Hello Kathy, we are so happy to hear you were fond of this staff member; we were as well and miss them very much, but of course wish them the best in their next step. Thanks for reaching out, we hope you are doing well! Thank you!

A Good Place For My Parent

So far so good. My parent has attentive staff available. They make good food for everyone to eat. The community is a clean place.

It is Working Out For Us

It took my dad awhile to get comfortable living here but the staff were helpful during his transition. He likes the meals and he has got involved with some of the many activities they have available. I like the community and it was a good fit for us.

Mom's new home!!

Everyone that we have come in contact with has been extremely friendly and helpful!!

Watch out for the misinformation!!

I felt mislead by the pricing at this community. We were shown one apartment and then a week before mom was to move in they said it was no longer available. They then said they had a smaller apartment. We were given one price and a few days later when we went to sign the papers they raised it. The staff are nice and encourage her to participate in the daily activities. They take care of her.

My mother absolutely love living at ponder Creek the only thing that I keep hearing is from my mother and most of the residents that I talk to is that the food has really gone downhill and they they just get sick and it take so long to be served and the food is just not good quality

wonderful

They are really wonderful! They are really good to my mother, and all the residents get along very well.

My only critique is that their meals take forever. Sometimes my mother and the others will be sitting down for an hour or more waiting for their meal.

Other than that, everything is going very well.

quality not the same anymore

Let me begin by saying this is a business and it appears everything is about cost cutting. I realize they are there to make a profit but really......there are two washers and dryers on each end of every floor. However, they are off limit between 9-4 M-F for house keeping. One of the washers was broken for 2 plus months. For the price you pay it should have been taken care of immediately. Need more washers and dryers for the number of people living there. It appears the people who tip get their rooms cleaned thoroughly. The others just get the drive by treatment. In their defense they are understaffed and overworked. Just not enough help. Management staff changes too often. I do believe Bob and Doreen do a great job. However, it appears everything just gets cheaper and cheaper. I am quite sure this is due to corporate guidelines. They are kind to the residents which is so appreciated. I do not think the food is up to par. They deserve a higher quality of food and choices. Again, it is all about staying within a budget. The elderly deserve the best care. The facility is not the same quality as it was when my parent moved in a few years ago. My parent is fortunate because we can supplement food, cleaning and laundry help as needed. However, there are many who do not have that support.

Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Holiday Retirement home office. First, I'm so very sorry to hear you're having a negative experience at Ponder Creek. I agree that having looming maintenance issues for 2 months or more is completely unacceptable. I also agree that residents should not feel as if amenities that are included in their rent, such as housekeeping, are only available to a privileged few. I passed your concerns regarding cost and quality to our Resident Relations department for their investigation. Please know that you're welcome to call them as well in case you have anything else to add or would like to follow up on any of your concerns. Their number is [removed].

Thank you,
Katie

going good

Ponder Creek Estates everything is going good at Ponder Creek Estate right now. They had a welcome event and we were able to be in the private dining room. They have plenty of activities here although mom does not participate in them yet. I do wish she would. Overall we are pleased with this facility.

I have absolutely nothing positive or constructive to say regarding Holiday Retirement Ponder Creek Lou. Ky.

I have absolutely nothing positive or constructive to say regarding Holiday Retirement
My Past Experience with Ponder creek was wonderful, but I can not say that now.
My previous Experience with Ponder creek has been horrifying. My aunt was there for two years she passed away in June. The manager there, at that time was passionate & caring they took pride in their work. They cared about the residents and their well-being and they were their day & night no matter what. My Father decided to retire in to ponder creek because his sister had been there and he knew how good she was treated. He was hoping for the same hospitably. But there were new mangers and no respect for the residents. They were rude not just to residents but to staff & Family. Mangers threaten residents by raising their rent. My father put a suggestion in the suggestion box about preparing more food for meals so they would not run out out. And having snacks out in the evenings and he signed his name. He was told by other residents if he did that his rent would go up. I attend one of the meetings where the Ponder Creek management was not allowed. We met with a Mr Fries [removed] he has no passion what so ever for the seniors. I do believe Mr. Fries & the mangers are lining their pockets by raising these poor seniors rent. What happen to the mangers that was there in June 2014 you need to find them and bring them back or there will not be a Ponder Creek. My Father stayed two months and moved in with me. I do not recommend this place for anyone not even a animal. As far as Resident Relations it’s a joke they talk a big game, but nothing is done we filled out the cards made phone calls nothing but to hear them say. They will look into the problem and get back with us. Just to hear them say there is nothing they can do. Or they leave you hanging I think they are getting a kick back just like management Janice

