Customer Reviews

Residents seems very happy and friendly. Staff was also friendly. Facility was very clean and well lit. Activity calendar includes weekend outings and lots of on-site activities. Smallest room was large and could accommodate a bed and loveseat.

Again another wonderful community has wonderful amenities and meets every need they even have skilled nursing unit.

Excellent Care

Our family has relied on Savannah Court’s care for our mother since 2015.

Over our many visits in that time, we have had ample opportunity to witness first-hand an environment of excellent care consistently extended by a caring and empathetic staff.

With the possible exception of an off-site accounts receivable department which appears to work occasionally and unwittingly at cross purpose with the organization, our experience with both Savannah Court and Savannah Cove has been exemplary, which earns them our highest recommendation.

I visited Savannah Court/Cove. [Removed] was wonderful! She gave me a tour and answered all my questions. I was also given a folder with all the information. Everything I was looking for is there. Clean was big on my list. It was spotless. I just found out my Mom was accepted! Thanks for all your help!

Review of Savannah Court of Maitland - Maitland, FL

The majority of the “team” here seem to care about the patient’s court side well-staffed, cove side – not too sure about. Have seen techs standing and when patients need care. Just my opinion.[Removed] are awesome and others I don’t know their names.
Big, Big complaint is your parking!!!
Needs to be addressed!!!
Thanks

Thank you for your review-
Sorry about the parking if only we could expand the lot-

[Removed] was very attentive to our unique situation regarding a potential need for short term nursing care and a longer term assisted living situation. The smaller environment, on-site skilled nursing/rehab, and lake views/courtyard were a plus. Very helpful

Good Tour Of This Community

I had a nice tour of this community. Everyone was kind to my family, and I. The staff was kind, and helpful. My questions were answered. From what I saw the community appeared to be well-kept. The experience went well, but I did find another community that met our needs better overall.

Thanks much for your positive review your experience. Wishing you and your loved one the very best!

So far everything has been awesome. The business office, [Removed], set everything up and every promise he made has been fulfilled; when I moved [Removed] in the staff could not have been more helpful. You should be proud of this staff.

A good choice for mom

We picked Savanah Court for my mom based on a number of factors. First was value, second was Location and facilities.
As it turns out this was a good decision. So far everything has been going well. We've been impressed with the overall care Mom has gotten. She likes her apartment and we like the management of her medications and therapy.
After all she has been through, multiple hospital and rehab stays in the past few ,months we feel she is finally thriving.
One thing mom really enjoys are the meals. The choices and preparation are great and she is finally eating well, and enjoying it, on a regular basis.

Thank you so much for expressing your positive experience that you and your mother have had. We truly appreciate it! I've eaten many times at the community- yum yum!

Our experience here has been great. My mother feels right at home. She is visited by a staff member at least 47 per day, she goes to the dining room 3x per day plus enjoys many activities. This is so much better than living alone in her own home and I rest so much better knowing she is well cared for.

We are very pleased with the care our mother receives at this community. She is happy, active, looked after, making friends, and feeling special. What a turn-around from her past couple of years. We are so happy to see her enjoying life. Everyone has been so wonderful.

Over all a very clean and friendly facility. My mother is very well take care of. New employees have sometimes not been trained in handling a very delicate resident in assisted living. Food is mostly very good and nutritious.

This facility is run by some very friendly people. Many who have worked there for a long time and that gives me comfort. My mother has lived there for a year and is doing well.

My mom has thrived at the Savannah Court. While her move from independent living to an assisted living facility was a hard one for my mom, she is very, very happy at the Savannah Court. She loves her room which is both light-filled and spacious. She has made some good friends with other ladies. While I visit my mom frequently (and as a result have gotten to know most of the staff who are very friendly and helpful), I also draw great comfort in the knowledge that someone is always watching her to ensure she is taking her meds and is able to monitor any impending health issues that might be arising.

If Momma is happy, We are happy!!!

If you are looking for a Community to move your loved one into, STOP!!!! Don't go anywhere else!!! This is the place that you will be very happy with and your loved one will too. Isn't that what is important??!!

