In addition, please know that we do still have our coffee cafes available in our Assisted Living and our Memory Care Neighborhood is accommodated with coffee and snacks. Due to the safety for our residents in Memory Care, our Resident Aides assist our residents with coffee and snacks 24 hours a day. You can always help yourself in our Assisted Living with coffee or snacks, or if its more convenient for you, when you are visiting your mother in Memory Care, ask one of our staff members and they can assist you!

Thank you for leaving your feedback! I look forward in hearing from you, my door is always open!

Very nice place!

We've been taking my loved one to Grand Villa occasionally for day services, and I think they do a fantastic job! They're very attentive and look after her very well. They make sure she gets her medicine, and they're proactive about making sure she gets taken to activities and meals. Mom is not normally the sort of person who would be comfortable with the idea of a senior community, but she really likes it here!

Changed our quality of life

I toured many communities and the staff at Grand Villa were so welcoming and incredibly helpful. They respected my mother's budget and her needs. Grand Villa undeniably increased the quality of my mother's life. And because of this it has changed my life too. I know she is happy, safe, entertained and her health is being watched over.

Nice place, overall

Overall I think they do a very nice job at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the staff are all very friendly and pleasant people. They do an excellent job looking after the people who live here! My only concern is that I think they could be trained a little better on how to handle certain Alzheimer's behaviors, they call me quite often asking me to help them resolve situations with my loved one.

Humble exterior, but truly different from many others.

We looked here when we were touring. When you first come to the community, it has a very humble exterior. As you enter the property and interact with the residents, it truly is very different from many other places that we visited.

New Resident Experience at Grand Villa of Altamonte

We toured several facilities before choosing Grand Villa for our loved one. It stood out above others in every way. The staff was understanding and empathetic to family members who had difficulty coming to terms with the monumental decision of placing a loved one in their care. They welcomed our loved one with open arms and made the transition less heartbreaking for all of us. All of the staff have been accommodating and attentive to our loved ones needs and helped to make the transition smooth. The community offers all inclusive care, which makes the cost a good value. The facility is clean, well maintained and in a beautiful setting. The sales staff is friendly, welcoming and fully engaged with the residents and with the family members who visit. The receptionist, Aneyssa is especially friendly and charming. She makes each phone call and visit a pleasant experience. Aneyssa is an asset to the community. I would highly recommend this community to others.

Generally satisfied, nice staff, several minor issues at first

I like mainly that the staff is very nice to my mother. There is enough for her to do.

In the beginning we had a few issues to hurdle over. One of the caretakers was kind of rough with my mother, and we haven't seen her again. At first trying to get her hooked up with her medicine was tricky, but we got that taken care. The shower leaked, and it took a little while but it was fixed.

I think the activities could contain more in the way of creativity.

The food is very good.

The only concern I have is that, it's very clean, they keep it up, but my brother tells me that every time he goes in there's a roach there.

We're generally very satisfied. Except for that one girl, and there is always going to be one, and it was taken care of.

Beautiful place..friendly staff!

I live near this facility and occasionally thought about visiting it to see if the inside was as nice as the outside. When a friend of mine went to visit her aunt I had the chance to see what I'd always been curious about. Take it from me, the inside is just as impressive as the outside! Climate control is important in Florida, and the temperature was perfect throughout. The staff was friendly and directed us to the aunt's residence. I met several residents playing cards next to the swimming pool. Comfort and a family vibe was everywhere, and from what I saw in passing, there isn't a single amenity missing. I have no doubt careful thought and plenty of time was put into making this facility exactly the type of place anyone would like having a senior family member reside at.

Not impressed by the tour

I toured this location when I was looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I just was not too impressed with this one. It had a very nice clean looking entrance area, but once you got into the community itself there was a noticeable odor. Other issues like ease of access and parking for visitors were concerns as well.

Nice place, friendly staff, but some definite room for improvement

They do a decent job overall at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs, but there are definitely a few ways I think they could improve the service. It's a nice looking place, and the staff are all very friendly. However, one area they could stand to improve is to make their information more clear during the move-in process. I was given the impression that the community move-in fee would be applied towards the first months rent, but that ended up not being the case. There is also a big long message you have to listen to every time you call them, which has become somewhat of an annoyance.

Nice place, overall

Overall I'm quite happy with how things have gone at Grand Villa! It's a nice looking, well kept, clean community, and the staff have all been very friendly and helpful. We had a few initial concerns when we moved my loved one in, but they addressed them quickly and to my satisfaction. You do have to stay on top of them when it comes to communication, they won't generally contact you first with updates.

