Customer Reviews

I have been very happy with the care provided my husband at Sunrise of Randolph. The residents are monitored medically with great care and any problems found are dealt with quickly. Staff are attentive to residents' daily care. When I visit, he is always neat and clean. If he refuses a meal, they set food aside and check back to assure that, when he is ready, his meal is still available. I have found him eating breakfast at 10:30 or 11 because he wanted to sleep in! Yup. They spoil him. But at 87 maybe he's entitled!

What I value most about his care is the staff-resident interaction. Laughter, joking, hugs and affection. And patience. Endless patience.

I loved this facility and thought MIL could be happy here, but apparently this is all going to be about location. Lovely facility that I considered high on the list, but what do I know.

A tour

We liked this community when we took our tour. The person that took us on tour was friendly. This is a larger community with many floors. This community does allow pets and seems to offer some nice amenities. They take good care of the grounds and the community. The community we chose was closer to family.

So far, so good!

The staff is taking very good care of my mother I am very pleased so far. My mother can be a picky eater and she likes the food that is served for her here. I feel that they are on top of her care and they are very professional. They never get defensive, so it has been a good experience so far.

the place is nice but there policies to move in is absurd. 3800 move in fee and you move in yourself. they don't give you a copy of the contract and charge you when a person isn't there. I'm disappointed with that and all they are there is to make money.

Sunshine at Sunrise

Less than a week there, but so far so good. Homey feel with smiling faces and lots of activities. It's very clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and they even have Buddy as the homes pet who is a sweetie.

More money more money!

I was able to take a tour of this community and fell in love with it. I would absolutely send my loved one here. The people are great and very knowledgeable and they are helpful. The only thing that I had a problem with is that they have a point system which everything that your loved one needs means more money.

There care levels were very good and the facility meets our requirements. They do not have room avalablity till the end of Oct.

I have already recommended this community!!!

I have been very pleased with Sunrise. My husband is doing better since moving into this community. I can not say enough about the community. The staff are fantastic and helpful. I am amazed at how clean this community is. The food is good. The offer a wide variety of daily activities.

A nice tour!!

I liked that this was clean community that offered a variety of activities. The people that conducted the tour were nice and knowledgeable. The community we chose was a little more suited to our needs.

Review of Sunrise of Randolph - Randolph, NJ

I visited Sunrise of Randolph on Saturday March 12th. We met with Nicolas who was incredibly friendly and helpful. The residents here seemed happy and they have a house dog named Buddy.

They did a good job.

My loved one was just here for a short stay. They did a good job. We didn't have any complaints.

Seemed like a nice place!

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We actually toured (and selected!) another Sunrise facility, and I was impressed with both of them.

A good chioce for mom.

Sunrise of Randolph is a safe and trusted facility for a elderly loved one. Both staff and management listen to your questions and needs, and adjustments are made as needed. I would and have recomended this establisment to others.

Nice place, overall

The assisted living part of the community was very nice and the residents were active. The memory care area had about 20 residents and they were all just sitting around watching TV and the staff was at their station doing their work and there was not interaction with the residents. The community was nice and clean. There were no odors or anything else that made it feel like a hospital.

Life at Sunrise

Sunrise had the hair salon and a baking area which were nice options to have for seniors. I went in an afternoon on a Saturday and saw all their floor plans. They told us you would have to bring your own furniture. I looked at that two ways. For my mother we would have to get new furniture.

The place seemed warm inviting, though my mother would have stayed more in her room. Sunrise would have been an option on my list accept for the Medicaid rule.

The negative of Sunrise is they don’t take both types of Medicaid and for my mother this would not have worked long term if she need to stay for a few years. I was not willing to have her moved to whatever place was open after my mother’s finances ran out.

Very good care overall

Overall they do a great job here! My loved one is in the memory care unit, and all of the staff there are very friendly and professional. They provide excellent care, and are always prompt about notifying me about any issues or changes in behavior. They were also helpful in helping us find a new physician, since unfortunately the person my loved one had been using for years did not make house calls to this facility.
One area I'd like to see them improve on are the activities for the memory care patients. I understand it can be difficult to find activities that are appropriate for the wide range of memory care patients they work with, but my loved ones says she spends a lot of time just sitting around watching TV.

Very friendly staff!

They do a great job here! The staff are all amazing friendly, and do a wonderful job caring for the residents. They really get to know everyone on a personal level, and you can tell they think of it more than just work. The facility itself is always very clean and well kept, and we're more than happy with the care and the activities provided.

A nice looking location

This was a nice looking community, and we liked what we saw during our tour. We were considering this location for my in-laws, but the location was not ideal for us, and we were offered a good time-limited deal by another community.

Second Choice

If we wouldn't have found a better community, this was probably the one we would have gone to. Their a set down from the one we chose but they were still a viable option. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous and seemed to be professional. It wasn't as big as the other place and it seemed to have all the basics covered but when you take into consideration the price, it was not as attractive of an option. We just didn't get as good of a feeling here. Plus, they didn't have any rooms available at the time.

Really appreciate the staff

They took very good care of my father, they did a very good job. They had a lot more rooms, I found them to be more maintaining people as opposed to insirping and entertaining, he was always clean, the place was immaculate, but they kind of let them sleep in chairs, they didn't have a lot of entertainment for the people in memory care but they did downstairs. It was considered the primo in the county and in fact they took some of the lead staff over to the other places to get them into shape, I wasn't really impressed with the managers that took over so what we did as a family was bonded with the staff directly and gave them food and thanked them so they knew we appreciated what they did for him. We made it a point to, every occasion, every holiday, baked something or brought something so they recognized you appreciated what they did.

Impressive facility (newer than some of the others) but has less private (couples/companion) suites than Mt. Arlington. The interior decor is attractive and building layout has a numerous common areas (indoor and outdoor) where residents can either pursue social activities or just relax and enjoy personal interests. The private suites are well maintained and staff professional. Fire control was well planned out and facility/resident security well maintained and functional. There are 3 tiers of care (assisted, nursing, and severe dementia) on different floors all within the same facility. Security levels differ for each tier. More expensive than the Mt. Arlington. No transportation provided to residents' existing doctors beyond specified distance. Local medical center doctors available should residents want to transfer doctors.