My Momma is so very happy and content her. We looked at three places, including this one, and we turned right around and came back here to move Momma in. She has so many new friends now and every time we go to visit, she is never in her apartment. She is either in the game room or in another resident's apartment talking. I am so glad that she will never be alone anymore.

The employees are gracious and are so very caring and attentive to all the residents. We visit Momma quite often and we see this with our own eyes. When I am not with Momma, I know that she is getting the love and attention that she would if she were with me.

The carpet, rooms and yards are all very cleaned and well maintained. So, if you are worried, no need to worry anymore because you came to the right place - Savannah Court of Maitland!!!

My family loves this place!

This is the best place for my Dad. He loves the food and Chef [Removed]. [Removed] in activities has convinced him to participate in activities and that amazes me. If you haven't visited here, ignore the bad reviews and visit so you can see for yourself!

We toured this community when looking for my mother and I wouldn't put my mother here. The environment is institutional. They offer skilled nursing and rehabilitation so there are people in casts and wheelchairs and it's very depressing. I also didn't like that they had residents with so many levels of care needs. They stick all the residents in one area and it's not welcoming The size of the rooms are very small, they are like studios and they market them like full sized apartments.

Stephen Liebscher

Thank you for visiting us. I am sorry you did not feel we were a fit for your loved one. We do have a licensed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation unit right in the community, and during activities and events we do invite all residents (Assisted Living and Rehab) to come together and mingle with one another. I am sure you may have seen some residents in casts and wheelchairs during your visit. We offer so much at our community and view everyone as family. All of us realize some may need help and other don't. Also most find our apartments quite adequate in size.
Good luck on your search.

Not The Right Fit For The Future

We had a tour of the community and all went good until we spoke about the programs for medicaid. They were not able to purse help after that. There was no sense continuing with them. It was not going to work out for us.

Stephen Liebscher

Local Representative

Thank you for visiting us. However, Savannah Court of Maitland does accept the Assisted Living Medicaid program after one year of private pay residency, should a resident's funds run out.

Happy son

My dad is thriving here! He even has a girlfriend! I could not be happier. I feel good that he is safe and taken care of and he loves his room. We decorated just like his house in South Florida. We take him out to dinner and bring him over to my house to spend time with my children. The staff is really friendly and supportive. When I ask a question or need understanding about my dads care they help in great detail. There is one there that is funny and makes me laugh every time. It also always smells good which is important. I also like to pop in on my lunch and eat with dad. The food is great and really creative I have to say... When I tell my wife how good the cooking is she tell me I should move in!

Happy mom!!

My mother is happy and that is what matters most. She enjoys the staff and feels comfortable in her apartment. Her most recent comment to me, "I love it here". Highly recommended by this son.

Fun fun fun

I have visited this community for a few years. This is the place for your loved one. I keep coming to events they have. What is nice is the same people have worked there for so long. Mark in the salon has been there for over 20 years as well as some really nice servers in the restaurant. Steve and Carol (who have been there for over 5 years!) always invite me to events, they have some fun ones. The place isn't the newest, but it is well maintained and clean. Everyone is happy too. I am looking for the future and have inquired early, I am a planner. I feel like family and I don't even live there. Some of the caregivers remember me and call me by name when they see me at one of the events. The food is fabulous too! I have been to lunch twice! I tell everyone at my church and book club to visit Savannah Court of Maitland for their loved one. Some day this will be my home too.

Best choice.

I moved my mom into this community a few months ago. It really was a struggle for me. I had started to become her caregiver. I was ending up going to her home every day helping with her medicines, cooking, cleaning... I thought I was retired!!! Through some friends we heard about Savannah Court of Maitland and booked a tour. I wasn't sure how to go about all this with my mom. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. They walked me through the process. I was most surprised how happy all the residents were. I met several and that brought me peace of mind. I even met another family member who raved about the place. It was just a more active friendly feeling community than the five others I've visited. Also the longevity of the staff impressed me, almost everyone has been there for years!
Long story short my mom's life has changed. She has made friends, she is happy, and I have peace of mind she is taken care of. As they told me, I get to be the daughter again. And that was so right. Believe me, this IS THE PLACE for your loved one. Just go see for yourself.