Nice looking place

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. This was a nice enough looking community, but it didn't seem to have the same level of care as some others we looked at. The surrounding area was a bit hilly as well, which would have made it more difficult for my loved one to take the walks that she enjoys.

looks nice, my mother did not see it. I was kind of geared into the memory care unit which might have been appropriate for my mother but more restrictive. she really would want access to the pool

Very Friendly

They are very friendly and they really care about t he people who are living there, the residents. Again the only thing I’d rate less than five is the communication, but I’d give it a four. The food is good!

Very nice, clean residential. Friendly staff. Feels like home. Mrs Colleen, very knowledgeable and helpful!! Great experience.

A Great Place To Be

Grand Villa was a pleasant experience from the "get go". The total staff takes the time to greet you, associate you with your family member and makes every one feel at home. We were well educated on services offered and The Grand Villa met or surpassed those expectations. All financial obligations are discussed. There were no hidden expenses. This facility provides a clean, safe, healthy environment for my Dad. He raves about the food and has nothing but praise for the people who help him. I found the residents caring and welcoming. When I visit I here my Father laughing and joking with staff and residents. That says it all...

The best place for my mom!

The place is amazing! Everyone from staff to residents are very friendly. Lots to do...you make the choice of activities that you'd like to enjoy. Debbie, Miriam & Rosa (staff members) are fantastic! The food is prepared by a chef daily and has lots of variety. Price is great and very reasonable! I would definitely refer them to everyone! Great location, easy to get to also!

Very nice community

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved ones. This one was my particular favorite, although my parents weren't as impressed by it. It's in a great location, off of the main roads but still very conveniently located for shopping and entertainment.
One downside is that the area it is in is fairly hilly which would make getting around more difficult for someone in a wheelchair.

Very nice place

It's been a big adjustment for my parents, but they've been doing a great job here so far. My parents came here from a community that provided a higher level of care, and they are having to learn how to adjust their daily routine to fit with this new style of care. But the staff here are really doing a good job of working with them to help them settle in.
One thing to be aware of with this community is that it was built in an uneven area, and as such there are quite a few inclines and ramps throughout the facility that can make it difficult to navigate for those with movement issues. They're very good about having staff help people move around, but it can still be a bit inconvenient.

We're Very Pleased

Considering the difficulties the staff faces, they do a really good job! Barney is a jewel! He makes every effort, and I couldn't praise him enough. If there are any issues, even a cold, they are quick to respond. I tried the food several times before we decided on them, and it was delicious! My only issue was that there were some issues with my first bill, but we were able to resolve them eventually. They are a little on the pricey side, but overall, we are very pleased with our decision!

My opinion of Grand Villas of Altamonte

Overall, the facility is clean, reliable and friendly. All the staff is personable and looks and speaks to you as you enter. Mom complains about the food one day and raves about it the next. My guest meals have been great. I love their Beef Tips over Noodles. The management and most of the staff greets you (the family member) on a first name basis. One is treated as family. Any calls placed to staff are returned promptly. It took me several visits to several facilities before I chose this one and I visited this facility at least 3 to 4 times before we decided. I am very happy with the placement. Mom has made many friends and she is much happier and safer.

A Great Place for Mom - Grand Villa

I found Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs through [removed] aplaceformom [removed].

On my first visit I was very impressed at how "un-senior center" it appeared. It is more like an apartment complex for seniors, with the added benefit of progressive care for dementia.

The entire staff is HAPPY to be there. Everyone we have encountered has been very helpful, patient, understanding and truly cares about the residents - making them, and their families at home and at ease with the transition process.

They serve the residents 3 delicious meals a day, keep the apartments clean, help the residents with their laundry - AND my mother got to keep her dog!!! (This would have been a deal breaker for us. Mom had to keep her dog.)

I have to say that Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs is the perfect place for mom to spend the rest of her life. She has already made a few friends and has only been there a week!!

Way Too Big

This was the first place that we went to. It was way too big. They had a couple different room sizes, but it was so big that she would have been scared to death. Part of it was that a lot of people were having memory problems and the staff kept having to tell them where to go. The staff was all nice, though. They had about the same activities as everywhere else.

I was referred to Grand Villa by A Place For Mom. Everyone at Grand Villa has been very helpful. I am not crazy about the food I would give it about a 2.5. But I have friends whose loved ones live here as well and I along with them recommend Grand Villa.

Loved the people there, but in general, it was too small of a property for my mom. She's a walker and didn't have anywhere safe to walk. Also, if I remember correctly, you had to eat a specific times and she's a late sleeper and would miss breakfast every morning. We all loved Barney!

Warm & Friendly

This community was just like home!! The staff was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. All of my fears and reservations about moving my loved one into an assisted living community were gone by the end of my tour. The residents were happy and enjoying life in this resort like community. I would recommend Grand Villa to everyone I know.
