Customer Reviews

While we cannot pinpoint our disappointment, we feel it is not the place for our aunt. It felt less like 'home' and more like a seniorfacility

What ever they tell you about this place is a con!!!! the main elavator has been broke for over 4 months, SO NO EMT,S CAN GET A GURNEY UP TO FLOORS 2 THRU 4. SO IF YOU FALL AND HURT YOURSELF SERIOULY YOU ARE PUT IN A WHEELCHAIR TO BE TAKEN DOWNSTAIRS.THINK IF YOU BREAK A VERTEBRAE IN YOUR BACK.OR BREAK A HIP,HOW SAFE OF TRANSPORT THAT IS FOR YOUR LOVED ONE!!!! DON\T BELIEVE WHAT KIND OF CARE THERE TRY'N TO SELL YOU ITS LIKE A USED CAR SALESMAN! ITS [Removed]......."

Was disappointed, the outside not maintained well , not welcoming. The inside was just ok. Not on my list of options for mom.

Do your research for Alzheimer's care levels

Care staff and facility not able to fully support our father's more advanced Alzheimer's levels of behavior, especially in the area of personalized interaction and activities. Wander Guard system did not work past the entrance to the garden allowing our father to leave the facility twice undetected via an unlocked gate. Care staff friendly and supportive, but unable to provide enough monitoring, even with the addition of "frequent checks" and escort services. Assessing exactly what is required for a resident with Alzheimer's can be difficult and touring, then choosing a facility is time consuming, but necessary in order to provide the best fit for the individual.

The staff is friendly. But the service and the food is not so good. There is a new chef. But when I ask for a drink or husband asks for ice cream, we never get it. I need to put on weight but they have been giving me the small portion meals, not regular portion. I haven't been able to do the activities yet.

Three Stars

I guess that my loved one went to the Emergency Room and a taxi brought her back and she had to fill out paperwork that needed to get to the doctor, and it took a long time to get that sorted out for her.

Helpful

The employees at Santa Maria Terrace are very helpful. My father has Dementia and can be difficult at times. They are very patience with him and he is settling in as well as can be expected. This is the only one that I found that would allow him to have his dog with him, Labrador.

Very happy

My sister lives at the Santa Maria Terrace. We are very happy with the facility. Michelle Kiel did a great job. She was extremely helpful. I can't rate the care services or the activities because I was not there long enough. This is a nice place.

Santa Maria Terrace is a great place...

My friend, Susan Proctor, asked me to help her find somewhere to live. She had been hospitalized and then placed in a facility she could not afford. I found your web site and was assisted by you. You recommended Santa Maria Terrace. It is a lovely place with lots of activities and great food. She seems very happy to live there. Thank you so much.

Santa Maria Terrace is doing a great job.

Santa Maria Terrace is doing a great job. The staff is very friendly, and it's clean. They are enjoying the food, they feel like they are king and queen. The care is great, even if they accidentally push the button the staff is right there in an instant. Having a billing sheet that is easy to figure out, would be very helpful, it's very confusing, and stressful for the elderly couple. That is the only thing that could be better.

Nice, Large Rooms

They're doing some remodeling right now but they're doing a really good job of keeping dust down while they do that. We looked at 7 or 8 in the area. Price was part of the decision making process and it's a smaller facility. I don't think my father would do well with a real large community. We did respite as a trial. He stayed there for two weeks and when we came back he said that's where he wanted to stay.

If they don't see you, they come check on you and get you out of your room. It used to be a Holiday Inn but they've done a really nice job of converting it. If you get a two room you have a sitting room and you ended up with two bathrooms because they took two motel rooms and opened up the doorway between them. Because it was a Holiday Inn, the rooms were decidedly different, much larger than all the other room that we were looking at.

My mom has just mov...

My mom has just moved in recently and we are pretty happy with Santa Maria Terrace. My mom enjoys the activities like playing dominos with the other residents; she goes down for coffee chat and all her meals. Having just moved she has not been able to take advantage of all they offer but the food is good and she seems to be adjusting well. I was really very impressed with Crystal at Santa Maria Terrace. She called me before our tour to discuss my mom and her needs and then during our tour she stayed with us over an hour while we ate lunch. I was very impressed by how warmly we were treated at Santa Maria. We toured a different property, Merrill Gardens, and did not receive the same attention or care. My only concern with Santa Maria is we are paying for my mom to receive 3 showers a week and she is not getting them. We are working with the staff to correct this issue which is not acceptable. My mom seems to be refusing her shower and the staff is allowing that, but hopefully that will not continue. Besides that issue we are happy with this place.

Okay...but not sure about the 2 perso...

Okay...but not sure about the 2 person transfer problem. Might work.