It is a horrible place and overpriced needs news management

I am not happy at all with the Ponder Creek. I don’t know where these people get how great this place is. It may have been when it was under the old management but they have had a huge turnover since July 2014. It has gone downhill ever since whoever the managers was before July they need to bring them back. Manager now are hateful to the residents mean to the staff residents are moving out right & left they get you in promise you the moon. Then treat the poor people like dogs and the price is outrageous for what you get my dad called me thanksgiving they had leftover turkey sandwiches and that was all on paper plates. . There is never no food out or tea or coffee after hours for the price they should be getting T – bones seven days a week. If they think a resident is calling the corporate office they make it so bad for they resident they have to move My Dad moved in in Aug. And moved out in November. It is a horrible place

Hi Betty,
First, thank you for your sincerity in this review. To clarify: have you called the Resident Relations department to lodge a formal complaint? If not, I highly encourage you to do so. Their number is [removed]. It's feedback from residents and their families that help us improve as a business, so the more details and suggestions, the better.

Thank you again, and I'm very sorry you are having a negative experience.

Sincerely,
Katie - Communications - Holiday Retirement Home Office

Nice place, overall!

Things have gone very well so far at Ponder Creek Estates! It's a nice looking place, very clean, and everyone seems very friendly. The only real complaint we had is that the move-in process didn't feel very streamlined. We had to carry her furniture down a long narrow hallway, and we felt like we were getting in the way of the other residents.

We are very happy with them.

We are very happy with them. It's very clean, a five plus. The staff is extremely friendly. I think they are by far the least expensive, without cutting corners to do it. Every time I go out there they are doing some kind of activity, and there is a good variety of things to do. When we first came we had lunch and it was fantastic. My aunt is very picky and she likes the food. I don't think there is anything that I can complain about or that I would like to see changed.

I would highly recommend!!

They are great!! There are plenty of activities and things to do, and my mom has already made friends! The staff come and encourage the residents to participate! They worked with me financially to accomodate our needs! It's just like family here! They really make you feel welcome! Also, the food is awesome! They have real chefs that make the food, and it's delicious! They always have food out - cookies out, and soups out until midnight. The waiters and waitresses are dressed appropriately and their hair is up. The chefs have their big white hats on. The communication with the management is great as well! I go everyday, and they really helped me with setting up physical therapy and doctors. Bonnie and Jim live there, and they are so helpful! They are so welcoming and I'm so glad we found Ponder Creek!

SUPER PONDER CREEK, A GREAT LIFE EXPERIENCE.

I love my new digs. There are so many nice people and they include my live-in managers, Bonnie and Jim Nutt.
They are so wonderful - caring and helpful.

We have so many activities I can't find time to do my laundry, but that's great.

We go on shopping trips and can get to Rite Aid or they deliver our drugs from just up the street.

All the services are great and for the most part our meals are pretty good. We have had some suggestions added in and hope to add some more in the near future. They are always open to our suggestions.

Love the entertainment they have for us and we have the freedom of entertaining ourselves with many activities.

All in all, a wonderful place to live and participate in life.

Ponder Creek was great. Unfortunately, since it's not an assisted living residence, we had to make the decision to not use them. Bonnie did tell us that we would be able to make arrangements for a 'visiting nurse' or whatever else might be needed but my husband would rather have his father somewhere that can handle that for us. Ponder Creek is a beautiful facility with lovely grounds.

Very Pleased

December will be the third month that my mother has lived at Ponder Creek. I have been very pleased with the facility. The food is good; the staff is friendly; she feels safe; there are many activities; lots of entertainment and family members are kept apprised of how she's doing.

Outstanding facilities and off site activities. Multiple areas available for a variety of activities. Units were very spacious and affordable. No on site nurse but a husband/wife management team available 24 hours a day. Large number of units on site. Owners can travel to other sites for vacation as long as they provide their own transportation.