A REALLY Nice Place

I toured Savannah Court recently in anticipation of my father needing such a place in the near future. I was immediately impressed with the warmth when I entered. Many of the residents were in the main living room singing and thoroughly enjoying themselves. I also had the opportunity to meet several of the employees and they all seemed very friendly, caring and genuinely interested in the residents. My tour was very thorough and I observed how clean the place was. The pricing seemed a little more in line with our budget compared to some of the other assisted living places I visited. Upon leaving, the residents had just started eating lunch and it the food looked very good! I think we found the right place for my Dad!

Should've done it sooner!

In 2012, sadly, my husband passed. I then had to take care of the home by myself (boy, did I miss his cooking). However, when it came time to start replacing parts of the house (the AC, the roof, etc.), I decided my life had to change. In 2015 my cousin and I started our research on Assisted Living Facilities; we researched everything in the Orlando area, and realized we needed to narrow our results to 3. Meantime, I became ill and the move became more necessary so I relied on my cousin to visit the communities.

When she visited Savannah Court of Maitland she was impressed by the facility and the friendliness of not only the staff, but the residents. Also one of my criteria was to find a place in which I could remain for the rest of my life. My peace of mind was satisfied by the fact that Savannah Cove Skilled Nursing and Rehab was in the same building. The decision was made!

Even my first day at Savannah Court was a pleasure as I was called by first name immediately leading to my feeling of being a member of a new family. No more cooking, doing dishes, washing clothes, cleaning up; just living life and having fun - activities, entertainment, transportation, shopping, and refreshments galore.

My new family and home are now the best decision of my life. I should have done it sooner!

We love having you live with us Natalie!

BOTTOM OF THE BARREL

WARNiNG!! Do not place someone you love in this facility. I would give this review a negative star rating if it were an option.

The first incident was when my dad started having dizzy spells. They said they needed to change his blood pressure medication. Shortly after that I discovered that they were giving in 4X the prescribed heart medication.

They continued filling prescriptions through their pharmacy (at our expense) even after being instructed not to do so unless it was an emergency.

They assured me over and over that they could handle Alzheimer's patients. Now just 6 months after my father moved into the facility, and paid a $2,500 move in nonrefundable fee they basically threw him out because of a change in his behavior and were unwilling to compromise or work with us and refused to give us a 45 day notice. They insisted that my father have a sitter for 24 hours per day at our expense and said they did not have this ability, which was a lie. The only other option they offered was to send him to their sister facility which was a wonderful solution for their benefit but was not a viable option for our family.

Their only concern is their bottom line and they could CARE LESS how their actions affect the patient/tenant or their families.

They gave 3 separate stories...first said that my dad tried to exit and became aggressive, then said that he pushed someone, then changed it again and put in his file that he punched a nurse. My father has never displayed this type of physical aggression which at least 2 nurses at the facility confirmed. They never tested him for a UTI which could explain his change in behavior. They tried to reach the family in the middle of the night and after unsuccesful attempts they called the police on my dad and showed up on my doorstep at 2 am trying to "place my dad". I never heard them at the door, so they shipped him to the hospital for "evaluation"

The hospital has still not confirmed that they performed a UTI test or provided us with any results.

This place is the bottom of the barrel and the director, Greg [removed] is downright evil to orchestrate this plan to oust an 87 year old Veteran and Alzheimer's patient.

This is the most unprofessional operation I have ever seen.

Friendly, welcoming community

Our experience with Savannah Court has been a very good one, overall! The facility is clean and well kept (although occasionally there will be odors), and the staff all seem very attentive and caring. I like that they'll check on residents if they don't make it down for a meal. The dining service itself does a good job, as well! The food is good, and they're very flexible with the menu. Mom really seems to have settled in well, and the other residents have been very friendly and welcoming!

