Unhappy Mom

My mom had moved in to this location. My mom became ill and the community would not accept her here until she was better. The director was not helpful and we had concerns on how my mom was treated. We moved her to another location. The staff did not seem attentive to others and they were not friendly. I would not recommend this community to others.

The true feel of a home in a beautiful and safe setting

George and the entire [Removed] were absolutely fantastic with my dad in the year that he lived in their home. Living there really feels like being part of George's family. From the way my dad had an opportunity to eat fantastic meals at their huge dinner table with all of the other residents to the way George individualized my dad's days with projects and outings, my dad's experience could not have been better.

The [Removed] home is truly a villa (like you'd see in the Mediterranean) which sits up on hill that provides natural security for its residents. There is a well-gated swimming pool, a beautiful rose garden, and a huge shaded patio that keeps residents and their visitors cool even on the hottest of Sacramento summer days. All of these together provide more than enough space and activities to keep residents and their visitors busy.

The care is top notch. My dad put on 10 pounds from all of Maria's fantastic cooking, and his friends who visited him only ever commented on how great he looked. The home feels like a home, and the [Removed] family (who run everything) make you feel like part of their family.

We're sad to be saying good-bye to them, but we wanted to move my dad to be closer to his own grandchildren up in Oregon. I hope my dad's experience here in our town will be even close to as good as it was with the [Removed].

Review of Fair Oaks Villa Home Care - Fair Oaks, CA

They did not have enough staff right now and didnt want to take on a resident that would require the care my mother should receive currently. George was very helpful and nice though

Very nice place!

Our experience with Fair Oaks Villa Home Care has been a good one, so far! My loved one can be a bit difficult to handle, but the caregivers here have been nothing but caring, patient, and professional. It's a small facility, with a homelike atmosphere. I really appreciate the effort they put into keeping things clean, his room is always very clean, well lit, and nice smelling! It's just a very nice place overall!

good experience, though short

My aunt was only there at Fair Oaks Villa Home Care for a few hours but during that short time we were impressed with what we saw. It was a very nice clean facility, very homelike, and the staff was all extremely nice and helpful.

My father lived here for almost three years. He had Alzheimer's. He recently passed away. I recommend Fair Oaks Villa Home Care without reservation. George, Maria, and Daniel are some of the most patient, kind people I've ever met. The surroundings are gorgeous, Maria's meals are delicious, and my father became part of their family.

When I brought him to FOVHC from a different facility--he was on so many meds to control his paranoia and outbursts. He was practically comatose. George assured me that they would create a space for my dad where all the meds were not necessary. Within a couple months my dad (who had lost a huge amount of weight) was content and had gained at least 20 lbs. When I visited him in warm weather--I would find him outside with George, rocking in the chair and enjoying his favorite music.

I will be forever grateful for the loving care they gave my dad in his final years.

Perfect for my mother

This was the perfect place for my mother. George and Maria are so special and caring. My mother was a very picky eater and Maria made her anything she wanted. She even asked if I wanted to send in some of my mother’s favorite recipes. They were so supportive and helpful during the last months of my mother’s life. I don’t know what I would have done without them. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for consistent caregivers that really take the time to get to know your loved one.

Good Up Until The End

It was a good place, a small care facility and I would say my father-in-law was there for about a year and a half. The care was very good up until the end. They were saying that they would be able to care for him until he died. Unfortunately, they were not equipped to dispense drugs because they didn't have the licensed people and they were not able to care for him anymore. They kind of left us in a lurch. We were scrambling to find another home and we ended up finding one but it was stressful. This place was very good for most of the time but at the end, it was unfortunate, they became very insensitive to our situation. The way they dealt with it was not at sensitive as it should have been.

Part of the Family!

We’re really happy with him being there. The family treats him like family. It’s just really nice. We're really happy with it. George and Maria are fabulous people. They’re very kind, they’re ever caring. They treat our father-in-law like he's their own.

Sometimes there’s a little bit of language issue because they’re Romanian. It’s not a problem but you have to kind of work with it. Not so much w/ George, the owner, but his wife. The staff is all family so it’s not people coming in and out of the place. It’s all the family that lives there takes care of your elderly person so there’s no confusion. My father-in-law has dementia and he’s not confused about whose working today. It's a fabulous thing and I really appreciate it!

George can speak Spanish which is great because my father-in-law is Mexican. They have a beautiful home - huge! There's a big back yard and a pool, that's all gated of course. It's very European and beautiful.

Spacious home, but never saw any residents and caretakers could not answer some pertinent questions that were very specific to level of care issues.

Great for My Mother

It's a husband and wife and they're always friendly and happy to see me. It's kind of a lot of very old people. My mother sleeps 18 - 20 hours a day so she's not up for a lot. Watching tv is probably all she's capable of. The other residents are kind of the same way. There's a lot of talking to them when they're awake and personal interaction. I think the acitivty level is appropriate for the residents. My mother is European and the feel of the place is European. There are high ceilings and gardens. She has a very nice, private room and a great view which she appreciates. There is good food - my mother has gained weight since she's been there. My mother is French and these people are Romanian so they have the same old school values.

This was a very nice home but the rooms were VERY small and we did not feel it a good fit for mom. Better suited to males. George and his wife were very nice folks.
