Don't throw your money away !
I have lived here for 5 years, rent is high for what you get. You are expected to shovel your own sidewalks and driveway. You are also responsible for maintenance of driveway even though you do not own the property. People are very cliquey, and are not so welcoming. There are a certain couple that feel as though they run everything and complain about everything else anyone does. Water and sewer are quite expensive. As soon as you purchase a new home you are losing money, since you can never sell for any where what you paid for it. Rules are one thing for one set of people another for others. People have their adult children with criminal backgrounds living with them.Run don't walk from this place!!!!
Not what it's cracked up to be ...
If I had the chance to do it over again I would run the other way. There is a lot of corruption going on. People getting kick-backs to force people to walk away from their old units so new units can be put in and big profits made. There is a whole network of conspiracy and backstabbing. Also ,,, very depressing place. Very little good senior programs going on. Once they hook you in and get your money you're on your own. Very cold and unfriendly place. Let the buyer beware!!
A wonderful place to live
I have lived here for 5 years. The community is 55+ with only a few who are aged 48+ because they are disabled. That's the LAW!! There are no children. The community is clean and quiet. Each home (370+) has a large lot with a 2-car driveway, individual mail box delivery, and a storage shed. The Club House is the Elections Voting location for all residents and is very nice with an Olympic-size swimming pool, shuffle board, and BBQ grills. They offer Bingo, Cards, and Holiday Dances for the residents. During emergencies, like Hurricane Sandy, the Club House is open 24/7 with an emergency generator, hot coffee, cocoa, and sandwiches. RENT INCLUDES Basic Cable, Street Snow Removal, Garbage and Recycle Pickup, Weekly Lawn and Tree Maintenance, Discounted Heating Gas prices, and best of all it's a RENT CONTROLLED community based on the Social Security COLA. The Deer are happy here too and spend a lot of time nibbling on the grass or laying down to take a rest. AND WE HAVE NO CRIME!! What more can you ask for???
think twice before buying at clearwater
The rent is high for what you get. There a lot of people moving in that are not 55,and they have a problem getting rid of people who have criminal records.