Dad has been there just over a year. We have had a few issues with billing but they got resolved. Nurses are very caring. food and activities are well managed. we like the smaller size number of residents. I would not recommend the Cover rehab side. we had several issues when dad had to go there after his hospital stay. we chose another facility for the second hospitalization he had last year as we would not use the rehab side again after our first stay there. You have to keep on top of everything to make sure they are taking proper care of meds, cleaning, etc but we believe that is true of every facility. Overall it has been a good experience.

My grateful experience

I am very grateful with the staff of this facility. My mother was recently at this Facility to do rehab on the Nursing Home side. I have to honestly say that I was very impressed and grateful with the staff helping my family and watching my mother in this difficult time. I was very concerned and scared when I found out that my mother was going to need rehab. I have often heard about the many horror stories about Healthcare facilities in general and of course, I wanted to do the best I can to in turn provide for the woman that raised me my whole life giving her the best and making sure she knew it. Well I think, thanks to Savannah Court of Maitland's staff I can rest easy in knowing that I did just that. Everyone at the facility from the nurses, CNAs to the activity staff, Therapy and even the Higher ups helped put me at ease, by taking such great care of my mother and attending to her needs making sure she felt safe, comfortable and apart of a family. All the staff for every single day I went whatever time of day I went had a smile on there face like they really enjoyed and loved there jobs. My mother truly had a wonderful time there she enjoyed the friendly and hardworking staff, the fun activities and the amount of respect she was treated with. In closing I have to say that the managers in charge are all doing a great job in the running of this facility. They were there for me every step of the way supporting me, encouraging me, keeping me informed and working with me to help my mother have the best experience possible and getting her better. I am very grateful for the people working in this facility and from the bottom of my heart I thank you.

We Have Been Pleased

Our experience has been good so far. The staff is friendly and there is easy access to my loved one. The activities are really nice, the schedule is on the board so everyone know what's going on. The nurses are on top of getting the medications to the residents on time and things like that. We have been pleased.

This facility was great! Stephen was absolutely amazing, just made you feel so at home!

Disappointed Family

A family member was a resident of over 4 years. We were very disappoint to find that they were charged $500 to replace carpet (we do not recall ever getting new carpet). Management said they can charge according to the contract and did.

Would not recommend

Smelly facility. Staff not good. Would not recommend.

I am sorry you had a bad experience- Perhaps this was meant for another community. As you can see from many other glowing reviews most families are more than satisfied. Best regards.

Very helpful and informative staff!

Things have gone very well with Savannah Court so far. They were very helpful and informative right from the start. Steven, who helped us through the whole process, had the answers for any questions we had, and was very up front about what they could and could no provide in comparison to other options in the area. The level of professionalism shown made me feel confident they could do a great job looking out for my loved one, and so far they've done a great job.

