Like Living In A Regular Apartment

This community is for senior independent living no services other than meals. The staff is good very friendly and helpful when needed. The food is good. The community grounds are well maintained. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking just for independent living

Menu needs an overhaul

I want to start out by saying that Birch Heights is a beautifully well-kept and clean community. The staff is outstanding. They are very caring and friendly. The problem is that the food is not good. I have eaten there and they do not provide healthy choices for the dietary needs of the residents. If it doesn't improve drastically we will have to move my Dad to a place where they will accommodate the dietary needs of the residents. The service is very slow and they try and hurry the residents when they finally do get served. If they run out of healthy choices which they often do, they substitute a healthy meal with a sandwich. In addition, when I ate there I noticed some of the food is very salty which cannot be good for the residence. My Dad is diabetic and bread is not a good substitute meal. It is a poor dining experience for the residence. I hate to say this because everything else is a perfect fit for my Dad.

Facility is a little older but the residents seemed to really enjoy it. All residents were friendly. Funny my husband and I like the facilities that are up to date but I would bet my dad would like this place the best. Very reasonable cost.

It was a very pleasant community. The menu was a good one. Lots of activities. My only complaint is there was no stove or oven to bake with. I like to cook. The cost was higher than I can afford.

Thank you to [removed] she was very helpful in finding Birch Heights

Looking Forward to my Move

I'am looking forward to my move to this community. It is a very nice place, everything looks nice and clean. The staff is very kind and helpful. There are nice activities and good meals available for the residents. So far I have had a good experience with this community. It is a very nice place, and I would recommend it.

Looks wonderful!

This is a beautiful new community and the person I toured Birch Heights with was nice. It seemed like they did offer good amenities. This community was a little out of our price range.

A very lovely community. Bright cheery, people out and about and looking involved and happy. Very caring staff. Units adequate. The only place that showed me their kitchen which was spotless. I really liked the atmosphere here.

Very nice

Birch Heights is a very nice facility. It is nicely decorated, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive. They are very good with the residents. There are plenty of activities for the resident here.

Our Mom

My mom has been there one week today and has been made feel very welcome not only by the staff but also by the residents.
Although she has not taken advantage of the many activities she has been treated to a private dining experience with other new guests and has been looked after by the local Ambassadors of the residence.
She loves her apartment and believe it is just the right size. ( 1 bedroom )
We thank a place for mom and Stacy the advisor who was very patient and informative.
Change is challenging for any of us but especially the elderly who have seen and lived through a lot. We are fortunate as we live near by and can help with the transition.

Very nice place

Our experience with Birch Heights has been a very good one, overall! It's just a very nice looking, clean, well kept facility, and the staff has been professional and easy to work with.

Beautiful Place

My mother in law is here. It is a very nice and attractive facility. The décor is beautiful.

Having lived in a poorly managed ALF, it is certainly nice to be at Birch Heights, where Management demonstrates "How it should be done." The Dining Room is like a restaurant - the service is professional. We do love it here.

It's been very nice. I would recommend it.

It's been very nice. I would recommend it. My dad is a picky eater but he enjoys the food here. The facility is always very clean and well kept. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The staff has been very helpful with everything. The value is excellent for everything you receive. I can't rate the care services because it is not applicable. My dad doesn't use the care services.

Very nice looking place!

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I would give Birch Heights top marks across the board, it was a very nice looking place! The staff were all very friendly, and it seems like they take great care of the people who live here.

Very nice place, lots of activities!

They do a great job at Birch Heights. I was really impressed by the amount of effort they put in to introducing new residents to the community. They do a great job helping new people get settled in, acclimated, and introduced to all of the activities and amenities they offer. They seem to have a very busy activity schedule! The food is also very good.

Would Highly Recommend!

For everything that we have asked for, they have been quick to respond and resolve. This is independent living, so there really aren't any care services. It would be nice if they had in-house medication reminders, though. Also, there is only one elevator. So, in a community where there are 100 residents, that can be a little difficult. The only issues have been more with the parent company. There haven't been any issues with Birch Heights themselves. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Very nice community

My main concern for my Mom here was that she would be comfortable and safe, and Birch Heights seems like a great place for both of those. Mom is really enjoying the social atmosphere here, and is having a lot of fun.

Very nice looking, but expensive

These looked really amazing, and the tour was impressive. Everything looked very nice, and was kept up extremely well. However, they were just too expensive to be an option for us to consider. The quality did appear to be in line with the price.

Great looking place, but not what we needed

This community was very nice looking. It was a beautiful facility, everyone was friendly, and they were really bending over backwards trying to accommodate my loved one. Unfortunately they just didn't provide the sort of care we were needing, but it was a really great place. The residents were a very upbeat, active, and social crowd, and I feel like she would have fit in great.

Both my father and I loved this place. Really gave us a a cozy felling. The lay out of the visility I really love. I am going to say this is the place my father wants to live.

I Highly Recommend Birch Heights!

They're absolutely fantastic! One of the things that I noticed right away was how clean and immaculate the place was. My mom, who is quite particular, remarked about how outgoing and comforting the staff is. She's been there for a couple of weeks and she's just fallen in love with the place. She participating in the activities and spending more time outside her room visiting with other tenants and the staff than inside her room. She said the food was good and the grounds are impeccable. I highly recommend Birch Heights!

Independent living, very clean, spoke with Polly, only 1 elevator for 4 floors, handicapped rooms on 1st floor, rooms have nice natural lighting, dining room looks clean and comfortable, grounds are well groomed, Polly called each resident by name, month to month rent includes 3 meals, utilities and bus to area places (stores, doctors, etc), includes them on trips

This place is lovely but not sure it is affordable enough. Also not sure my Mom is ready to give up having a kitchen an Dad is not wild about community dining 3 times a day. Met some very nice and enthusiastic residents.

Beautiful facility, lovely people, nice rooms. well appointed. Food was mediocre (tasteless or too spicy). Hallways were dark with heavy paintings, and the general use spaces were very dark and color-less/lifeless. There was nothing fresh or fragrant, nothing hopeful or exciting. The atmosphere was more like that of a nursing home, although the facility itself was gorgeous. Wonderful tour. Good information. Needs another elevator; having just one for all those residents is irresponsible and becomes a death trap! Outside areas are minimal and almost non-existent. Staff is lovely and polite. On a rating of 1-10 with 10 being best, I'd give it an 8.
