It's been the best thing that's ever happened to her
Mom really likes it at Island View. It's been the best thing that's ever happened to her. She is rehab right now but will be going back to Island view soon and is really looking forward to it. It is truly a home away from home for her. I couldn't ask for more.
I have had a very good experience with Island View. The man that runs it is extremely friendly. The overall experience has been really great.
Perfect for an 88 year old lady with Alzheimer's.
Pam and Mike run a home specifically built for the care of senior citizens. It is filled with family, pets and a rural setting with only six residents. It seems perfect for my mother to spend her remaining days.
Excellent, competent, friendly care
Island View is very small (six residents) and informal. I can and have visited anytime day or early evening and both residents and staff are friendly and welcoming. The proprietor, Pam Smith, is very competent, an RN, as are her two daughters, both of whom work at the facility.
Island View is house with a downstairs wing for the residents and an upstairs wing for Pam's family, including grandchildren. There are cats and dogs aplenty, as well as children.
The setting is peaceful, beside a branch of the Rondout Creek, across from an island preserve.
Meals are well-balanced, care is given when needed, and my 100 year old mother has told me many times that she wants to stay here.