Terribly Disappointed

Please note – this might not be your experience – each potential resident/family is distinctly different. I can only speak for my Mom and myself - all true.
Good Things: Med Techs are kind and patient; maintenance is responsive and friendly; facility is small; activities are well-attended/enjoyed by most residents (Mom was unable to participate in anything except Walmart outings due to her condition); and, most of the receptionists were polite, kind, concerned, and helpful – especially those who worked in the evenings.
My 80-yr old Mom (global aphasic from stroke) lived at the Court ALF for about a year, and was a patient at the Cove from time-to-time during that same period. I will say the Med Techs are wonderful. They worked hard to understand my Mom, were patient with her, and learned to capably and sweetly care for her.
That said, Mom expresses that she gives them "tips"...I wondered where her cash was going. Mom wants to tip certain folks because she likes how they treat her. Taking the bad with the good there - they became so good to and with Mom.
When Mom changed her POA and med surrogacy, the staff at Savannah Court and Cove had a NASTY lot of trouble accepting her desires, and leaving others out of the specific assistance and info stream (I mean they spoke with the previous POA, discussing and reporting what I said and was doing), which really fed the family discord. Unexpected, sad, and terribly difficult. Admittedly some folks in management signed her Med Surrogacy as witnesses when they weren’t supposed to (and they were so kind to me, and concerned for Mom) – but I wasn’t informed of that until I’d spent a week or more receiving rude and dismissive treatment and tried to discuss it with the executive director. He told me then. I took immediate steps to provide a properly witnessed document.
Mom had a fall. A few days after, her heart rate dropped to 30bpm (that's what it was when I got her to the emergency room). It's likely that's why she fell earlier. Her aphasia makes it difficult to discern the reason for the fall, especially a few days after. I did not know she had fallen until the evening she had a dizzy-spell. That's when she decided to change her POA and Med Surrogacy. She subsequently had a pacemaker "installed", and was sent to the Cove (a co-located 24-hour nursing/rehab) to spend a little rehab time. There was again the difficulty, in spite of the paperwork that was properly witnessed this time.
They tried to put her in a room that smelled so badly of old urine (the room, not the other resident, not the bathroom (totally))...it was tough to take a full breath in there. It was the entire room, carpet, bedding...I had to listen to staff members tell me they didn't smell anything before I got them to put her in a different room.
In the facility was an advanced Alzheimer's patient. Tell you how I know that - in the middle of the night he wandered out of his room (apparently totally unobserved in this 24-hour nursing/rehab), down the hall, past the nurses' station, down the next hall, into my Mom's room, sat on her bed, and [removed]...for awhile...because sometimes people yell and scream in nursing homes but no none comes to see what's up because they are very used to people yelling and screaming. It seems no one was around to see him or redirect him.
I did not receive a call that night...when I called the next morning to see how Mom was doing I was told, "She's fine, now, but she had a rough night." "Why?" I asked. "One of our male patients went into her room and sat on her bed in the middle of the night. She's calmed down, now." I left work and went up there. She was in pain (probably from having her pacemaker site "massaged" in the middle of the night), upset, and let me know – complete with gestures and crying – what had happened. When I was told by the staff that it had been a male Alzheimer's patient, I asked the obvious questions - Did they have a lock-down area for patients who wander; Did they have one-on-one monitoring; Did they have a "sitter" for this gentleman? I was told they did NOT have lockdown area, and the family could not afford one-on-one monitoring, or a sitter. This tells me they accepted him as a patient even though they were fully aware of his condition and propensity for wandering.
This is definitely NOT the fault of the family or this gentleman, but rather the fault of his doctor and this facility. I have experience with marketing and nursing “professionals” assessing potential patients and urging placement of some they are neither capable of, nor licensed to tend to specific needs. Seemingly all about the money when that occurs.
While there I found cockroaches in Mom's dresser drawer, someone had spilled or deposited what was apparently a LOT of urine on the carpeting in her room (big, wet, smelly area from mid-room into the hallway...on which a small fan was blowing), and I had to argue EXTENSIVELY with SEVERAL DIFFERENT kitchen and nursing staff members to get Mom's diet back to where it was when she first arrived. Pureed was what was ordered, and marked on her paper at the table (would’ve been fine), but the kitchen and some of the nursing staff VERY RUDELY and DISMISSIVELY insisted it had been changed to regular...by whom they could not clearly say. I finally got the charge nurse to make it pureed again.
I took my Mom to the cardiologist that day...and asked him if it would be okay for her to go back to the ALF side...he approved it and we moved. I could say more...I just pray this place is checked from top to bottom, inside-out, and sideways both ways, on all areas of operation... UNANNOUNCED...to include how they relate to family (they should focus on the residents/patients, and remain objective and more formal/ professional /slightly aloof all business, albeit cordial, when presented with emotional issues and family discord), how they address medication administering and record-keeping, how they communicate internally amongst staff, and externally with family, how they address errors/potential errors.

Job Well Done

My 75 year old mother and I couldn't have been more pleased with her recent second stay and the first stay. Incredible nurses that care for their patients. Thanks so much Savannah!!

Review of Savannah Court Assisted Living in Maitland, FL

Very friendly and good entertainment. Necessary repairs done quickly.

See it, what a nice place!

