It is a beautiful place to live. Am enjoying meeting new people.
We have been in the independent apartments at Westminster Towers Orlando for 3 months and love it.
The staff have the attitude that they are there to pamper the residents and they do.
There are several meal plans to choose from. We have one meal daily and the food is delicious. The wait staff is so tuned to us that our usual drinks are brought to us without having to order them.
There are too many activities for one person to do, so we have many choices. There are physical, mental, and entertainment choices every day.
The other residents are so welcoming and friendly. I feel I have 50 new friends with more to make as I get to know them better! There is a variety of ages in the independent living, ranging from mid 60's to 100+.
I can't say enough positive things about our new home.
A very nice property, concern about large buy in, no dishwasher in apartments. Very beautiful property, well-maintained. Residents are on par with Mom. 10% discount for military.
Never Judghe a Book by It's Cover.
I would not send my worst enemy here. They specialize in marketing baloney to innocent seniors. Everything else is a sham. Believe almost nothing that they tell you. Basically this is a place for memory impaired, brain damaged and orthopedic challenged individuals. Many activities are cancelled and the rest are geared to a ten year olds
Staff are basically nice but untrained and unqualified. Many do not read, write or understand English.
I have been here 3 months. My doctors are horrified that I chose this place for "assisted" living. There is no "assist" offered at all. I am forced to pass, chart and order my own Rx medicines. There is no assistance with diabetic injections or oxygen. The premises are surrounded by a homeless camp and it is unsafe to ambulate outdoors. Food is good but too rich and not healthy. [Removed]. I have filed several complaints with top administrators and politely told "take it or leave it"

Westminster Towers is a wonderful home for my mom
Mom loves living at Westminster! It took me two years -and a scary fall - to convince her to consider and agree to move into an Independent Living Facility. I know this is long, but it is an honest assessment of the place mom know calls "her home".
The activities and opportunities to make new friends are many. Most importantly, the staff is loving, cheerful and extremely skilled. They have created an environment where the body and the mind are cared for. Mom enjoys many group activities which are designed to keep her mind sharp, and the social interaction events necessary for good emotional health. She has made many new friends and I am amazed at how quickly she felt at home there.
The Fitness calendar is varied with many choices of activities from Tai Chi, to Wii Bowling to Water Fitness classes. Most surprisingly, mom has resumed many activities - knitting, crochet, ceramics/pottery, and sewing - that she hadn't done in 20 years!
Lastly, while on her own, cooking was a chore for her and she had stopped preparing high quality meals opting instead for frozen or low nutrition choices. At Westminster, they have wonderful menu options and I don't have to worry about whether she is eating well.
Lastly, during a recent health emergency, the very fast response and action by the nursing staff made all the difference. Had mom been at her old home, she would not have called for help and would likely not have survived.

Westminster Canterbury is a rental community for low-income adults and the fees are based on income. There are HUD guidelines and requirements to meet before people may move to the community. Skyline views extend from horizon to horizon out of picture windows, looking out over the crossroads of Central Florida at the heart of downtown Orlando. Westminster Towers is an active living community with the continuum of care.
Rest assured that you will have just the right level of support and assistance when you need it. That’s the benefit of assisted living at Westminster Towers: The assurance of supportive care when you need it. Choose from a range of renovated apartments with picture windows, beautifully appointed with open layouts featuring a kitchenette and private bathroom.