When looking for a place for my mother, I read a review about urine smell, so I was turned off. But when I talked to the representative from Savannah Court he wouldn't let me go so easily. So I toured the place and just loved it, I did smell urine but it was from the laundry baskets not the residents. They worked very hard to get my mother into the skilled side so she could get stronger and now she is in her own apartment. My mother went from a person that couldn't stand up without total help to now she can transfer by herself in just two weeks. The staff was very attentive and made sure Mom was included in everything and all her physical needs were met. The meals were good and she always ate with someone in the dining room and not in her room. The call bells were answered in a very timely manner and always with a smile and a warm greeting. They treated me with the utmost respect when making my decision I know they will treat my Mom with the same kind of respect! I am so happy to have found Savannah Court!

So far, so good

Mom hasn't moved in yet, her official move-in date is the 29th, but she is excited and pumped about having her own space and the staff that took her around the facility couldn't have been more positive and enervating. Steve was so kind; bought her flowers and a quilting book because I told him that was her passion. Annie is dynamic and caring and obviously committed to providing the best experience she can for the residents. I'm excited about the potential and looking forward to many happy years here for my mom. Her take: She told me tonight that she had "only two more days to put up with me" ;) How funny is that!

Nice looking place, a lot of options for care

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. We saw quite a few options when we were touring, but I think this would have been our 2nd choice! It was a very nice looking community, and we liked that were able to provide the full range of care, from assisted living up to skilled nursing.

We crossed this place off our list

We toured this place looking for a place for mom. The nursing staff including Director are all LPN's, NO registered Nurses whatsoever. The aides did not seem that knowledgeable either. I saw one aide outside smoking. Very unprofessional in my opinion, AND not healthy either. The elevators STINK, and have the smell of dirty diapers, as do some of the resident rooms as we walked by on an unannounced visit. There is NOT good security either, we walked right by the front desk without anyone asking a thing as we walked through the assisted living side to the rehab side. This place is crossed off our list...yuck!

Simply "ok"

My loved one has only been here a short time, but so far I have not been impressed. Nothing has been bad, but it is definitely not my favorite. I'm hoping things improve as my loved one settles in.

Very satisfied

My mother has been a resident of Savannah Court for 2 1/2 years. Very satisfied.

I have recommended this facility to several people looking for a place for their parents.

I want to recognize the outstanding nursing staff and especially the marketing staff, Stephen and Carol.

Good activities

The activities are excellent. It’s a good community. My only complaint is that there is no communication with me. All of the effort is on the families if they want to get information. My loved one seems to like the food.

Very Happy!

Our loved one moved into Savannah Courts a couple of months ago. We are very pleased with all the staff from marketing to activities to nursing/therapy and dining. They have all been very helpful with this big transition in our lives. Our loved one has benefited from the socialization and the care they provide. We are very happy and satisfied with Savannah Courts. I highly recommend you to check out this family friendly assisted living home.

A Must See Community A+

Savannah Court of Maitland is outstanding! The residents are engaged, the staff are caring and the amenities are excellent. Of all the assisted living communities in the area this is the one that you walk into and become instant family. Working in the industry and being in and out of numerous communities daily I can always count of their residents to be happy and smiling, which speaks volumes. From the front desk to healthcare staff, everyone that works here is not only friendly but committed to making everyone feel welcome . If anyone says differently its probably a competitor and I suggest you visit the community see for yourself.

It was all good

When I toured Savannah Court, the residents were happy. I was there at lunch and asked how the food tasted. Everyone I asked was enjoying their lunch. After lunch there were activities. Almost everyone participated and laughed. It was wonderful to see.

Savannah Court is a great place for seniors

A very good friend of mine, Victor Cintron, moved to Savannah Court earlier this year. I helped he and his son find the right place where he would get the best care and still be affordable. After considering several other locations we knew Savannah Court was the place for him.

Since he moved in he is so much happier and has made lots of friends. The staff love him as well as the other residence.

Our sincere thanks to Carol and Steve for arranging everything to get him in. They were wonderful to work with.

Full of activity

As a professuonal opinion, This is a family oriented facility with a friendly staff. Everytime I go there, there is some sort of activity....whether it be worship, bingo, snack time or a luau. Much thought goes into providing activities and social time for the residents and full accomodations for them, as most are in wheelchairs. There seems to be sincere sense of love shared with the residents by the staff.

Stay away from this place

My loved one was a resident here. The sales and nursing staff are all smiles and full of promises before you sign a contract to have your family member placed there. Then things go down the drain. The nursing director, her nursing staff and med techs are not very good at what they do. They definitely need additional training, as well as staffing. There were times when my family member would push his pendant for someone to come to his room, only to have response time for staff to come take over 20 minutes for assistance. There has also been times when I have smelled strong urine and poop smells coming from residents ithat are in wheelchairs. Keep your loved one out of this place.

Steve was awesome!

Steve was awesome! Between Savannah Court and A Place For Mom, they really made this happen for us. The food is good, and one of the important factors is they have Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, that was a plus for us. It made the transition seamless. I have had nothing but good feedback from them, they are good at keeping up with the communication. One of the things that swayed the decision, was that they were able to outsource some of the other things for us, like they provided us a company that was able to move her from one place to the other. We are out of state so that was important. They had a nurse practitioner come out and assess her too, to make sure this would be a good fit for her.

happy place

Of all the places aI toured in central Florida, this was the friendliest. The staff was more than helpful. The resident of all abilities are happy and talkative...greeting each other as they pass in the hallway. Helping each other when they see the need. One big happy family.

Thank you for review and feedback. We are honored to serve your loved and your family.

Our first impressions

My family and I have been looking for an Assisted Living facility to placed our elderly mother. We had visited several facilities in the Central Florida area including Savanna Court in Maitland for several months. My husband and I have been visiting a friend who is a resident in your facility for nearly a year. While in your facility we were able to observed that accommodations there were very impressive. The rooms were spacious, and furnished with a full bathroom and shower, microwave oven and small refrigerator. Your dining room was very elegant and well staffed with friendly and efficient servers. We brought in our mother for a visit and we had the opportunity to eat lunch at your facility. We found that the food was well prepared and delicious. We were advised that the menu is changed daily. We chose your facility for our mom. My mother has been a resident there now for approximately 6 weeks. This is the first time she has lived outside her home and we were concerned that she would not be satisfied living there. Mom is very happy and she is really enjoying her room, the food and the many activities available there for her. Your staff conduct themselves in a very courteous, friendly and professional manner at all times. The facility is well maintained and managed. My Mom and I are delighted with your services in general. If, I may, we would like to suggest or recommend that additional Spanish speaking personnel be hired at your facility. Again, thank you kindly for your assistant and providing excellent care for my mom.

This was my favorite. It has skilled nursing-if she has surgery and she can stay with her same friends. It had good service, activities & cleanliness and the best price. It's #1 on my list so far.

HUGE!

My biggest beef was that it was HUGE! It's like a [removed] army barracks there, when you look at from the street you think its cozy but its a massive building, it keeps going and going. The rooms were beautiful, but I knew that mother wouldn't like it because of massive size of place. There were obviously a lot of people that live there, though, so to each his own.

Tiny Rooms

Really nice, but the only room that they had available was not going to be a good situation. It was really tiny room, and her roommate would have been only in her 40's and had had a stroke and couldn't talk clearly. My mom is hard of hearing so they wouldn't have been able to communicate at all. The worst thing was that the bed was so close to the closet that she couldn't have gotten between them with her walker. It's a pretty place with nice people. They gave us a Boston creme pie when we toured!

Medical assistants seem to take the path of least reistance

The care is questionable, the problem is that not being there and having a mother that's going through early to mid-stages of dementia, it's hard to tell what she says is true or what they say because I'm just not there. I see evidence of some of the things she's complaining about being true and the fact that the medical assistance take the easiest course of action because they can't force the resident to do anything but they're letting a 90 year old with dementia tell them what to do. I had the director of nursing in there and they're trained professionals and they have to have a certain makeup about them to do what they do, they know the right things to say and it certainly seems like they care, but then other times I don't see anything getting done.
If I had one thing to address, instead of me calling or going in and complaining when I should be spending time with my mother, I think they should have some sort of 6 month review, or sooner than 6 months, to ask me how things are going. When you're there and there's something wrong, you're not really in the right frame of mind to be positive about the criticism you're giving.

Really loved it but the available room would not be easy enough for Mom to move around in with her walker.
